Story
Kai is my life, I am a mess to lose him. We are last minute losing our rental and the only new one we could find.. wont accept. He was my support dog during my Cancer, then he was diagnosed with Cancer 5 years ago, he hasnt had any treatment as he was given an estimate of a year TOPS to live. But he is still here! I think he has lost some memory as he will ask for food back to back unless he naps. We have another dog...but he turns on her when it comes to food, outside noise, or a scare. He cant be bothered when asleep. He needs to have a fenced in yard or a strong person to use a leash. He barks alot and all the time at anything and everything. So I suggest an off street house and land, free from close neighbors. Kai gets along with people and kids, not cats. He does still jump all over in excitement but his length of energy has gone down. He loves to play tug of war, his favorite toy would come with him ofcourse. We would also love to have open/scheduled visit when we can.

Story
Linus is a sweet little guy who  definitely  has   had a harder life before coming to PA.  He comes from a shelter in West Virginia where he spent nearly 2  years  and we suspect shelter life was a tad hard on him.   Linus is slowly coming out of his  shell  and you can tell he’s excited for another chance!    Linus LOVES other dogs and gains confidence from being around them.  We strongly believe it would be best for him to be in a forever home with at least one other canine friend.   Most times, you’ll find him snuggled up with our other dogs – he truly seems to find comfort from them.   He also enjoys his walks and does incredibly well on the leash.  For a small dog – he’s about 10lbs -he’s very quiet and there’s not much he reacts to. It should be said that given his extensive shelter stay and unknown history before that, Linus is  a bit scared and skittish .   He probably should not go to a forever home with small children.  Linus  tends to be  initially afraid  of people and it’s not his favorite to be pet or cuddled  by new people .   Something that could  definitely change  with time and treats!    Linus is extremely food motivated and a good eater.   Linus is a  10 year old sweetheart  who needs a soft place to land in a home with other dogs and older children.  He could also live with a cat as he seems to be intimidated by ours. Julie is from a litter of 8 hound/pittie mixes that has arrived from Tennessee.  She’s been with us for 3 years!  She is about about 50lbs, spayed, microchipped and UTD on vaccines. Still looking for her forever family.  She loves other dogs and plays non stop. She likes to lick your face and when she’s tired she will cuddle up close.  Even though she plays with other dogs, she needs to be the ONLY dog in the household.  She wants all the attention from her humans.  We are accepting applications for her and her adoption fee is $400. Per rescue policy, bully breeds and bully breed mixes are adopted to homeowners only.   You can apply by clicking on this link:  https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FHPA/Dog  March 17, 2026, 5:12 pm

Story
Meet Roxy!!! She’s the gem who almost didn’t get her chance. Saved from euthanasia at ACCT Philly, this sweet girl is making the most of her second shot at life. Roxy is potty‑trained, smart, and full of joy. She loves other dogs, walks beautifully on leash, and stays calm and non‑reactive out in the world. She’s on the smaller side for a pit mix but very active (no couch potatoes for Roxy). She does have one adorable quirk: she’s obsessed with toys. She’ll proudly parade them around, steal them when you’re not looking, and even drag every indoor toy outside through the dog door. Mischief level: expert. Charm level: off the charts. Roxy is microchipped, vaccinated, 4DX negative, and ready for her forever home. Adoption fee: $350 Questions?
