American Pit Bull Terrier American Pit Bull Terrier

Male, young , Special Needs
Carrsville, VA
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with cats, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
He was originally owned by a gentleman who kept him in a small bedroom or tied up in the small backyard, because his girlfriend didn't like him. The neighborhood kids used to come and take him and potentially torture him. He was brought up to a local donation center in which the gentlman asked if anyone wanted him. He was originally taken home by a co-worker who had him for almost 2 weeks. He got along with his small dog, but the girlfriend was allergic so we took him in. He gets along great with our young pit and ok with our young female husky but, he has refused to get along with our older male husky. We have tried various times. We do have to keep them separate. He was not potty trained at first but, he is now. He knows his basic commands. He is extremely sweet and loving and eager to please He deserves a nice quiet home preferably with female dogs and he is pretty good with us, our older child but a little bit rambunctious for a younger one.

Story
Hazel is a 3-year-old, 77 lbs, American Bulldog. She is crate and potty-trained. Hazel is current on all vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. Her temperament is super sweet. She will sit for you on command to go out the front door, and she will sit before coming back in, once she calms down. She is extremely playful and does not have a mean bone in her body. She does have a high prey drive so you use be very strong to walk her. It is best that you let her run in a fenced yard and chase to her heart's content. Leash training is recommended as she is very strong. Hazel needs to be crated when she’s not supervised because she will chew anything and that could be very dangerous for her. Not recommended to live with small children due to her size. If interested in adopting please fill out an application at operationsaveashelterdog.org. The adoption fee is $250.
