Story

Mickey is appropriately 7-8 years old Yorkie. A few months ago, he was unfortunately hit by a car, and the owners relinquished him to animal control in hopes he would find a rescue that would provide him with the necessary medical care he needed to recover. After a massive surgery by a specialized surgeon, his pelvic area was pieced back together. His foster mom took the best care of him during this time and has done amazing work with him to help rehabilitate. Mickey craves attention like any Yorkie. He loves sharing a favorite chair or sofa and snuggles. He is great with people, but he isn’t kid tested. Because he is still unsteady on his feet and will be healing and strengthening for a while, homes need to not have young children or rambunctious dogs, because he could easily be trampled and injured. Short walks and an easy, cozy life is what this pup needs for his future. He loves toys and to play tug. Mickey is sensitive to unknown sounds and will bark at them. Unknown sounds could be a whistling teapot, sandhill cranes, gun shots (he is being fostered in the country), etc. He has a big voice for such a small fellow, so no attached style living for him. Mickey gets along well with other small dogs, playing with them, sharing his bed and their companionship. Cats are not a good fit for Mickey's future home, because he is quite persistent and annoying to them, and even a swat doesn’t deter him. Mickey is fostered in Myakka City, FL, and his fee is $350. He's fully vetted and ready to go. No airplane trips for this guy, he must go home by way of riding. Emails generated from Adopt a Pet or Petfinder will NOT be returned. Windows down car rides to chomp @ cars is his fav>> Needs stern redirection when overstimulated/in unfamiliar scenarios. Protective instincts. Needs work walking on the leash. 0 interest to escape yard w many opportunities. microchipped- full consistent vet hx w last scheduled vaxs missed. Takes benadryl PRN for seasonal skin allergies. Daisy is a lovely, sweet, playful, and well-behaved Lab/GSD mix, and she gets along with other dogs and people of all ages. She’s healthy - she’s 2 1/2, she had a heat cycle in June and was spayed in August, and she’s up to date on vaccinations and heartworm preventative. She is house trained and command trained. Daisy loves to play fetch and run, and she enjoys playing at dog parks and splashing in the water. She’s a wonderful dog, and we want her to live her best life with a big yard and folks who can exercise her.

Story

We are looking for a home for Samson that is experienced with mastiff/molosser breeds. We adopted him 2 months ago from PRAS and have found that our family is not equipped to give him the training and socialization that is so important for his long term well being. Potential adopters will be vetted and previous experience with his type of breed is an absolute MUST. We have 5 children including 8 month old twins and he has done well with the children but doesn’t know his size so I would say a home without toddlers/babies is best. He is house broken, neutered, crate trained, and knows sit, no, and kennel. He is still a puppy and therefore working on not chewing things up (loves shoes) and is still sometimes mouthy with puppy bites though is easily corrected with redirecting to toys or a firm “no bite”. He is 100% Cane Corso and I have his DNA results that also include health testing. Samson will need consistent, ongoing training. Vet references required.
