Story
Mickey is appropriately 7-8 years old Yorkie. A few months ago, he was unfortunately hit by a car, and the owners relinquished him to animal control in hopes he would find a rescue that would provide him with the necessary medical care he needed to recover. After a massive surgery by a specialized surgeon, his pelvic area was pieced back together. His foster mom took the best care of him during this time and has done amazing work with him to help rehabilitate.  Mickey craves attention like any Yorkie. He loves sharing a favorite chair or sofa and snuggles. He is great with people, but he isn’t kid tested. Because he is still unsteady on his feet and will be healing and strengthening for a while, homes need to not have young children or rambunctious dogs, because he could easily be trampled and injured. Short walks and an easy, cozy life is what this pup needs for his future. He loves toys and to play tug. Mickey is sensitive to unknown sounds and will bark at them. Unknown sounds could be a whistling teapot, sandhill cranes, gun shots (he is being fostered in the country), etc. He has a big voice for such a small fellow, so no attached style living for him. Mickey gets along well with other small dogs, playing with them, sharing his bed and their companionship. Cats are not a good fit for Mickey's future home, because he is quite persistent and annoying to them, and even a swat doesn’t deter him.  Mickey is fostered in Myakka City, FL, and his fee is $350. He's fully vetted and ready to go.  No airplane trips for this guy, he must go home by way of riding.    Emails generated from Adopt a Pet or Petfinder will NOT be returned. If you visit our website and the dog is marked "available," that means it is available and we are accepting applications. Please read the dog's bio (below) in its entirety before asking questions. Story
This boy is a gem! He's absolutely perfect, a real turnkey dog. Fostered in Vero Beach, FL, small enough to fit easily into a bag for in-cabin flying. Enrique is a 7 year old, 7 lb male Chihuahua. He’s tiny but mighty, and a lil bit stocky. This super sweet social butterfly boy is an easy keeper and steals the heart of everyone he meets Enrique gets along with dogs of all sizes, cats and has never met a stranger. He is playful and affectionate with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion but people are his PASSION! We have not seen him around children so perhaps older children would be best with his tiny size. His favorite place is in your lap or snuggled up in your neck. Enrique is fully vetted, even bloodwork and a dental with 15 teeth removed, ouch. Enrique is great in the car and on a leash. He is truly a dog that you can easily take anywhere and even housetrained. He does need help getting into the bed so will bark to let you know he wants up. Snuggling, snoozing and snacking are Rique’s favorite pastimes, and he loves a little play time. He is content to stay in bed or explore the town. Enrique is fostered in Vero Beach, and his fee is $350. Visit www.nakedkissesdogrescue.org to read our policies and to apply.    December 18, 2024, 4:21 pm

Story
Our wonderful dog Chessie came to us 7 years ago when she was around one and a half years old. We found her online and the previous owner did not know how old she was. They had a more aggressive dog so they chose to give Chessie away. She has been with us as we started a family but as our family has grown we are moving. The house we are moving to does not allow dogs so with a sadden heart we have to give her up. She is great with other dogs, cats, and kids. She is still playful and loves to run around outside.

Story
Her birthday is October 17th, 2021, so she is about 3 1/2 years old. She is fully potty trained, kennel trained, and she knows various tricks. She is well-mannered on a leash and loves to look at scenery when we go for walks We are still working on her not jumping up on adult people when she first meets them (to give kisses). She is extremely gentle with young/small children and is a huge fan of meeting new people and animals. She enjoys watching the local birds and squirrels. She is non vocal unless you leave her in a kennel and she voices her frustration periodically through a grumble or howl. But at home with me, she is not a barker, howler, or talker. She loves to play fetch and tag (where I pretend to come get her and then she comes and gets me). She will happily sleep 90% of the day away as long as you keep her belly full and she knows you are there. She is a lot like a cat in that way. She is not spayed. She is fully vaccinated and on a heartworm preventative to keep her safe.

Story
Ginger is a fun and energetic pupper, still full of life and zoomies. She requires a home where she can be active and get the attention she needs. She is a super sweet girl with a tad bit of jealously when it comes to attention. She has some anxiety and always feels more comfortable with a human in the house.
