Story

Gigi is a very smart dog. She does best with one on one care. She has a herding instinct, so she doesn't do well with cats or small kids due to her high energy and herding instinct, but is excellent with older kids. She needs someone who can work with her regularly, take her for walks/runs, and has plenty of space for her to run around in. She enjoys playing fetch, is kennel trained, and house trained. She knows several tricks and is a quick learner. It's not easy letting her go, but she deserves a home in which she can thrive in, and unfortunately I don't think we are a good match for her.

Story

Georgie is about 1.5 yo. We adopted her from Humane Colorado in May 2025 hoping she would be a good companion dog to my other dog. She is incredibly affectionate & loving with people, including my 2 young nieces, but unfortunately she is not good with my other dog, which is my reason for rehoming her. I believe she would be best in a home without other dogs or small animals. She does have some reactive tendencies & resource guarding issues with other dogs. She is very food motived & attached to her humans. She came to us with some fears, some of which she has adjusted to well (i.e. she was terrified of car rides when she came to us but has gotten over that fear). She does very well in a crate. She does well at the vet. She loves walks & has done well camping with us. She would benefit from more training. It kills me to have to rehome her, but it has become unfair to my other dog to keep her around. She truly is a sweet dog that wants nothing more than to be loved.

Story

This is Lola! She is 4 years old, her birthday is 9/15/2021. We adopted Lola from a shelter at the age of 8 weeks, and from day one she has been an absolute lover. Unfortunately, we were unable to get her exposed to children, so she will do best in a home with the youngest children probably 12 or older as she is reactive with littles, especially toddlers. Lola has shown signs of overwhelm at large gatherings, especially when children are around. Lola loves to wrestle, fetch, hike, run, and play with other dogs at the dog park! She is extremely active and will do well with a family who spends lots of time outdoors. She is fully crate- and house-trained, has excellent recall, and knows the basic commands (sit, lie down, stay, leave it, take). She is extremely intelligent and needs lots of mental stimulation. She loves puzzles and is very food motivated (she LOVES doing regular short training sessions using small treats throughout the week). She absolutely loves to make her people happy!

Babs is an absolute sweetheart at 18 months young. She came in after her owner decided her energy no longer matched his own. She is a pretty active girl that needs someone to continue to work on training with her. Her current foster mama says she is very sweet little tornado 🌪 💜. She weighs in around 110 lbs and still needs to be spayed and have her gastropexy before she is ready to be adopted out. However, she is available to meet. She does have some resource guarding we are working through when it comes to food, and she is still learning how to be polite on a leash.

Story

Hi there! Mortimer here, checking in after arriving in Colorado! Im between 1 and 2 years old (no one ever told me my real birthday so the nice doctor at the vet's office took a guess) and the rescue people asked me to tell you a little bit about myself. I love tug of war! I figured i would start with that since its really important that my new home like to play that with me. I also like to play with other dogs, but can get a little scared if they are super loud and in my face at first. I am "crate-trained" whatever that means, and enjoy these things called "leash walks" where i get to go out and smell and see new things. My foster parents say that i have decent leash "manners". I've seen a cat a few times, and wasn't overly interested in it, but i have never lived with one, so I don't know how i would feel about that. I ended up in Colorado after someone dumped me in a very rural part of new Mexico. A nice lady there found me and gave me food and water and shelter which was very nice, but she couldn't keep me so she found some nice people in Colorado to help me find a new forever home!
