Story
Sierra is a five-year-old ~110-pound Anatolian shepherd mix who came from a family in Montana that was unable to give her the care and attention she needs. She was kept outside too much, but we have been working with her since February, integrating her into our family, dog walks, belly rubs and brushing, etc. She's a working/herding/guard dog but is also a goofball and a very cuddly teddy bear who loves people and has done well around children. She does have protective/guarding tendencies that seem to have been exacerbated by her situation at her former home, and would do best in a house with a fenced yard and without other dogs or pets (strong crittering instinct). However, she has also made HUGE progress on her dog walks and hasn’t shown any reactivity to other dogs in weeks. Sierra loves being brushed, hanging out with her people, and belly rubs. She is a very sweet girl and would make a great companion for the right person!

Story
Meet Hassan Breed: Husky / Kelpie Mix Sex: Male DOB: July 17, 2022 Weight: 66 pounds Health: Healthy and vaccinated Hassan is a striking, intelligent boy with soulful eyes and a strong, resilient heart. He was abandoned and rescued from a very busy roadway, where he was dangerously close to being hit by cars. Thankfully, he was saved in time — and now he’s ready for the safe, loving forever home he deserves. Despite his difficult beginning, Hassan has remained loyal, playful, and full of life. Personality Hassan lives peacefully with other dogs and enjoys being around humans. He loves going out for walks, running, and exploring the world around him. Playtime is one of his favorite things — especially chasing a ball or carrying around plush toys. When he first meets new people, Hassan can be a little reserved or cautious. But once he gets to know you, his personality softens beautifully, and he becomes affectionate and loyal. He just needs a little time to feel secure. Hassan does not like sharing his food, so he would do best in a home where feeding routines are managed thoughtfully and respectfully. Breed Info: Husky / Kelpie Mix This is a smart, athletic mix that typically brings: High intelligence and problem-solving ability Strong loyalty to their people Active energy that thrives with exercise A desire for engagement and purpose Hassan will do best in a home that enjoys walks, outdoor time, and mental stimulation. Owner Responsibilities Hassan will thrive with: Daily exercise (walks, running, play sessions) Continued positive reinforcement training Clear structure and consistency Managed feeding routines due to food guarding Patience while he builds trust with new people He is not difficult — he simply needs leadership, routine, and love. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Before Adopting Before bringing Hassan home, please consider: Do you have time for daily exercise and enrichment? Is your home and lifestyle stable long-term? Are pets allowed where you live? Can you provide structure and manage feeding separately if needed? Adoption is a lifelong commitment, especially for an active breed mix Hassan deserves a home that won’t give up on him. Vet Care Although Hassan is healthy and vaccinated, adopters should schedule a visit with their own veterinarian as soon as possible after adoption to establish care and continue his wellness routine. The 3-3-3 Rule First 3 days: Hassan may be cautious and observant as he adjusts. First 3 weeks: He’ll begin to learn your routine and feel secure. First 3 months: Trust deepens, and his loving, loyal personality truly shines. Patience and consistency will help him flourish. Why Hassan Is Special Hassan survived being abandoned and left in danger — yet he still chooses trust. He is playful, intelligent, and deeply loyal once he bonds. He deserves stability, safety, and someone who will show him that he is finally home for good. If you’re ready for an active, devoted companion who will stand by you with loyalty and heart, Hassan is waiting for you If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue. She’s active, friendly, and full of curiosity. Whether it’s chasing a ball, going for a walk, or exploring the backyard, Maya is always up for an adventure. She loves people and enjoys being part of the action—but when playtime is over, she’s happy to curl up near her favorite humans. Breed Info – Australian Kelpie x Terrier: Australian Kelpies are highly intelligent, loyal working dogs with strong herding instincts. Terriers are energetic, clever, and full of personality. As a mix, Maya is the perfect blend of smart and spirited. She’ll thrive in a home that can provide both physical activity and mental stimulation. Expect a dog who learns quickly, bonds deeply, and loves to stay busy. Owner Responsibilities: Provide daily exercise (walks, playtime, or training games) Offer basic obedience training and positive reinforcement Feed a healthy diet and maintain regular veterinary care Include Maya in family life—she’s not a dog to leave alone or chained outside Keep her mentally and physically active to prevent boredom Provide love, patience, structure, and a sense of safety Things to Consider Before Adopting Maya: Time & Energy: Maya needs more than a quick potty break. She’ll do best with a person or family who is active and engaged. Finances: Dogs require ongoing expenses (food, vet visits, flea/tick prevention, grooming, toys, etc.). Story
RUBEN – Male Pharaoh Hound/Staffy Mix | Born 7/30/2024 | 35 lbs | Healthy, Vaccinated & Neutered Meet Ruben, the handsome, bright-eyed boy who’s equal parts sunshine and snuggles! With his expressive ears and a smile that can melt any heart, Ruben brings warmth and joy wherever he goes. He’s playful, social, and absolutely adores being around people. Whether he’s trotting proudly on a walk, chasing his favorite toy, or curling up beside you for a nap, Ruben’s happiness shines through. This boy loves to explore the world but also loves a good cuddle just as much — the perfect mix of energy and affection. Breed Info: The Pharaoh Hound is known for its elegance, intelligence, and playful spirit — one of the oldest and most striking breeds in history. Combined with the Staffy’s loyal and affectionate nature, Ruben’s mix makes him a devoted, joyful, and fun-loving companion. He’s smart, eager to please, and has the heart of a true family dog who will bring endless love and laughter to his home. Owner Responsibilities: Ruben will thrive with an owner who values routine, kindness, and active companionship. He’ll need regular walks, mental stimulation, and time to bond with his people. Continue positive training, provide a balanced diet, and give him the love and patience he deserves — and you’ll have a best friend for life. Things to Consider Before Adopting: Before bringing Ruben home, take a moment to reflect on what it truly means to adopt: Do you have time for daily walks, play, and attention? Are your living arrangements stable, and is your landlord pet-friendly? Are you ready for the financial responsibility of food, vet care, and grooming? Do you have a secure yard or plan to provide structured exercise? Are you ready to commit for his lifetime — through moves, life changes, and all the love-filled years ahead? A dog isn’t just a pet — he’s family. Make sure you’re ready for forever. Vet Care: Ruben is healthy, vaccinated, and neutered. Even though he’s in great shape, it’s important to take him to your trusted vet soon after adoption to establish ongoing care and keep him thriving for years to come. The 3-3-3 Rule & Commitment for Life: The first 3 days are for decompressing — everything is new, so give him space, comfort, and reassurance. The first 3 weeks are when he’ll start learning your home, your routine, and your heart. The first 3 months are when trust blossoms, and he’ll know he’s truly home. Remember: adoption is a lifetime promise. Be patient, love deeply, and you’ll watch him bloom into his best self. Why Ruben Would Be a Great Addition: Ruben has a heart as golden as his sleek coat. He’s that once-in-a-lifetime companion — loyal, funny, affectionate, and endlessly grateful. He’ll fill your home with joy, laughter, and the kind of love that only a rescue dog can give. Every wag of his tail says, “thank you for believing in me.” If you’re ready to be his forever person, Ruben is ready to fill your life with love. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue.
