Story
Handsome Adak, pronounced “ay-dack,” was named after an island in Alaska. Adak was a stray at a shelter that no one claimed. A happy boy that loves attention from his people, Adak will come over to you just to be petted. And if you sit or lie down on the floor he will be right next to you. He is a little reserved when first meeting a new person, but once you’re in his pack, he will be your best friend. Adak is a smart boy who knows some basic commands. This may have something to do with being very treat motivated. He is also a counter surfer so keep your counters clean! An energetic boy, Adak requires 1-2 daily walks; and he enjoys patrolling the backyard at his foster home. Adak also takes time out for a good nap. He enjoys the companionship of other dogs and would be very happy to have a female playmate in his furever home that matches his energy. He does fine with dog friendly cats. Adak is crate trained and rides great in the car. He walks pretty well on a leash until he sees something he wants to go see and then he pulls some in excitement. We think Adak is a Maremma Sheepdog, a livestock guardian breed similar to a Great Pyrenees. At 1.5 years old, he weighs about 80 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on core vaccines and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Adoption Requirements *A minimum 5 ft fence *A home visit *Children in the home should be 12+ *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. We are able to help transport to those states.

Story
Ranger was initially rescued by a Good Samaritan in 2024. He was found in the middle of a road just hours old with his umbilical cord still attached! A nursing mother was found for him & after he was old enough to eat gruel, Ranger came into rescue. Ranger was adopted as a puppy by his foster family but in December 2025, his family could no longer keep him so Ranger came back to us. Fun loving Ranger needs a forever home! 2 year old Ranger is a really sweet boy that loves to play. He enjoys the out of doors and will let you know what he sees and hears with his bark! Ranger likes his chill time too and will sleep in bed with you or in his crate. Ranger does well meeting new people, men and women alike and loves to play with other dogs— likes balls & playing fetch, especially with another dog playing too. And rather then shredding toys, he cobbs them like an ear of corn. Oh Ranger you silly boy! Ranger does well with car rides— he sits on his rear like a gentleman. He knows how to sit, shake and lay down. He does pull on a leash some but is getting better. And leave your counters clear or Ranger will swipe any yummies left behind! We have not done Ranger’s DNA, however we think he’s an Anatolian Shepherd mix with maybe some Great Pyrenees. He had the Pyrenees fluffy white undercoat as a puppy. A great eater, Ranger has the lean Shepherd physique and weighs 60-65 lbs. Ranger is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Ranger is being fostered in Little Rock, AR Adoption Requirements *A secure, visible fence *A home visit *Children in the home should be 12+ *A vet reference with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to help transport to those states.

Story
Meet Howie, a Pyrfect puppy who is happy, playful and affectionate. He is the last of his siblings still available for adoption. Howie is part of the West Plains, MO litter that was abandoned outside when their owner passed away. In his foster home, Howie has become quite confident, you show him how to do something and he'll get right in trying to learn. He's very good at reading cues from other dogs and cats, playful when they allow and will back off if they don’t want to play. Howie has a good appetite and is just enough food motivated to work for a treat. Watch out for his big Pyr paw! He is going through a teething phase and wants to steal everything to chew but does respond well to correction. Howie is 100% potty trained and walks pretty well on a leash. All in all you could not ask for a better puppy! Howie is 6 months old and weighs about 55 lbs. He is up to date on core vaccines, microchipped and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Howie will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract with adopter promising to neuter at 1 year old and must provide vet records at that time. Howie is being fostered in Columbia, MO Adoption Requirements *A secure & visible fence *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to help transport to those states.

Story
Mazikeen aka Mazi lived her life on a chain before rescue. She was severely underweight and malnourished, only weighing 46 lbs. Thankfully a local shelter stepped in and worked with the owner, providing food for Mazi and she started to gain some weight. In December owner agreed to surrender Mazi to rescue and Mazi made her way to us! 6 year old Mazi has made such a transformation since arriving at her foster home and now weighs a healthy 80 lbs. We think she is a Pyrenees/Lab mix and what a beautiful girl she is! Mazi is playful, loves snuggles and being outside. She is friendly meeting people, other dogs, and cats. Her foster mom says she minds well and is easy to train. She can be vocal/use her voice when she wants some love and attention :) Mazi knows how to sit, shake, down, and is working on leave it. She is food motivated and does resource guard her food some from other dogs. We are not surprised at this with her prior history of being underfed, however she does redirect easily. Mazi is potty trained and is trustworthy in the house when you aren’t home. She likes to play with toys for a short period and loves the resident German Shepherd, Jake, in her foster home. They especially enjoy their outside time together. Mazi is a barker— will let you know when the mail carrier or delivery person has arrived!—but does redirect easily. Mazi enjoys leash walking, but does pull some. We are working on that. She loves to go for car rides. We would love for her next car ride to be to her furever home! Mazi is being fostered in Bourbon, MO. Mazi is up to date on vaccines, up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. She still needs to be spayed before she can be officially adopted. Adoption Requirements *A secure, visible fence *A home visit *A vet reference with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to help transport to those states.

Story
1.5 year old Dahlia came into rescue when her owner lost her home and in process of moving left Dahlia behind. Thankfully a wonderful couple rescued her and contacted us to help Dahlia. Beautiful Dahlia is a very silly and happy girl! She can be shy when meeting strangers but is easily won over by treats. Dahlia loves playing “tag,” running around outside and going on walks, and she also loves sitting on the couch with her people. She adores pets and will tell you to keep petting her all day long. Dahlia lived with cats and other dogs before we rescued her. She is the only dog in her foster home, however she gets excited every time she sees another dog. She loves running up and down the fence with the neighbor’s dogs. Dahlia loves her chew toys and stuffies, but doesn’t care for balls of any sort. She walks well on a leash, is potty trained and kennel trained. Dahlia can be wary of new sights and sounds on her walks, and although she is very brave, some patience goes a long way with new experiences. Although she rarely barks, she will bark to alert you that something’s up. If you are looking for an addition to your family, Dahlia will make a wonderful companion and guardian! Dahlia weighs 55 lbs, is up to date on core vaccines and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. She has an appointment to be spayed this summer. Dahlia is being fostered in Kansas City area Adoption Requirements *A secure & visible fence *Another dog in the home *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to help transport to those states.
