Story
Boone is about 22 months old. We adopted him from the local animal shelter. He is very playful and active but he does not understand the difference between a young child and an adult at times. He play bites when overly excited which is not a good fit for our family. Boone loves being outside and enjoys his crate too. He enjoys going to the dog park to meet big dogs. He does well with other dogs as long as they are big and willing to play fight. He may not do well with small, relaxed, or older dogs. He is potty trained and can do basic commands (sit, lay down, shake, etc.). He does good on walks but only if he wears a harness. He also does not bark often. He has never chewed anything up inside, but be careful about outdoor rugs (he loves them). He is a sweet dog once all of his energy is out. He would be a great companion for older children and adults.

Story
POPPY is a beautiful, approx 4yr female, crate trained, house trained, fully vetted (vaccinated & spayed) and HW negative. SHE is about 65lbs, possibly a Weimaraner mix of lab, hound, terrier and part comedian….. with little/no shedding, and a very sensitive tummy and spirit. POPPY is extremely loyal, loving, highly intelligent, and thrives best with a routine which helps her feel safe and secure. She came into our rescue as a very fearful young girl. Human companionship brings her great comfort, peace and joy. Consistency and routine is important so she feels safe, secure, and it helps her understand & know “what to do that is right and pleasing“ for her caretaker. She has great eye contact and a super sensitive spirit, learns quickly as she is definitely treat motivated. She does well with adults when introductions are calm and low key; she has had very little interaction with small children; she seems fine with young adults (15 and older). Poppy is a “highly sensitive dog” ....meaning she is very alert/aware of her companions and environment, and changes to either may cause a short span of anxiety or stress unless reassured "all is good". POPPY can be calm, relaxed while you watch TV or read or work. SHE LOVES her toys and benebones; she has multiple ones she plays with constantly throughout the day. SHE can be self entertaining w/her toys – and prefers not to share with other dogs. Outside she has strong prey drive, loves to protect the yard from squirrels or other critters that might invade “her” space; sometimes during outside playtime she will explode with a few zoomies. Poppy is always ready for a car ride, and will walk well on leash with her harness. Poppy is in foster home located in Miami County, OH. We typically adopt within a 120mile radius of Miami County, OH and recommend a fenced yard for our adoptable friends. Adoption application is online; visit the ADOPTME page at Dream4pets.org
