Story
Ryder is a very good dog. Hes about a year and a half old. Ive had him since he was 10 weeks old and have put in the majority of the groundwork regarding obedience (could use a touch up) and socializing with other dogs and humans. Hes totally good with strangers. Very happy go lucky and excited. Crate trained. He needs 24/7 back yard access or a farm to run around on. He spends time on a farm pretty frequently so he knows what cows and chickens and goats are. He plays well with other dogs. Hes relatively independent but hes not a runner so hes around but not underfoot if you give him the space. He’s a very routine oriented dog and will let you know if you are running late. He’s great with baths and has gotten one every week or two for his whole life. He is the definition of “if you’re gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough”. He’s got more leg than he knows what to do with so he’s relatively clumsy

Story
We got him from a family friend. Born 10-02-2023. He needs someone who has time to play and walk around with him, he loves to cuddle and is very patient when getting bathed (as long as the water is warm). He’ll eat all day if you let him and is smart with interactive toys/meals. He knows how to sit, shake, wait and when given a bowl of food will wait till someone says bon appetite or motions with their hand to go ahead. He enjoys bully sticks and frozen treats/meals. Doesn't have too much experience on a leash and doesn't like getting his ears cleaned or nails trimmed. He’s never shown any signs of aggression. Never had any accidents indoors and is kennel trained.

Story
Reign is a stunning blue female Doberman who we rescued out of a California shelter after she had been there over a month. Reign was very neglected and underweight. We are working on showing her the good life in foster and helping her gain weight! - 45 pounds but should weigh 55 pounds - Approximately 3 years old (this is an estimate by our vet) - Adores people and has no stranger danger. She loves everyone, men, women, gentle kids. She even climbs into her foster dad's lap for cuddles. Total Velcro dog with the typical Doberman lean into you. - Good with other dogs and prefers slow introductions. She is fostered with a female Shepherd mix and her foster family did slow introductions the first few days and it's going wonderful. Both dogs are even sleeping next to each other now. Reign would do best with calmer dogs that are not dominant or very hyper. - No cats. She does seem to have a prey drive. - Great mix of energy when you want it and the ability to relax and settle into the home - Huge food drive. This may be in part to Reign's starvation state but she is very food motivated and a fast eater. A slow feeder bowl really helps her to slow down at meal times. She does need boundaries around food with people and other dogs as she tries to gobble what food she can get. Her foster family feeds her in her crate during their meal times so that she enjoys her own food while they are eating theirs. - Good with gentle kids and fostered with kids ages 7+ years old. We are recommending kids ages 7+ if there are kids in the home. - Very much loves soft beds, blankies and a cozy indoor life. She will appreciate sweaters and jackets to keep her warm during cold Oregon months. - Sleeps in her crate at night and does well with that. It can take her a couple minutes to settle but she then sleeps through the night. - Perfect potty habits in foster so far - Good on leash but does seem interested in chasing cars that pass. Her foster family is working on this tendency since they live in a high traffic area. Reign is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Portland or Tualatin. $350 adoption fee Fostered in SE Portland, Oregon APPLY TO ADOPT REIGN ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
Jimmy wants to be your future adventure dog! Are you an active person with a sense of humor and a love of extroverted dogs? Jimmy would do a cartwheel to land with you! Jimmy was rescued as an injured stray in California. He had a bad neck infection that is now all healed up but his luxurious fur still needs to grow back in. This guy wins everyone over that he meets and is full of personality. - Fenced yard preferred. This guy loves to run, zoom and explore. - 60 pounds and approximately 1 year old - Possible a German Shepherd/Husky mix. He has such a stunning, endearing look to him and gets all kinds of compliments. - Good with other dogs and has a high energy play style - Not good with cats, he tends to bark and fixate on them which is typical for his breed mix. - A lover of all people including strangers! We have not seen him with kids but predict he would be fine with sturdy kiddos that are big dog savvy. - Energetic but also can relax - Doing well with crate training but will need continued work on this - Excellent with his potty habits - Loves toys and chews. He gets a Kong when he stays in his crate and seems to enjoy that. Jimmy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Tualatin or Portland. $200 adoption fee Fostered in Rhododendron, Oregon APPLY TO ADOPT JIMMY ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
Anna is a sweet senior gal with some good years left on her! Her owner passed away last year and then she was a stray from July - November 2025 until she was trapped by our rescue partner in California. Anna is so happy to be back in a cozy home and enjoying the cushy life of an indoor dog again. If you are looking for an easy going companion who is low impact and a pleasure to be around, Anna could be your girl. - Approximate date of birth is April 2017 making her just coming up on 9 years young - Possibly a McNab Collie or Border Collie mix - Medium to lower energy and happy to be with you - Perfect potty habits in foster so far - Good with other dogs and fostered with a small, male senior dog. She loves to play with other dogs and still has some speediness to offer! - No cats. She does seem to have a prey drive towards kitties. - She met children in her foster home and was appropriate. She may appreciate older kids ages 10+ but is not adverse meeting younger kids. - Thankful for a soft bed, hang out time and naps but also likes to explore the property at her foster home and help with barn chores. - Good in her crate and can relax in it. - Can be shy at first with new people but loves butt scratches and quickly warms up. We have not seen her with kids but imagine she would be fine with gentle children. Anna is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested negative and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Tualatin or Portland. $150 adoption fee Fostered in Oregon City, Oregon APPLY TO ADOPT ANNA ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
Lonestar would have spent 2 years in a California shelter as of this May. We saw this sweet boy who was a shelter staff favorite and our hearts went out to him. We had to help this long-timer out of the shelter. - 46 pounds and approximately 5 years old - Possibly a German Shepherd/Border Collie mix. He's pretty petite in size. - Super social and friendly with everyone including strangers. Very attentive to his foster mom and follows her wherever she goes. Really loves to curl up next to people on the couch and cuddle. - Excellent with other dogs - Fostered with cats but does occasionally bark and pounce at the cats. He likely would be best in a no cat home or with highly dog savvy cats and supervision. - Has been excellent with the kids in his foster home ages 6 + years old - Medium to lower energy. He's happy to play but also loves chilling and relaxing in the house. Could be a great dog for a first time dog owner. - Walks pretty easily on leash without a lot of pulling. No signs of leash reactivity towards dogs or people. - Crates decently well and will go in for a high value treat. Has been crated for up to 3 hours at a time so far during the day. Sleeps in the crate at night. - Doing well with potty habits - No chewing household items or destruction in foster - Not super into toys. Low toy drive so far. - Not reactive at fence lines even if neighbor dogs are being reactive at him His foster mom says Lonestar is just a "super nice dog!" Lonestar is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, neutered, heartworm tested negative, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. He will be professionally groomed on 3/1/26. His adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Portland or Tualatin. $250 adoption fee Fostered in Vancouver, Washington APPLY TO ADOPT LONESTAR ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG
