Meet Mila ******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you area not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Mila is a spayed 3 year old female Pitbull/Staffie mix, currently weighing around 40lbs. She is in a foster home in San Antonio, TX, and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is found. Mila plays well with all dog sizes! She really enjoys playtime with the larger pups as they can keep up with her energy. She does well when meeting other dogs, but her foster notes she has a tendency to jump on her canine buddies, and some dogs may not like this. This cutie LOVES food and treats, scarfing down her own before checking to see what her foster siblings have in their bowls. She's not shown any aggression but we recommend feeding her separately just to ensure continued household harmony. Mila is smart, young and very teachable, quickly picking up on new lessons! She enjoys exploring and is super curious. Mila has not been crate trained as there is always someone home and she has access to a doggy door to come and go as she pleases. She has proven herself trustworthy to be left alone unsupervised as long as no food has been left out and the trash cans are empty. For this reason, Mila may do best in a home where someone is home more than they're away. Mila has been around her foster's young to older grandkids (1y, 10y, and preteens) and done well, not showing much interest in them. While Mila would probably be okay with kids of all ages, we generally recommend homes with children who are over the age of 10yrs, or those who are dog savvy. We do not have any history with cats. She is very people oriented and follows her Foster Mom around everywhere. She does not seem to have ever met a stranger, and gets super excited to say hello to new friends! She is affectionate and very cuddly, lying down nearby and asking for pets and kisses. Mila's ideal home would be with a moderately to very active family who has no/older kids, at least one other dog, and who wants a running partner or outdoors companion. She's still young and needs some training, but she is a very sweet girl who craves love and attention, and strives to please with lots of reassurance. If her Furever Family is patient and understanding, giving her ample time to adjust, she will be the very best girl and love you forever! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. ___ Meet Penny – a 2-year-old, 62-pound spayed female Shepherd/Husky mix with a bright spirit, big heart, and a whole lot of love to give. Penny is currently in a foster home in SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up. Penny is a fun-loving, affectionate, and outgoing girl who thrives in an environment where she can stay active, engaged, and close to her people. A typical mix of two intelligent, energetic breeds, she’s curious, social, and always on the lookout for her next adventure—or someone to cuddle. She currently lives with several other dogs and enjoys the company of canine friends who match her playful energy and size. Penny is still learning the finer points of dog social etiquette and can come on a little strong during play, especially with smaller or more timid dogs. She’s shown she does best with confident, medium-to-large dogs who are comfortable setting healthy boundaries. She’s a young dog who’s still figuring things out and thrives when given structure and guidance. While she hasn't been tested directly with cats indoors, she has shown prey-driven behavior toward them outdoors, so a cat-free home is recommended. Penny has been around toddlers and older children, but given her exuberance and herding instincts, we believe she'd do best in a home with older teens or adults who understand dog behavior and can help her channel her energy in positive ways. Penny is fully house-trained and has done well being confined to a designated area when home alone, although she is still learning to be fully comfortable with separation. She hasn’t been crate trained yet and prefers to be close to her people. She may whine or bark when separated, but this stems from her deep bond with her humans—she truly just wants to be near you. She can be trusted loose in the house when items are picked up and food is put away, but like many playful pups, she has a soft spot for chewing on dog beds when bored. Leash walks are one of Penny’s favorite things. She gets excited at first but settles in with guidance. She would absolutely love an adopter who enjoys walks, hikes, runs, or sniffy adventures, as Penny is at her best when she’s given consistent mental and physical outlets for her energy. She’s smart, eager to please, and ready to work—but she also needs someone who will go at her pace and give her time to relax into a routine. Penny is incredibly affectionate and emotionally tuned into her people. She will happily snuggle beside you, lay her head in your lap, and gaze up at you with her expressive, soulful eyes. She loves love, and she gives it back tenfold once she feels safe and understood. That said, Penny has likely experienced past trauma. She flinches easily and shows signs of needing reassurance and calm, consistent care. Her ideal home will be one that provides structure, patience, and understanding, and that doesn’t expect her to be perfect right away. With time and support, Penny will continue to blossom into a confident, loyal, and deeply devoted companion. She can be protective of her space and high-value items like food or toys around other dogs, so her foster separates her at mealtime and when giving treats. These are manageable behaviors that respond well to clear boundaries and respectful management, and she’s made great progress in foster care. Penny is a sweet, sensitive soul who’s eager to bond deeply with her forever person or people. She’s playful, loving, and endlessly cuddly—but she also needs a home that can meet her where she is and give her the time, structure, and love she deserves. With the right match, Penny will be an incredibly rewarding and joyful companion. If you’re looking for a smart, snuggly, and slightly goofy sidekick who just wants to be loved and understood, Penny might be your perfect match. ___ ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Chip, 2-year-old, neutered male, Pit bull mix, 60 lbs. Chip is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS, and can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! As sweet as a chocolate chip cookie, our lovely boy Chip is searching for his forever home! Chip is a playful, curious, and loving dog looking for an experienced adopter who can provide patience, safety, and endless love. Chip is a certified lover boy who loves to cuddle and be around his people! He’s a Velcro dog and will be your shadow everywhere you go. When he first meets new people, Chip can be a bit cautious, but once he trusts you, he’ll be your best friend forever! Chip adores his people, loves to go on sniffing walks (and does well on the leash), is crate-trained and potty-trained, and loves to be outdoors! He is also the king of costumes; he can rock any outfit and does so frequently. Chip has done well with his foster dog siblings, who are calm and enjoy his play style. Chip LOVES to play, and he plays his heart out, so we highly recommend using slow introductions to other dogs and think he would do best with more calm/submissive doggy siblings that would be happy to engage with him in his play. He would also do well as an only dog in the house if he could go on outings every so often. Chip does ask that he not live with any cats, please. Chip’s ideal humans would enjoy having him be their right-hand man, and would understand that when he’s left home alone, he can be anxious without his family. However, he has been working on his separation anxiety and can be crated when left home alone. Chip would thrive with a family that can keep up with his training, and he would love to work with you! Chip would also happily accompany you on your outings- he is thrilled to go on car rides, go on walks out and about, and see the world with his people! At home, once he has finished the initial decompression period, Chip will go full puppy mode and play with all the toys. He has also done well around older children! If you’re ready to get this happy-go-lucky, handsome man to be your forever best friend, please apply below! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DDAR/Dog ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾🥧 Well hello y'all — I’m Moon Pie! 🥧🐾 (2 Years • 70 lbs • Male • Big Goof Energy Included) Yep, Moon Pie — like the sweet treat and like Sheldon’s Meemaw calls him on The Big Bang Theory. Because when you’re this lovable, wiggly, and impossible not to adore, you deserve a name that sounds like a hug. And let me tell you… I am a hug in dog form. I’m a big, lanky, floppy, happy boy with a giant heart and zero shame about belly rubs. I will dramatically roll over, squirm, wiggle, and grin while you rub my belly like it’s my full-time job (spoiler: it is). My foster dad calls me a total goof — and honestly, I take that as a compliment. I’m fully house trained (very proud of this accomplishment) and I’m doggie-door certified. If the door is ever locked, I politely wait like the gentleman I am instead of panicking or causing chaos. On walks, I usually stroll along nicely on a loose leash… unless a squirrel appears, or a potential new friend crosses my path, in which case I briefly but only briefly, forget my professionalism 😅 🐾 Moon Pie’s Fun Facts & Credentials: ✔️ House trained & crate trained (I relax quietly when you leave) ✔️ Uses the dog door like a pro ✔️ Walks well on leash — excitement moments included ✔️ Quiet at home — not much of a barker ✔️ Loves toys and can entertain himself like a one-dog circus ✔️ Knows “sit” and “stay” and takes treats gently ✔️ Super smart, eager to learn, and very trainable I’ve lived with a senior dog and we got along great — though I’ll admit, sometimes I forget not everyone wants to play as much as I do. I’d love a dog buddy who enjoys some playtime or a human who’s happy to help me keep polishing my manners. I really want to be the best boy. Oh — and if you’re into running or biking? Congratulations, you’ve just found your new workout partner. I love keeping pace and cruising alongside you like it’s no big deal. At the end of the day, I’m sweet, affectionate, goofy, active, and full of potential. I’m the kind of dog who brings laughter to your yard, calm to your home, and loyalty to your heart. If you’re looking for a loving, slightly ridiculous, incredibly charming companion with sweetness galore and is Meemaw-level approval… I think we might be a perfect match. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and bring home Moon Pie — the snack-sized name with the full-sized heart. 🖤🤍🥧🐾
