Story
Meet Odyssey! This good boy is 6 years old and came to us as a transfer from a partner organization and is full of energy and joy. Odyssey is a big, happy dog who doesn't always realize his size and can get a little mouthy when excited, but he's also very sweet, soft, and eager to please. He's food-motivated, loves treats, and is already working on basic manners. He would do best with an experienced family who can give him plenty of exercise and positive reinforcement. He could potentially live with younger kids as long as they're comfortable with a strong, energetic dog. He could live with anotehr dog pending a meet and greet, and would prefer a home with no cats. Do you want to be his new best friend? Odyssey is a part of our SCI Fayette Training Program, which means he is currently residing off campus at the Fayette State Correctional Institution where he lives with an inmate. While there, Odyssey enjoys enrichment activities, positive reinforcement and fear-free training. Basically, he lives full time with his new best friends and learns manners to prepare him for you -- his future family! WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌟 Meet Gypsy – “Half the height, double the fun” 🌟 Gypsy is a 2-year-old, 28-pound sweetheart with Cattle Dog coloring and Basset Hound legs—aka the ultimate “off-road edition.” She may be a low rider, but don’t let those short legs fool you…this girl is built for adventure! Gypsy loves her walks, is getting better and better on leash, and would make a fantastic hiking buddy. When she’s not scouting for squirrels (her favorite hobby), she’s happily following her person around the yard, supervising all outdoor projects like the best little forewoman on four paws. She’s playful (sometimes with toys, sometimes with your shoelaces), great with people, and does well with other dogs. Cats are still an unknown, but given her love for squirrel-chasing, they may prefer she keeps her fan club elsewhere. ✅ Dog-friendly ✅ Loves the great outdoors ✅ House & crate trained ✅ The perfect mix of sass, spunk, and snuggles Gypsy is looking for an active family who will appreciate her zest for life, laugh at her low-rider zoomies, and love her for the goofy, loyal, one-of-a-kind pup she is. 🎉 Short legs, big dreams—Gypsy is ready to hit the trails and your couch with equal enthusiasm! Apply today at haydudeequine.org 🐾

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 💎 Meet Crystal – A Delicate Gem Ready to Shine 💎 At 3 years old and 26 pounds, Crystal is a soft-hearted sweetheart who’s still learning that the world can be kind. Coming from a hoarding situation, she’s understandably shy with new people and experiences. What she needs most isn’t fancy or flashy—it’s patience, gentleness, and time to let her true sparkle emerge. Like her name, Crystal is something rare and beautiful. With a little warmth and a lot of love, she’ll transform from a fragile gem into a radiant, trusting treasure. She’s already showing her softer side (literally)—she’s discovered a deep appreciation for all things cozy: soft blankets, soft pillows, and soft beds. She’s decided that comfort is, in fact, the cat's meow...err, the dog’s bark! 🐾 Crystal does wonderfully with other dogs and would do best having a confident 4 legged sibling to help her fit in and feel comfortable. But cats? Yeah, that’s gonna be a ‘nope’ from her — she prefers friends who bark back She would also do best in a quieter home with no small kiddos, where her person was retired or works from home. Crystal doesn’t ask for much—just a safe home where she can finally rest, heal, and learn that love doesn’t have to be scary. Once she trusts you, her affection shines through like sunlight through glass—steady, warm, and endlessly pure. She’ll reward your patience tenfold with quiet love, loyalty, and those gentle tail wags that mean everything. If you’re the kind of person who believes that the best treasures take time to reveal their beauty, Crystal is waiting for you. 💖 ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and help this hidden gem find her forever sparkle. ✨

Story
Meet MooMoo! This sweet 2 year old boy came to us as an owner surrender when he was not a good fit for the home. He is a high energy boy who has tons of energy that he is still trying to learn to balance out -- being that he is so young, he still has tons of that puppy energy in him! MooMoo's name was inspired by... you guessed it... a cow based off of his fur colorings. MooMoo does have separation anxiety, so he would be a 3-week foster-to-adopt to help with this and will need some management in the home. He could do well in a home with children ages 6 and up and could potentially live with another dog pending a successful meet & greet. MooMoo used to be a part of our PAWS program at SCI Fayette Correctional Institute where he was being trained by selective inmates and guards and lived with his best friends! MooMoo is also a part of our Foster-To-Adopt program, which means for 3 weeks our trainers here at Animal Friends will work with you and MooMoo on his behavior and positive reinforcement training to facilitate a gentle transition into their new home. He is the perfect example of our mission: to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals. MooMoo is one of our extra loved residents. Although all of our resident animals get plenty of love, many of them come from backgrounds where they may need a little extra care, extra attention and extra patience. To help MooMoo find his adoptive home, a generous donor has sponsored his adoption donation to help him feel extra loved! Fill out an application -> thinkingoutsidethecage.org All of our animals are altered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines before being made available for adoption.
