Story
My previous owner must have fed me all the time so I ate all the time and now I need to get my svelte figure back with your help. I enjoy walking around at rescue, so I’m not a couch potato. I was in awful condition when I was rescued. My ears had handful of fur in them and I was pretty matted all over. I get along with everyone at rescue. I stay clear of the rowdy ones, but if they want to sit with me I’m good with that. I’m a good girl. I want a family that will keep me safe and I’ll reward you with lots and lots of love.

Story
Hi, Im Theodore Roosevelt, but everyone calls me Teddy (or Sheddy Teddy wink). Im a 4yo, well-mannered guy. Im house and crate-trained, stay off furniture, walk nicely on a leash, and know my basics: sit, stay, come, heel, shake, and more. I don’t bark much. I love being active: running, swimming, fetching tennis balls, long walks, car rides, but Im also a total sweetheart who thrives on affection. Belly rubs, sunbathing, treats, licking the spoon, and being close to my people are my favorite things. I want to go where you go. I live with kids and cats and Im gentle with both. I adore other dogs and do best with a canine buddy. Im best suited for a home with older kids; tiny humans getting in my face make me uncomfortable, though Ive never bitten. My family loves me deeply. Due to a childs medical needs requiring more time, theyre carefully finding me a home that can match my energy and need for companionship. Theyre being very selective because they want this to be my forever home.

Story
I was wandering around down South Atlanta, and the Animal Shelter scooped me up and took me into the shelter. No one came to bring me home and I was deemed pretty old and not in very good condition. I was coughing and tired and hoped my person would come find me, but to my dismay it didn't happen. I stayed at the shelter for several weeks hoping I would find a home before the unthinkable happened. A good Samaritan advocated for me and reached out to Act2Pups and here I am. I'm only about 14 lbs with very long legs. I get along with my housemates and love to sit with my foster mom. When one of my housemates run outside I'm right beside him racing around outside. I jump and run like a gazelle. A 5 foot fence will keep me safe. I'm getting a dental on Monday, Feb 9th and and then I'll be ready for my forever home. I'm getting more and more healthy and enjoying life!

Story
12/30/25 I'm so sad no one has asked about me. I'm really a good boy. I don't know why I'm not good with men. When Act2Pups rescued me from an outside cage during the winter I guess it was a man that left me outside. I listen well and I do what I'm told. I'm a pleaser for sure and I would just love to please Y.O.U. I've been here before...yes three years ago I was adopted and I thoroughly enjoyed my person. Unfortunately she fell and broke her hip and couldn't take care of me any more. I'm not terribly sad, but I do miss having a person of my own. I prefer females, apparently men have not been nice to me in the past. If you know my breed you know I'm pretty strong headed. I get along with all my housemates, both girls and boys. I like to take walks, I walk pretty well on a leash. I love meal time, so be careful I don't get too large! I'm ready for that forever home....calling all dachshund lovers!

Story
Jax was acquired by my son and my wife in 2020 from the Humane Society. He was 2 at the time. Apparently his first owner passed away. Jax is a calm and loving dog. He gets along fine with the two cats we have. We keep him in a crate during the day when we are at work, but he is not usually penned at night. Jax does not get the love and attention he deserves; he needs to go to a better home. I am willing to keep Jax for as long as it takes because he deserves a good home, not a shelter.
