Story
He will be 4 years old on 01/18/2022. I am looking to rehome him due to ongoing behavioral issues. He struggles with severe anxiety and is currently taking fluoxetine. He is mostly up to date on his vaccinations, but is still due for Bordetella and Leptospirosis. He is reactive to both dogs and cats, so he needs to be the only pet in the home. I do not have children, so I’m unsure how he would behave around them. He has previously been in a fight with another dog and required surgery on one of his legs, so he is sensitive to touch in that area. He may occasionally have accidents in the house—I'm not sure what triggers it, but it does happen from time to time. He knows basic commands but tends to respond only when treats are involved. I love him deeply, but I believe rehoming him is in his best interest. I don’t have the time or, honestly, the patience necessary to continue working through his challenges, despite trying everything I could. Please feel free to reach out! Thank you!

Story
Griffin is a wonderful dog. He’s a gentle giant. He can follow commands like sit, down, paw, leave it. He thinks he weighs nothing and wants to be in your lap. He LOVES to play fetch with his ball. He can do it for HOURS. Im dreading getting rid of him but hes recently been chasing our cats and barking at them. I dont have the time to walk him and our cats roam our property and I cant have him injuring or killing them as they are our childrens pets that they are very attached to. Griffin listens very well. When I adopted him hes always acted more cautious around men but does fine with my husband. He definitely is a mommas boy. This is a hard decision and he wont be rehomed to just anybody. He will need a home with out cats though. Preferable someone with a large yard or property.

Story
Meet Zeb, a striking male cattle dog with a resilient spirit and a heart that’s learning how to feel safe again Zeb came from a background of abuse, and because of that, he’s looking for a calm, patient, and understanding home where he can continue to heal—both emotionally and physically. He is generally friendly and wants to connect, but he can be unsure in unfamiliar situations. He’ll do best with someone who can read canine body language, respect his boundaries, and help him feel secure at his own pace.Zeb also has some ongoing skin issues, but the good news is that they are improving with proper care and attention. With consistency and love, he’s already showing positive changes.Once you’re part of Zeb’s trusted circle, he truly shines. He is a wonderful, playful companion who enjoys engagement, companionship, and having someone he can rely on. Zeb is loyal, intelligent, and deeply rewarding for the right person—someone who understands that dogs with tough pasts often become the most devoted friends. If you have experience, patience, and a quiet home where Zeb can finally feel safe, you may just find an incredible bond waiting for you. &#226&#156&#168Adoption fee covers:&#226&#156&#133 Neuter&#226&#156&#133 Vaccinations&#226&#156&#133 Microchip&#226&#156&#133 Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Zeb?Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $350For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJanuary 29, 2026, 6:04 am

Story
Meet Kronk — a medium-sized bundle of pure sincerity, good intentions, and delightfully misplaced confidence.Kronk approaches life with wholehearted enthusiasm, even when he’s not entirely sure what’s going on—and honestly, that’s part of his charm. He’s thoughtful in his own way, deeply loyal, and always ready to help… even if his help sometimes looks like standing in the wrong spot or enthusiastically assisting without being asked.Kronk has a gentle soul and an unexpectedly emotional intelligence. He’s tuned into his people, quick to offer comfort, and happiest when he feels useful—whether that’s carrying a toy around like it’s very important or proudly following a routine he’s decided is the routine. He may pause mid-task, head tilted, as if narrating his own inner monologue: “Hmm. This feels right.”Kronk is friendly, earnest, and wonderfully uncomplicated. He doesn’t overthink—he over-loves. And when things go his way (treats, walks, praise, repeat), you can almost hear it:“Oh yeah. It’s all coming together.” Adoption fee covers:&#226&#156&#133 Neuter&#226&#156&#133 Vaccinations&#226&#156&#133 Microchip&#226&#156&#133 Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Kronk? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $350For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJanuary 30, 2026, 6:28 am

Story
Meet Lewis Lewis is the definition of “play hard, love harder.” This handsome Lab mix has a big personality, a big heart, and a whole lot of enthusiasm for life. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will be your shadow, your cheerleader, and your cuddle buddy, Lewis might just be your guy.Lewis would thrive in a home with a large, securely fenced yard where he can really stretch his legs. He’s strong on leash and gets excited by fast-moving things like cats and cars, so having space to safely run and play is important for him. His absolute favorite pastime? Chasing and pouncing on his beloved Jolly Ball until he’s happily worn out.Lewis has been at the shelter for nearly a year now, and it’s hard to understand why. His distinguished grey muzzle may make him look older, but don’t let that fool you—he’s healthy, energetic, and still full of playful spark. What he really needs is someone willing to look past the grey and see the devoted, joyful companion underneath.Imagine warm afternoons in the yard, Lewis happily tossing his Jolly Ball around, followed by quiet evenings with him curled up beside you, completely content just to be near his person. After so long in the shelter, Lewis deserves a soft place to land and a family to call his own.&#226&#156&#133 Neutered&#226&#156&#133 Vaccinated&#226&#156&#133 Microchipped&#226&#156&#133 Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Lewis? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: Sponsored by Mister GooseFor more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgFebruary 12, 2026, 5:50 am
