Story
Marzi is a petite 9-lb Chihuahua mix looking for a patient, understanding home. She has been through a lot of change and is still learning to trust.. She can be affectionate, smart, and full of love on her own terms. She enjoys daily walks and beach outings, where she loves to explore and can be found playing with her foster sister, Zara a toy poodle. Marzi is food-motivated and knows several commands like sit, down, stay, and wait. She has been working hard on her house-training and has made progress adapting to new routines. She thrives on positive reinforcement and consistency. Marzi can be shy/reactive around strangers, other dogs, loud noises, or when she feels her space is invaded. Because of this, she needs an adult-only home with adopters who are experienced with anxious dogs. She takes daily medication (Prozac and Trazodone) that helps her stay calm. She would do best in a quieter environment. Ideally, she will do best in an environment where she is the only dog.

Story
Max is a 5 year old shephard/husky mix looking for his forever home. We've had Max as a foster. We took him in as his prior owner passed unexpectedly & the family couldn't keep him. He's 60-65 pounds, neutered, current on vaccines, housebroken & enjoys hanging with the family & playing tug of war with his toys. No health issues. He hasn't had a lot of exposure to young children but no issue with visiting nieces/nephews. He gets along fine with our chihuahua but is quite reactive dogs outside the home. Initially he had a lot of separation anxiety but is much, much better now. He is quiet & happy to relax at your feet/nearby. He is a big fluffy teddy bear who just wants someone to love on him. We'd love to keep him but it's no longer permitted where we currently live. We are desperately trying to keep him out of the shelters or being euthanized. We are hoping to find Max a forever home with a person/family that is looking for a furry friend. He will repay love given to him ten fold.

He is very friendly and enjoys being around people. He is submissive by nature, loves belly rubs; and very food motivated, so is easy to train. Seven is friendly around adults and kids, also good with other dogs; he would share his toy and food without getting into fight. He is house trained and crate trained to sleep overnight; a good rider in the car; no barking or chewing behaviors. Seven will make a great family companion pet and a good walking partner! Seven’s rescue story: At three months old, Steven was deserted at the park. For several months, he lived around the park, under the threat of other unfriendly stray dogs and the chasing of animal control crew. Until several months later, a volunteer took him for neuter operation and arranged a foster family for him. We were contacted soon afterwards and started the adoption program for this young life. Rex, neutered male, 2 year 6 months, 31-Lbs. If you would like to give REX a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application About Rex: Rex is a handsome young pup with pleasant personality, he is mellow and friendly by nature. He adapted and thrived quickly in foster care. Being friendly, affectionate, and aimed to please, he can easily befriend strangers and kids; also gets along well with dogs and cats as well. His favorite pastime is hanging out with doggie play pals in the park, car riding and his daily walks. Rex would be a great candidate for any type of family who is looking for a loyal and loving companion pet. Rex’s rescue story: Rex has been wandering in a park for a while before a dog lover noticed him then gave him food. The dog lover is an expatriate in Taiwan who already has dogs at home therefore has no space for Rex. All she can do is to offer food and find support to help Rex. We responded to the request and take Rex into our adoption program. We suppose that Rex used to be a family dog since he is very close to humans, but unfortunately got abandoned. Rex was placed with a foster home after a complete health check. Rex received a clean bill of health and is patiently waiting for his 2nd chance to join his forever home.
