Story
Snowie is a the most wonderful companion you can ask for, she is emotionally very intelligent, she helps in grounding the owner. She has energy like a 2 year old pup. Thank the stars she is physically very healthy. She loves being around humans, and she can fill in the family with the most needed, kids loving dog. She proves to be a study buddy for your kids. She knows how to calm a crying person and hates violence. She is a great dog for people missing their kids. She has been with me for 11 years and the vet says that she has another 4-6 years to be your buddy. My job keeps me so busy that I am unable to be with her home. She is the only child I have had, and I think it’s best for her to be in a home with family members

Story
We adopted her as a puppy from Friends of Madera Animal Shelter. She is three years old and has a lot of energy. She loves long walks and hikes and mellows out really well after exercise. She is very happy and loving and just wants lots of love in return. She is definitely trainable and had been at one point but we fell out of regular training and she picked up bad habits of not listening, leash and territory aggression (toward other dogs, not toward people) but has shown great promise in just a couple training sessions. We have two children (ages 6 and 9) who she loves dearly but needs guidance on how to appropriately play with young children (lots of jumping on them and can be mouthy to show joy). We are looking for a new home for her because the training, exercise, regular care and costs fall on one person in the household and this is no longer sustainable. We love her but she is not living her best life in our home and deserves more attention and training from a new home.

Story
Samantha, spayed female, 2 years & 4 months old, 32-lbs If you would like to give SAMANTHA a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application Samantha is a sweet young pup, friendly and mellow. She enjoys the company of other dogs and gets along well with cats too. She’s very stable and calm by nature, well behaved inside the house, not a barker. She’s potty trained to go outside, also crate trained to sleep overnight. Her favorite pastime is hang out with doggie pals in the park, her daily walks and riding in the car. With some basic training, Samantha will become a superb companion pet for any type of family. Samantha and her siblings were born to a stray mother dog. The rescuer decided to take care of the youngsters, after the mother dog was brutally poisoned to death. When Samantha was rescued, she was very fearful toward people. But after socializing for a few months with her foster family, she started to open up; could be a little shy when first meet, but warming up quickly. Now she is playful and healthy, and patiently waiting for her forever home! Story
Allen, neutered male, 1.5-y-o, 36-lbs If you would like to give ALLEN a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application With a pair of big eyes, on a seemingly oversized head — compared to his small and bony body, little Allen wandered alone around the orchard. He tried to keep out of sight from people, even when the volunteers were doling out food for him. Apparently, he was deeply haunted by multiple attacks in his short three months’ life. After Allen was rescued, his physical revealed that he was severely anemic. Under the loving tender care of his foster family, Allen slowly gained his trust toward people around him and started to play with other dogs in the household. Still, he’s not too comfortable being held by people, but great improvement has shown as time goes by. Allen is now a lively, playful and happy pup when around familiar environment. He is super mellow and well behaved by nature, only a little shy around strangers, especially toward men. He gets along well with other dogs and cats. He’ll be a great addition to family with dog! Scooby, neutered male, 2.5 yo, 42-lbs If you would like to give SCOOBY a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application Meet Scooby! Scooby is a handsome young pup, well-mannered, cuddly and friendly. Scooby is very close to people, and he heeds commands well. He’s very food motivated, so is easy to befriend and thrive in new environment. He is sociable around people of all ages, also good with other dogs and super friendly with cats too. He’s not a chewer or barker, nor would he get into fight with other dogs over food or toy. Please watch Scooby’s videos to learn more about this goofy sweet boy! About Scooby’s rescue: Scooby’s mother and his five puppies wandered to a fishery in central Taiwan suburb. The fishery owner tried many nasty means to drive them away. They were finally wounded up in the shelter. Scooby being playful and pleasant by nature, he was adopted soon. Unfortunately, his owner got into trouble with the police and had to send him back to the shelter. A second owner kept Scooby for a short time but due to his inexperience with dogs, Scooby was given up shortly after. The rescuer decided to place Scooby under the overseas adoption program to give this sweet dog a second chance. Story
Dolly, spayed female, 3y-5-m-old, 44-lbs If you would like to give DOLLY a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application Dolly has an easy-going temperament, very playful and lively. She loves people and is sociable around other dogs and stays calm when meeting cats. She is potty trained and crate trained to sleep overnight; not a chewer or barker. Dolly is most suitable for an outdoor loving family, and/or as an addition to family with dog. Dolly’s rescue story: Driving home during a stormy night, the rescuer spotted a dark moving object in-between the traffic lanes. When she stopped her car to check it out, she found Dolly moving toward her slowly, wagging her tail. She didn’t seem injured but apparently had difficulty moving. Dolly followed the rescuer to her car and off to the hospital they went. The doctor’s diagnostic was that Dolly simply suffered from starvation. Under the care of her foster family, Dolly regained her hearth and received proper training. But being a dog with black color coat has hardly any chance to be adopted by local people. Hopefully Dolly can start her new life aboard.
