AVAILABLE BY APPOINTMENT! Hello! My name is Mato and I'm a 1-year-old, neutered, shepherd mix that currently weighs about 86lbs. My name means Bear and it's very fitting since I'm such a big, floofy, boy! My friends here at PHS say I'm still working on my impulse control and self-awareness so I'm hoping for a family that is prepared to continue my training. Bonus points if you're familiar with large breed boys like me! Since I have such a big and boisterous personality, I may be overwhelming for younger children. I'm a high energy guy that's ready for adventure! Story
FOSTER CARE! Hi, my name is Charlie! I'm a 2 year old, neutered male, Pit Bull mix who weighs around 65 pounds. If you'd like a super smart, affectionate, energetic best friend, then look no further! I've done lots of obedience training with my fosters, and I'm a champ at down, stay, place, leave it, and recall. I love to learn (and I'm very treat motivated), so I'd like to go to even more classes with my new family--maybe even a nose work class since I'm a star at scent work and excel at finding challenging hides. In addition to mental stimulation, I'll need consistent walks (or runs, if that's more your speed).  You could also take me to play dates with other dogs, as I'm extremely social and love romping with dogs outside the home. I have a rough-and-tumble play style, and I do best with dogs of a similar size. Once I've had exercise and mental stimulation, I'm the biggest cuddler you've ever met. I absolutely adore my people and want to be by their side. I could possibly do well living with a resident dog, though I would need a family that can help me work on my sharing! If you have another dog in the family, please bring him or her in to meet me so we can make sure we're a good match. I have a lot of love to give and can't wait to find my forever home. If I sound like a good fit, please ask about me! Charlie ID# A946468 Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by emailing behavior@phs-spca.org You may also submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person. Story
Hello friends, my name is Sasha! I'm a spayed, 2-year-old, pit bull mix that weighs about 52lbs. I'm a playful and happy girl that's ready to take on the world! I love making new human and dog friends! I also enjoy romping in the yard and playing fetch. I'm also super good at Yoga; when I'm not playing, I'm laying and sitting in cool yoga poses! I've been working on some skills in a shelter training class. So far I'm doing fantastic with 'place,' 'leave it,' 'stay,' and 'touch.' I love learning, and I can't wait to continue my training with my adopters! I would like to go home with a family are ready for adventure! I would love to meet the whole family including any resident dogs before head to my new home. For more information, just ask about Sasha ID#A952966 I recently spent time with one of my PHS Volunteer friends! Here's how I did: Sasha is probably one of the most energetic and athletic dogs I’ve ever met. She can be difficult to gear because she is just soooo excited to go out. She is good with all kinds of toys and will play, play, play. She has gotten much, much better on leash. She absolutely LOVES to sniff around so scent work could be good for her. She can still be jumpy at times but overall I have an easy time walking her once we get going. She has a very good sit. Most importantly, she is as sweet as can be. Sasha likes to stay busy and would likely do well with some sort of 'job'. Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Hello! My name is Tiana and I'm a spayed, 6-year-old, Pit Bull mix that currently weighs about 56lbs. I am bursting at the seams with excitement! I am the loviest love bug there ever was! I will come right up to you and paw at you until you give me lots and lots of hugs and kisses. I may be 6 years old, but I still have plenty of pep in my step! I love going on walks and my friends here at PHS say I can jump pretty high! Although I am absolutely smitten with people, I'm not so sure about dogs. I'm hoping for a family who is familiar with bully breeds and is prepared to work on my human and dog social skills.
