Story
Buddy is a little dog with a gentle heart, looking for a patient adopter to help him keep building confidence. After a difficult start in life, he's learning that people can be safe and kind, and he grows a little braver every day.Buddy is quiet, sweet, non-aggressive, and happiest in a calm environment with a predictable routine. He loves cozy beds, sunny spots, and having a safe place to relax. He's not comfortable with touch yet, so he cannot currently be collared or leashed. He is very treat-motivated and has begun approaching trusted people on his own terms. His ideal home is with someone who understands that trust is earned, not rushed. Buddy doesn't need adventures or constant attention. He simply needs patience, consistency, and the freedom to move at his own pace.Buddy would thrive in a quiet home with indoor/outdoor access and a kind person who finds joy in earning a dog's trust. A small, secure balcony or yard is a must.Could you be his person?

Story
Hello! My name is Sparkle, I am a 4 month old, spayed female, Pit Bull, Bulldog mix. I might be around 50-60lbs as an adult. I am an energetic, playful and friendly girl that is ready to go to my forever home. Full of curiosity and lots of love to give, I am always eager to make new friends and explore the world. Like any young pup, I would benefit from continued training to help me grow into a well mannered adult. With patience, positive reinforcement and plenty of love, I'll be sure to make a fun and loyal companion and bring some sparkle into your life! Please bring along the entire family including any resident dogs to meet me before taking me home with you. I can't wait to meet you!  Sparkle ID#A0989408  I recently went on a sleepover. This is what the volunteer said about your time together: Sparkle will make someone or a family very happy! She met and played with several dogs in the community where I live. She loves to kiss! She needs things to chew so always be prepared with a toy close by to replace something that is off limits. She is not house broken. She was starting to get it when our sleep over ended, but she needs more training. She is very smart!!!   Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around! Story
Hello, my name is Bailey! I am a 1 year old, spayed female, Hound mix who currently weighs about 60 lbs. I am a friendly and bouncy gal who cannot wait to meet you! Looking for a new friend to live life to the fullest with? I'm your gal! I am outgoing and love exploring, sniffing, and running in the yard for fun. I have lots of energy, so I'd be a great new adventure buddy for you; we can go on hikes and check out the beach! :) I'm a smart lady, but still learning my manners, so please be patient and ready to teach me. I'd love to meet you and the whole household, including any resident dogs, before adoption. Come in to meet me today! Bailey ID# A0984610 I recently went on a field trip with a PHS Volunteer! Here's how I did: Bailey did really well. We went hiking and finished with a short jog. She was friendly and wanted to say hi to everyone and every dog, but also easily redirected as we walked on. She was curious and enjoyed sniffing all the new scents on the trail. She was a good jogging partner. She also enjoyed running in the yard once we were back at the house, but also settled down in the shade after a while. She was sweet, affectionate and likes all the toys (squeaky stuffed animal, rope toy and tennis ball etc.) I hope she finds a home soon!   Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Hello friends, I'm Nova! I'm a 8-month-old, neutered male, German Shorthair Pointer/German Shepherd mix and I currently weigh 58 lbs. I am expected to grow to be about 75-90lbs when I'm an adult. I'm a sweet young fellow with a ton of energy who loves getting attention and affection when I'm not playing fetch with my favorite toys! Because I'm a working-type dog with a super amazing nose; I keep my nose to the ground, sniffing my next adventure. I would like to go home with a family who is experienced with my breed. I'd be perfect for a family with dog savvy kids 10+. If you have any resident dogs, I'd love to meet the whole family before I move in. I'm ready for lots of adventures, training, and most of all, love! Nova ID#A0988989 I recently spent time with a PHS Volunteer! Here's how I did: What a happy sweet boy. He is pretty good with commands. We played fetch today by alternating tennis balls. That gets him tired quickly. Nova knew how to drop it each time. He can jump real high and is a strong puller but he loves spending time with his people. Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by.
