Story
I'm taking ownership of a neighbor's dog as he is no longer able to care for her. She currently resides in Oakland, Ca, but I'll be keeping her at my house in Burlingame for the next two weeks. Her name is Jules and she is a very sweet blue-nose Pitbull. I would love to keep her longer, but unfortunately, I'm not able to at this time. She is 3 years old and about 40 lbs and is not spayed as her owner's intention was to breed her. Her current owner hasn't taken the best care of her so she is quite emaciated and you can see all her ribs and spine so she will need some special attention in foster before finding her forever home. She loves people and is good with children, but does get very excited around people and gets the extreme "wiggles" so being around small children may not be best. She barks initially at other dogs, but it's an excited bark not aggressive bark. She is house-trained and knows the commands; sit, stay and go to your bed. She is very treat motivated.

FOSTER CARE! Hello, my name is Pogo! I'm a 3 year old, neutered shepherd mix that currently weighs about 50lbs! I'm a fun-loving, playful guy that is great at exploring! My all time favorite thing is to spend time with all my friends! I'm definitely a people dog, after some playtime I love to be petted and cuddled by my favorite humans.  I also enjoy running and chasing toys! I'm an energetic young boy who is eager to learn; my new family will need to be prepared to continue my training and should have experience with rowdy boys like me. I play well with other outgoing, social dogs! Even though I'm amazing, I would not be good with cats. I would like to meet the whole family including resident dogs before I go home. If you are ready for a energetic boy, submit an application in for me Pogo ID# A899789! Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by emailing behavior@phs-spca.org You may also submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person. You must be 18 or older to submit a profile.  Application: https://phs-spca.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AdoptionProfiles_dog2023_fillin.pdf *The application may not work on mobile devices and iPads. FOSTER CARE! Hi there World! My name is Sahara, I am a 2 year old bundle of fun. I am 54 lbs., spayed female husky with a rambunctious personality who's ready for a new adventure. There is nothing I love more than exploring. I would love to find someone with the same wanderlust as me so we can travel together! I get so excited sometimes that I forget to listen, its a husky thing. I would love to be a model citizen but I need help sprucing up my manners. I play well with other dogs that match my playstyle but I might be a bit too rambunctious for little kids. If you are looking for a whirlwind of energy to add some excitement to your life, here I am! Sahara ID# A923559 Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by emailing behavior@phs-spca.org You may also submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person. Story
FOSTER CARE! Hello World! My name is Forrest, I'm a 1 year old, neutered male Shepherd/ Husky mix that currently weighs around 71 lbs., but I'm still growing. I might be around 75-85 pounds when I'm fully grown. I'm a friendly, fun loving dude that enjoys being around people and will literally jump for joy when I meet new human friends. I enjoy learning, and boy do I have lots to learn still, but I am ready and willing! Training is key and I am a smart cookie, so I can't wait to become my best self! I'm a super playful pup and I'd like to meet any resident dogs before going home. I would do well in a household with dog savvy kids that are comfortable around big silly boys like me. If I sound like the dog for you, please submit your application today. Words from my foster mom! 'Forest has settled in to home life very well. He loves to play with both his foster sister Margo and his cat brother, although cat brother doesn't love to play with Forrest. He does well when asked to 'leave it' but has to be reminded often. Forrest is a very high energy dog but learns very very quickly and is highly motivated by both treats and a desire to be a good boy. He is currently getting 2 walks a day with his foster sister, about 75-90 minutes of exercise plus daily training. He is very curious and loving. He was potty trained after 2 days and has had no accidents in the house since.  He knows sit, down, stay, crate, leave it, go potty, and is learning off, heel, and how to walk on a loose leash. He knows to put himself in his crate and eats his meals in there. He sleeps through the night on his bed in our bedroom but loves before bedtime and good morning snuggles. He gets nervous about new people coming to the house but does well if they give him treats and he gets lots of positive reinforcement. He does not love car rides but is learning that they can lead to really fun things like hikes and friends.' I'm friendly and eager to please. I'm looking for a family that is going to play with me and is ready to work on my training and socialization. I love playing with toys and am an all around silly guy. If you are looking for one happy, wiggly new friend than I'm the boy for you!  I would do best in a home with older kids that have been around rambunctious boys like me, so I would love to meet the whole family - including any resident dogs - before going home.
