Story
FOSTER CARE! Hello World! My name is Forrest, I'm a 1 year old, neutered male Shepherd/ Husky mix that currently weighs around 71 lbs., but I'm still growing. I might be around 75-85 pounds when I'm fully grown. I'm a friendly, fun loving dude that enjoys being around people and will literally jump for joy when I meet new human friends. I enjoy learning, and boy do I have lots to learn still, but I am ready and willing! Training is key and I am a smart cookie, so I can't wait to become my best self! I'm a super playful pup and I'd like to meet any resident dogs before going home. I would do well in a household with dog savvy kids that are comfortable around big silly boys like me. If I sound like the dog for you, please submit your application today. Words from my foster mom! 'Forest has settled in to home life very well. He loves to play with both his foster sister Margo and his cat brother, although cat brother doesn't love to play with Forrest. He does well when asked to 'leave it' but has to be reminded often. Forrest is a very high energy dog but learns very very quickly and is highly motivated by both treats and a desire to be a good boy. He is currently getting 2 walks a day with his foster sister, about 75-90 minutes of exercise plus daily training. He is very curious and loving. He was potty trained after 2 days and has had no accidents in the house since. He knows sit, down, stay, crate, leave it, go potty, and is learning off, heel, and how to walk on a loose leash. He knows to put himself in his crate and eats his meals in there. He sleeps through the night on his bed in our bedroom but loves before bedtime and good morning snuggles. He gets nervous about new people coming to the house but does well if they give him treats and he gets lots of positive reinforcement. He does not love car rides but is learning that they can lead to really fun things like hikes and friends.'
