Story
Hi guys, I'm Dino! But you can call me Dino-mite, Dino-saur or Dino-nugget! I am a 4 year old, 76 lbs., neutered male Pitbull/Bulldog mix, who's always the life of the party! I'm an energetic, outgoing fella that loves to be outside. All of my friends tell me how handsome I am! I am one rambunctious boy who loves to run, jump and play. I will need to work on my manners to curb that excitement a bit and I'm a boundary tester, but I love treats and can't wait to learn! I've been a rockstar at Nose Work and can sniff out all the goodies like a pro! I love being around people and already know how to sit if you offer me a treat. If you are looking for silly puppy hijinks in a bigger package, then I'm your boy! Dino ID# A939842 I recently went on a field trip with one of my PHS Volunteer friends! Here's how I did: Dino went on a three-hour off-site trip today and visited three different locations. when I opened the car door, he put his paws up on the back seat and tried to get into the car but couldn't quite get the coordination to make it in independently. So, I gave his back leg a boost onto the door sill, and he quickly figured out how to get in on his own. The first location was Seal Point Park in San Mateo. We walked along the Bay Trail and then up the hill. We only walked about half the park because Dino was taking his time rolling in all the green grass. We were around lots of people, bicycles, and dogs, but managed to keep a distance from everyone thanks to the wide paths. Of course, Dino tried to visit all the dogs—no aggressive behavior, just curiosity. The second location was Parkside Aquatic Park in San Mateo. Dino did more rolling around in the grass, and as soon as we got near the water, he jumped in, splashed around, and stuck his face in the water a few times. Apparently, Dino LOVES water! The third location was Hillsdale Shopping Center. Dino ignored all the people but was confused and hesitant around the larger sculptures on the first level. He was sniffing around with his nose close to the floor most of the time. We did one lap of the first level, and Dino went right up a stairway to the second level. We walked around half the upper level, avoiding the food court, and then Dino descended the stairs without hesitation.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Hi everybody! My name is Snow White, and I'm a 2-year-old, spayed pit bull that currently weighs about 53lbs. I can't wait to say hello—I'm a silly, happy love bug who jumps for joy when meeting new people. I also enjoy 'talking' to my friends: I bark to say hello, and I bark when we're playing fetch, so you know when to throw the ball. I have a lot of energy, but once I've had my playtime and walk, I can't wait to be showered with affection. If you stop scratching me, I'll put my paw on your knee as a way of saying 'more, please!' Did I mention that I'm a very smart girl who excels at nose work? I even find the treats when they hide them somewhere high, and I sit and wait patiently to be rewarded. I'm the whole package: smart and pretty with tons of personality! Please be sure to bring in the entire household, including any resident dogs, to meet me prior to adding me to the family. I'm hoping for a family with adults only or families with older children that are familiar bully breeds like me and have experience teaching dogs how to share and be patient with treats. For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Snow White! ID# A946068 I recently went on a field trip with one of my PHS Volunteer friends! Here's how I did: Today, Snow White went on a three-hour off-site trip and visited three different locations. Once the car door was open, she jumped right into the back seat. During the car ride, she intermittently whined softly. The first location was Seal Point Park in San Mateo. We walked along the Bay Trail and up the hill, avoiding the dog run area. Snow White was all business and did not enjoy taking breaks to appreciate the scenery. If we spent too much time in one spot, she would start whining until we moved again. We encountered lots of people, bicycles, and dogs but managed to keep a distance from everyone thanks to the wide paths. Snow White tried to visit all the dogs out of curiosity, displaying no aggressive behavior. She handled joggers and bikes passing and approaching as well. She initially bolted after birds but, by the end of the walk, she was calm even when walking through a flock of pigeons in the parking lot. The second location was Parkside Aquatic Park in San Mateo. Snow White did more exploring and walked into the water, though not deep enough to get her belly wet. She ignored small children playing in the sand and a group of people who were making loud noises. She glanced in their direction when there was an extra loud noise but otherwise ignored the group. The third location was Hillsdale Shopping Center. We walked one lap on the first level and half of the upper level, avoiding the food court. Snow White ascended and descended the stairs without hesitation. She was unfazed by the various people walking around, including those with unusual gaits, using canes, four-wheel walkers, and toddlers. She walked past them without reacting. The only thing that bothered her was a 48-inch tall stuffed giraffe at the entrance of Go! Calendars, Games & Toys store. She froze for a moment but then continued walking by, ignoring the stuffed animal.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Hi there! My name is Bisquick and I'm a 1-year-old, spayed husky that currently weighs about 50lbs. I'm a total sweetheart that still has some puppy energy. I can be a little timid at first, but once I'm out and about, I'm very affectionate and enjoy playtime! I've been working on my leash skills and the volunteers have told me I've made great strides. Now that my confidence is growing, more of my silly Husky personality has come out to shine! I'm hoping for a family with kids 10 and older that will continue my training/socialization, give me tons of playtime, and spoil me like the princess I am! Bisquick ID# A947429 I got to spend the day in a staff members office and this is what they had to say: Bisquick was so well behaved in the office! We first went to the yard where she had lots of zoomies. She was a bit nervous at first and was panting some but after some sniffing, exploring, and a bully-stick she settled in. She was very patient when I had to gear her for walks and didn't have any accidents inside. Bisquick is truly a sweet and sensitive girl and I would let her visit me again any day!  Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Hey there, are you looking for a Denny's 'Grand Slam'? Well, here I am I'm Denny and I'm a 1 year old, neutered, pit bull mix that weighs about 75lbs. I'm a curious and playful young dog, and if you have snacks, I'll find them! I'm a sweet boy and take my treats very nicely if a bit slobbery. I'm an active, energetic boy looking for a new walking and adventure buddy. Don't forget the snuggles! I love to sit next to or on top of my favorite person. I'm an exuberant player and would do best with similarly matched resident dogs. My friends at PHS have been helping me with my manners! I've been working on my manners in a shelter training class, and I'm doing great! I have an excellent 'sit,' 'down,' and 'touch,' and I'm comfortable enough with a crate that my handler can put me inside and leave the room for a few moments. I'm showing lots of progress with 'leave it' and 'stay,' too. I look forward to continuing my training with my adopters! If I sound like the perfect addition to the family, please bring the whole household, including any resident dogs, to meet me! Story
FOSTER CARE! Hello, my name is Bebe and I'm a 4 year old, spayed, smooth German Shepherd/Pitbull mix that currently weighs about 54 lbs. I'm an affectionate girl that starts off on the timid side. Once I'm comfortable, I enjoy belly rubs and daily walks! I'm hoping for a quiet home that understands that I am a wonderful, but sensitive lady who will need time to adjust into a new setting. Once I'm settled, I'm the epitome of good etiquette. I am calm and demure, most of the time. I've been known to be a fence climber when I want to be with my people. I love the game of chase! Especially with small critters like birds and squirrels so I prefer to be the only pet in the household. My foster family says I'm crate trained (I sleep there at night) and I've had minimal accidents in the house. I'm also a pro at sitting for treats!
