Sequoia

Siberian Husky

Female, 4 yrs 2 mos
Berkeley, CA
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Sequoia is super sweet, energetic, and quite unique, maybe even a little quirky. She’s very friendly and affectionate with people, and not reactive to dogs on walks. She loves belly rubs. Sequoia doesn’t seem to have a lot of leash-walking experience, and likes to keep tabs on her human by circling around you and nudging you along, which could be part of her herding dog instincts. She can be a little anxious and is not particularly interested in toys, preferring to be out and about and observing everything going on. She would likely do best in an active household where she can be engaged. She is housetrained. Sequoia is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in her, please email KSwanson@cityofberkeley.info The first step will be to set up a virtual meeting with their current foster family via phone, zoom, or facetime, to provide you with more detailed information. Following that, if you feel like it could be a good adoption fit, shelter staff will help coordinate a socially-distanced meeting in person so that you can meet your potential family member up-close and personal. Thank you for your patience during this time. We really appreciate your support.

Story
This dog is the real McCoy. McCoy is all heart. He arrived emaciated, but he is healthy now. McCoy has truly blossomed and is adored by all who meet him. He still has plenty of young dog energy, and loves to chase balls. He is great with other dogs, walks nicely on leash, and is housetrained. It’s lucky he came in when he did, and his new family will be very lucky as well. McCoy is very loving and human-oriented.

Story
**ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED** Queen is sweet, and amazingly stubborn. She’s all lovey-dovey, until you ask her to go somewhere she doesn’t want to, and then she plants herself and won’t move! And she is strong. But if you pet her a bunch, she turns into a mush again. Mostly, she prefers affection to exercise, so she’d love to be your couch potato, with occasional visits to the outdoors. She is housetrained and does not appear to have issues with other dogs. Volunteers love her a ton already. Queen is currently in a foster home. ADOPT UNI AND HER ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! UNI’s Adoption Fee has been paid for a generous member of her fan club, so if you adopt UNI, the fee will be waived. Uni is very human-oriented. She gets so happy when you go to see her and can’t wait to get out of her kennel. She’s fairly high energy, but also settles well once out on walks. She really craves human affection and attention. She is easy to walk and fine passing other dogs. She is also playful with rope toys. Uni would love a home of her own where she can be showered with love.

Kay is a lovely girl who has been coming out of her shell and is turning into a social pup. She bonds quickly to humans and likes to stay very close. She doesn’t seem to have any issues with other dogs, and passes them calmly, as long as they don't get too close to her preferred human friend. She is friendly and loving, and will make a great addition to just about any home. Kay is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in her, please email KSwanson@cityofberkeley.info The first step will be to set up a virtual meeting with their current foster family via phone, zoom, or facetime, to provide you with more detailed information. ADOPT CHARLIE AND HER ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! CHARLIE’s Adoption Fee has been paid for a generous member of her fan club, so if you adopt CHARLIE, the fee will be waived. Charlie is tickled pink to meet everyone! Wherever she had been living, she wasn’t treated very well, so she decided to appear on someone’s porch in search of a better life. Charlie is still young but has had way too many puppies. Despite all of that, she is the happiest, friendliest, too-big lap-dweller you will ever meet. Charlie just wants attention and affection from humans. She doesn’t seem to mind other dogs, either. She's just waiting to meet you!
