Story
Bailey is a 10-year old beagle terrier mix who still has plenty of energy and a huge heart. She loves to play, run, snuggle, and do anything outdoors. Hiking, camping, long walks, and especially relaxing on the beach are her idea of a perfect day. When she's not exploring, she's happiest curled up next to her person.Bailey bonds closely with her owner and thrives in a home where someone is around most of the time. She does experience some seperation anxiety, so when left alone, she does best in her kennel with a peanut butter kong and regular daily walks. With the right routine, she settles in nicely. She's very dog-friendly overall, but prefers calmer companions. Nippy puppies and very high-energy large dogs aren't really her vibe. Shed do best with mellow dogs or as the center of attention in a loving home.Bailey is incredibly sweet, loyal, and affectionate.Im rehoming her due to my job. Looking for a family that works from home or are retired. Anyone would be lucky to have her.

Story
Waiting for fur-ever home for 1 year Hello Friends! My name is Junior, I'm a neutered, 2 year old, pit bull/boxer mix who currently weighs around 62 lbs. I'm an energetic boy that loves running full speed whenever I can! I will bound right into your heart with my adorable antics and rambunctious personality. Since I am a big boy that tends to be on the exuberant side, I would do best in a home with dog-savvy kids aged 10+. I'm a smart boy that already has solid 'sit' skills, but I am still working on my leash skills (I'm just so excited). Zoomies and rope toys are my absolute faves! If you are looking for a playful, goofy new friend that can't wait to get outside and have all the fun, please stop by and say hi. Just ask Customer Service about Junior! ID# A0953695 I recently went on a hike with a PHS volunteer! Here's how I did: I took Mr. Junior out for an offsite hike today. As usual, I was welcomed with a lot of kisses in his dorm. Junior was so excited to leave his dorm. He seems very comfortable traveling in the car and hopped in and out immediately all by himself. He enjoyed the views as we headed to the hike. Junior enjoyed sniffing along the trail as he trotted along with me. At no point did he react to other dogs/birds on our hike. He was a good boy. He kept checking on me the entire time. I was thanked with a lot of kisses by the end of the hike! He liked to dip his feet by the beach for a few seconds, but not really a water dog. Junior is a sweet boy and would make such a great companion to anyone who adopts him.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Hey there, I'm Cassia! I'm a 5-month-old, spayed, Pitbull mix puppy looking for my furever home! I'm a super-affectionate lovebug who can't wait to spend time with my people. My favorite thing is to sniff, sniff, sniff all the exciting smells outdoors while running around. I'm working really hard on practicing 'sit', even when I can't contain my excitement! I would do best in a home with some dog experience, since I have lots of energy and will need to keep working on my puppy manners. I'm a great learner and can be quite treat motivated! While I currently weigh about 25lbs, I'll soon grow to a full size of 60-75 lbs. I love to play rough, so I would do best with dogs my size or larger and sometimes prefer male dogs. Are you ready for a loving, playful, beautiful gal to be part of your family? Bring the entire household in to meet me (including any resident dogs) and ask for Cassia ID# A0982940Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Hello there, I'm Dahlia! I'm a spayed, 1-year-old, Pitbull/ German Shepherd mix that currently weighs about 52lbs. I'm a sweet, curious lady that would love to go home with a family with kids 10 years or older that has experience with shy gals like me. My new family should also be prepared to continue my training since I'm still working on my doggy social skills and learning to share. If you have a mellow resident dog, please bring him or her in so we can say hello before I officially join the family! I would love to meet the whole household before going to a home, so come on by and say hi! For more information, just ask Customer Service about me. Dahlia ID#A0959886 I recently went on a field trip with a PHS volunteer! Here's how I did: Dahlia started our journey to Golden Gate park with a drive through the city in my Jeep. Dahlia was very well-behaved on the ride. Staying in the back as we drove; listening to tunes and enjoying the sun and the breeze. I had the roof panels off and she enjoyed the wind on her face as we made our way to the park. She was apprehensive at the start of our hike. It was a warm, sunny day and the park was bustling. As we made our way past pickup basketball and volleyball games, playgrounds and picnics her caution turned to curiosity. She is a a great hiker, never pulling at the end of the lead and coming back to my side when I called her. She enjoyed cooling off in the ponds that we passed and admired the statues and sculptures. She wouldn’t drink water out of the travel bowl that I packed, but was fine drinking out of the lid to my Nalgene. I recommend either a larger travel bowl or a hard sided style in the future. We were in the park for a few hours and she had a blast. She napped on the ride back to the shelter and she seemed to know the way back to her dorm. She did give me that “where are you going?” look as I gave a wave through the window as I left. She is a sweet gal and was very well behaved. She is an able hiker and knows her name and recalls easily when asked.  Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. FOSTER CARE!  Hi, I am Remi, a 7-year-old, spayed female, Catahoula / Pit Bull mix that currently weights about 73lbs! If you are looking for perfection, than you have come to the right place. I am a loving and affectionate senior gal with impeccable manners. I love to cuddle and I'm a really good walking partner. I'm a calm girl who would love to join you on your daily walks. As an older gal, my playing days are a bit behind me so I would prefer to be the only dog in the home, or with a mellow dog like myself. I can't wait to give you all of my love! For more information, just ask Customer Service about me! Remi ID# A0968119 My foster family thinks I'm swell! Here's how I'm doing: We have absolutely loved having Remi in our home. She is the sweetest most happy gal that never fails to find your face to shower with kisses. She loves her long walks just as much as she loves a chill movie night, she has lots of spots to curl up but finds the small dog bed the comfiest, despite the large one beside it. Don’t let her age fool you, Remi is full of energy and play time, she loves fetch but make sure you have two balls because she is still learning to drop :) She especially loves old soccer balls over tennis, but as long as you're playing with her she will love it. Remi will squeeze her way into any heart and hopefully your home!   Sign up to meet me! Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can inquire about an in person meet and greet with me by emailing your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to adoptinquire@phs-spca.org You must be 18 or older to submit a profile.  Application: https://phs-spca.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AdoptionProfiles_dog2023_fillin.pdf *The application may not work on mobile devices and iPads. Story
Good Afternoon, my name is Russell and I'm a Wilderness Explorer in Tribe 54, Sweat lodge 12. Are you in need of a new puppy today? I'm an 8-month-old, Bull Terrier mix that currently weighs 50lbs, but will possibly be between 70 to 80lbs as an adult. I'm an energetic, and playful guy that would love to go home with a family that is familiar with Bull Terriers and large breed dogs. My friends here at PHS say that I'm a rough and tumble kind of guy that loves physical play, but I can also be fairly stubborn (similar to a toddler). Because of my rambunctious nature and playstyle, I would do best in an adult only household or one with teens. My future family should be prepared to teach me the rules but also be patient and loving enough to give me space to learn. I promise I'm a total sweetheart; I just have to get my wiggles out first! If you are looking for puppy kisses and wiggly tails, I can deliver! Russell ID# A0978323 I recently went on a fieldtrip with a PHS volunteer! Here's how I did: Russell is so sweet and friendly. He was not at all sure about getting in my car. He is also still too small to jump in on his own. I spent some time getting him familiar with the car using treats but ultimately had to pick him up and put him in. He was a great car passenger. I went straight to my house and walk from there since it's a quieter neighborhood. He was a little hesitant about going into our house but decided to be brave and check it out! He was very good on our walk. He checks in with his handler frequently and likes being a good boy. We went to the big field at the school near my house and hung out for a while. While he was curious about his surroundings, he was also very focused on me and interacting with me. I had him on a long line, and he was super good! We played a little bit of fetch with the ball and then just sat while he chewed the ball. We walked back to my house, and he investigated all the things. He is pretty good in nosework, so we played some 'find it'. He did great. He went into the crate several times and tolerated me closing the door. He wasn't scared or anxious. He sat on the couch with me for a bit. He's a very sweet, affectionate guy. Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by.
