Story
Hello there, I'm Dahlia! I'm a spayed female, 2-year-old, Pitbull/ German Shepherd mix that currently weighs about 52lbs. I'm a sweet, curious lady that would love to go home with a family with kids 10 years or older that has experience with shy gals like me. My new family should also be prepared to continue my training since I'm still working on my doggy social skills and learning to share. If you have a mellow resident dog, please bring him or her in so we can say hello before I officially join the family! I would love to meet the whole household before going to a home, so come on by and say hi! For more information, just ask Customer Service about me. Dahlia ID#A0959886 I recently went on a field trip with a PHS volunteer! Here's how I did: Dahlia started our journey to Golden Gate park with a drive through the city in my Jeep. Dahlia was very well-behaved on the ride. Staying in the back as we drove; listening to tunes and enjoying the sun and the breeze. I had the roof panels off and she enjoyed the wind on her face as we made our way to the park. She was apprehensive at the start of our hike. It was a warm, sunny day and the park was bustling. As we made our way past pickup basketball and volleyball games, playgrounds and picnics; her caution turned to curiosity. She is a a great hiker, never pulling at the end of the lead and coming back to my side when I called her. She enjoyed cooling off in the ponds that we passed and admired the statues and sculptures. She wouldn’t drink water out of the travel bowl that I packed, but was fine drinking out of the lid to my Nalgene. I recommend either a larger travel bowl or a hard sided style in the future. We were in the park for a few hours and she had a blast. She napped on the ride back to the shelter and she seemed to know the way back to her dorm. She did give me that “where are you going?” look as I gave a wave through the window as I left. She is a sweet gal and was very well behaved. She is an able hiker and knows her name and recalls easily when asked.  Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Hello, my name is Bailey! I am a 1 year old, spayed female, Beagle/Hound mix who currently weighs about 47 lbs. I am a friendly and bouncy gal who cannot wait to meet you! Looking for a new friend to live life to the fullest with? I'm your gal! I am outgoing and love exploring, sniffing, and running in the yard for fun. I have lots of energy, so I'd be a great new adventure buddy for you; we can go on hikes and check out the beach! :) I'm a smart lady, but still learning my manners, so please be patient and ready to teach me. I'd love to meet you, and any resident dogs, before adoption. Come in to meet me today! Bailey ID# A0984610 I recently went on a field trip with a PHS Volunteer! Here's how I did: Bailey did really well. We went hiking and finished with a short jog. She was friendly and wanted to say hi to everyone and every dog, but also easily redirected as we walked on. She was curious and enjoyed sniffing all the new scents on the trail. She was a good jogging partner. She also enjoyed running in the yard once we were back at the house, but also settled down in the shade after a while. She was sweet, affectionate and likes all the toys (squeaky stuffed animal, rope toy and tennis ball etc.) I hope she finds a home soon!   Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Hey there all you gamers! It's-a Me, Mario! I'm a 9 month old, neutered male Shepherd mix pup that currently weighs around 40lbs., but I'm still growing and could be around 60lbs. as a full-grown adult.  Like the Mario Bros, I am a silly, energetic, and active young dude that's ready to go! I'm an outgoing and playful pup that can do really well with other doggos, as long as they enjoy my rough and tumble playstyle! I would love to go home with a family that is familiar with puppies and are ready to provide lots of exercise, training, socialization, and of course love! Before going home, I would love to meet everyone in the household, including any resident dogs, so bring everyone when you come and see me. Story
Hey there all you Video game fans, my name is Luigi! And like the Super Mario Bros, I am a silly, energetic, and active young guy. Right now, I'm about 9 months old and weigh about 40lbs. I'm still growing and could reach around 60lbs as a full-grown adult. I’ve been learning a lot about the great big world and am feeling more comfortable in new settings, but I’m still a little unsure sometimes. Because of this, I prefer adult only households or ones with older children (10+). I'm looking for love and guidance with a family who can help me gain confidence and figure things out! Once I feel comfortable, I can be a sweet and silly boy, so be ready with tennis balls to play fetch with me when I'm not enjoying awesome sniffaris while on fun walks! If I sound like the perfect companion, come on by and ask for me! I would love to meet the whole family including any resident dogs before officially coming home, so please bring everyone. I can't wait to meet you! Luigi ID#A0985008 I recently went on a sleep over! Here's how I did: Luigi is an incredibly sweet, gentle boy with a heart of gold. His favorite thing in the world is playing fetch, he's definitely a ball enthusiast and will happily chase a toy over and over again!  He's doing great with his potty training and is learning quickly with positive reinforcement and treats. Like any young pup, he's still building confidence, especially on walks, but he's making progress every day as he explores the world at his own pace. One of Luigi's best qualities is how much he loves everyone he meets. He gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and, after a brief introduction, is always ready to make a new best friend. He's equally friendly with people and absolutely adored meeting families and children at the local farmers market. Luigi is an affectionate, people-oriented pup who thrives on companionship. He would do especially well with a family where someone is home often or can continue helping him build confidence when left alone. He's eager to please, non-reactive, and has such a gentle temperament that he's sure to blossom with a little patience, love, and consistency.  If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who enjoys playtime, dog friends, and snuggling with his favorite humans, Luigi could be the perfect addition to your family.   Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by.
