Story
Meet Dylan: Dylan’s story is one of love, growth, and second chances. This 10-month-old Mastiff is currently in Northern Illinois. She was recently returned to the original shelter she was adopted from, and we are helping advertise her in hopes that she finds the forever home she truly deserves. Dylan is available through Orphans of the Storm. View Dylan’s full profile here: https://orphansofthestorm.org/dog-details/?idParam=130992 Dylan is a goofy, affectionate, super squishy-faced puppy who absolutely loves her people. She is wonderful with kids and adores them, but because she’s a happy, bouncy 70-pound puppy, she can accidentally knock over smaller children during play. She would do best in a home with older kids who can handle her size and enthusiasm. She is dog friendly and enjoys playing, especially with dogs who match her playful energy. However, she can be a little selective with certain dogs and has shown some leash reactivity. Because of this, Dylan would benefit from a confident owner who is committed to working with her through training and continued exposure. With consistency and guidance, she has so much potential to grow into an incredible companion. Dylan is house trained and crate trained, giving her a solid foundation to build on. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and ready for a home that can provide structure, patience, and leadership while embracing her joyful personality. She would thrive in an active household with experienced dog owners who understand large-breed puppies and are willing to invest time in training and helping her become the best dog she can be. Age: 10 months Gender: Female (Spayed) Weight: 70 lbs Breed: Mastiff Spayed/Neutered: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Leash Manners: Needs work (can be leash reactive) Good with Dogs: Yes (playful, but somewhat selective) Good with Cats: Unsure Good with Kids: Yes (best with older kids) Dylan is a loving, loyal girl with a huge heart. She just needs the right environment, structure, and guidance to truly shine. With the right person by her side, she has the potential to become an amazing lifelong companion.

A committed home is required for him to make the trip, and we’re hopeful the right person is out there. Meet Chad Chad is a 1-year-old Siberian Husky who is ready for a fresh start. He came into the shelter as a stray and, sadly, no one came to reclaim him. Now he’s hoping someone will give him the second chance he deserves. Chad is a silly, goofy boy with a sweet and affectionate personality. He absolutely loves belly rubs and hugs and can be just a bit of a velcro dog — happiest when he’s close to his people. He’s very treat motivated, which makes him eager to learn and fun to work with. In new situations, Chad can be a little unsure and may do an adorable belly crawl while he builds confidence. Once he feels comfortable, his playful side shines. He enjoys playing with other dogs and tends to be more submissive during play, especially with his friend Karen. He would likely do well with another friendly dog. Cats and kids are currently unknown. Chad weighs 45 lbs, is heartworm negative, and is not yet neutered. He has decent leash manners and, like any young husky, will benefit from continued structure, exercise, and positive reinforcement training. Age: 1 year Gender: Male (not yet neutered) Weight: 45 lbs Breed: Siberian Husky Spayed/Neutered: No Potty Trained: Unsure Crate Trained: Unsure Leash Manners: Good Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested Good with Kids: Unsure Chad is available for the 3/21/26 transport and is ready to keep moving forward. He would love a foster or adoptive home to help make that happen. If you’re able to foster or adopt, please apply today. www.muttlife.org __________ Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up-to-date dewormer, vaccinations, heartworm prevention (age appropriate), and certified veterinarian inspection within 30 days of adoption. __________ Review adoption requirements and ensure you meet the necessary criteria to apply! https://www.muttlife.org/adoption-policies _________ ADOPTION PROCESS: 1.) Apply: Fill out an adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.) Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.) Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: After approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5-day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process, we conduct a home visit either in person or via Zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI, or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $150 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old. **Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**

A committed home is required for her to make the trip, and we’re hopeful the right person is out there. Meet Mocha Mocha is an approximately 1-year-old Lab/Doodle mix who is ready for a fresh start. She and her siblings (Latte and Expresso also available) were found as an abandoned litter and brought to a kill shelter in Arkansas when they were young pups. After being moved around multiple times, they are now at a smaller local shelter and being fostered on someone’s property, though they do not live inside the home. Mocha has spent much of her young life waiting and bouncing between places, and she deserves stability and a forever family. Mocha, Latte, and Expresso are the last three remaining from their litter. There were a few more siblings who have since been adopted, including Whiskers who got adopted off our 2/14 transport. She has a sweet, friendly personality and enjoys being around people. Mocha does well with dogs and is good with kids. She has not yet been tested with cats, but would likely do fine with proper introductions. Mocha weighs about 45 pounds, is spayed, and heartworm negative. Because she has not been living inside a home, she may need guidance with house training and leash manners, but she is young and ready to learn. With consistency and love, she is sure to blossom into a devoted companion. She is everything you could want in a companion and is more than ready to find her perfect soft place to land. This super sweet senior girl made it safely to Wisconsin in December after being found as a “stray” in Georgia alongside her buddy, Scooby. Despite wearing matching collars and leashes, they heartbreakingly ended up in a shelter. Scooby has since been adopted, and now it’s Sheeba’s turn to find her happily-ever-after. Sheeba stayed behind in Georgia to complete heartworm treatment after testing positive at the shelter. She handled treatment like a champ and is now healthy, thriving, and ready for a home of her own. Sheeba is likely around 8–9 years old, and while she may be a senior, she has so much love left to give. She is wonderful with kids, great with other dogs, quiet and rarely barks, fully potty trained, and crate trained (though she does not need a kennel). She is easygoing and low maintenance. She walks nicely on a leash, does great at vet visits, and truly never meets a stranger. She is calm, gentle, and happiest simply being near her people. She doesn’t ask for much — just love, comfort, and a cozy place to call home. After a rough start and a long journey to get here, Sheeba deserves her second chance. She is a low-key, super sweet girl just waiting for someone to choose her. She is officially out of the neglect and hoarding situation she endured in Arkansas and is doing very well as she settles into her new life. Marble is around 1.5 years old and weighs about 65 pounds. She has already shown incredible resilience. Despite her difficult start, she is a very sweet, loving, and loyal girl who bonds closely with her people. She truly just wants to be near her humans and be part of the family — and she always looks like she’s smiling with her eyes when she’s with the people she loves. Since arriving in Wisconsin, Marble has been thriving. She is doing well with potty training and is good in her crate. She walks pretty well on a leash and continues to improve each day. She has also been doing well off leash in her foster’s yard, enjoying the freedom and gaining confidence. One of Marble’s absolute favorite things? A tennis ball! She LOVES playing fetch and gets super goofy and playful, running around the yard with it. It’s adorable to watch her light up and let her silly personality shine — she’s truly super cute when she gets going. Marble gets along with other dogs, has lived around cats, and is likely good with kids. She is gentle, affectionate, and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend.
