Story
SEEKING DOG OBSESSED ADOPTER THAT WANTS A RUNNING PARTNER AND A BEER GARDEN COMPANION. MUST HAVE FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE AND PATIENCE TO HELP LOLA LIVE HER BEST LIFE. Lola is an almost-one year old, 27 lb mixed breed. She is a social butterfly who packs big dog energy into a perfectly portable size. She loves playing with doggy friends, zoomies, taking walks, naps by your side and meeting new people. Lola is food motivated—making her a great candidate for continued training. She is also your classic “shadow dog,” happiest when she’s close to her favorite people and taking part in whatever you’re doing. Lola's ideal match is someone that is home most of the day or willing to bring her on adventures. She has crate anxiety and does best when allowed to free roam in a dog-proof space when left alone. Lola is good with little kids, but she has puppy energy and jumping is her love language, so teen or adult-only home is required. Lola experiences occasional urinary “oopsies” moments when she has strong emotions, like being excited to see you when you return home (which, to be fair, is because she just loves people that much!). Her foster family says this is a manageable behavior and they will share tips and tricks with adopter. We are hopeful that she will outgrow it, but she needs an adopter that is committed to loving her through thick and thin. If you’re looking for a best friend, Lola is ready and waiting! Story
Chad is an agile 1 year old Rat Terrier mix with long legs and a goofy personality He does best with consistent people who provide structure and a sense of safety, which helps him continue to grow and feel secure. He is more dog-focused than people-focused and truly enjoys being around other dogs. He tends to do best with female dogs but can also be matched with the right male, as he is not dominant. While he isn’t overly clingy, he will seek out affection from his people at times. Chad is a quiet dog who rarely barks, both in and out of his crate. He has good house manners and only chews his own toys. He is fully potty trained and crate trained. He naturally matches the energy of the dogs around him, which makes him easy to integrate into a home with other dogs. He enjoys car rides and long hikes with his people, but does best in calmer, more predictable environments. Chad is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. He is not a match for a home with cats or with children under 13. An adopter committed to respecting his parameters will help ensure his continued success. Story
DO YOU HAVE THE LOVE, TIME AND EXPERIENCE TO CARE FOR A DIABETIC PUPPY? We are looking for a special family ready to welcome Princess into their home and give her a safe space to thrive. Princess is 8 months old, 25 pounds, and spayed. We don't know her breeds but we think she looks like a kelpie or rat terrier mix. Her owner surrendered her at 4 months old when she became severely ill. Princess has traveled between multiple rescues and states and she is now settled into her Wisconsin foster home. We are committed to learning all about canine type 1 diabetes and sharing that knowledge with you! Princess is a gem; she is a happy girl who enjoys leisurely neighborhood walks, playing with her dog friends and chewing on stuffies. She loves her people and older kids, but she needs proper introductions due to declining vision. She is best matched in a quieter routine-oriented home. She is great with calm dogs and ignores cats. She is house trained, but needs frequent potty breaks. Princess receives Insulin shots, eats a prescribed diet and requires daily monitoring of her blood glucose levels. Her new owners must be prepared to invest in her ongoing care. She is on a set schedule and must eat and get her insulin shot at the same time every morning and night. We are accepting applications to adopt Princess and we hope you'll consider opening your heart and home to this sweet girl. She deserves to be the center of her owner's universe. She is worth the investment and she'll pay you back by following you around the house, falling asleep with her head on your shoulder and snoring in your ear. She also never misses a chance to show you her pearly white teeth. With proper blood sugar management and diet, she can live a normal and happy life! Please consider applying or spreading the word! Story
`Meet Ezra:Ezra is 3 years old and 60 lbs of brindle beauty. Ezra walks well on leash, loves walks and outdoor adventures, and is continuing to learn commands. He’s been searching for his forever home since January 12th, over three months without a family to call his own. He’s incredibly cuddly, affectionate, and looking for a forever family who can continue being consistent with his training while giving him lots of love and snuggles. Ezra has been living with another dog in his foster home, and after slow introductions and proper interactions, he’s been doing very well.Cat friendly: We suspect he may be too much for cats.Energy level: Medium — this guy loves being outside but is equally happy snuggling up with his people.Kid friendly: Because he can be a little jumpy when excited, we recommend kids 8+.If you’d like to meet Ezra, please reach out to her foster parents at danielle.loberg3@gmail.com or or contact Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission.`
