Story
Chad is an agile 1 year old Rat Terrier mix with long legs and a goofy personality He does best with consistent people who provide structure and a sense of safety, which helps him continue to grow and feel secure. He is more dog-focused than people-focused and truly enjoys being around other dogs. He tends to do best with female dogs but can also be matched with the right male, as he is not dominant. While he isn’t overly clingy, he will seek out affection from his people at times. Chad is a quiet dog who rarely barks, both in and out of his crate. He has good house manners and only chews his own toys. He is fully potty trained and crate trained. He naturally matches the energy of the dogs around him, which makes him easy to integrate into a home with other dogs. He enjoys car rides and long hikes with his people, but does best in calmer, more predictable environments. Chad is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. He is not a match for a home with cats or with children under 13. An adopter committed to respecting his parameters will help ensure his continued success. Story
EVERY PRINCESS DESERVES A FAIRY TALE ENDING. Are you ready to welcome Princess, a 1 yr old diabetic dog, into your heart and home? Individuals with medical, veterinary or T1D experience are encouraged to apply. But if you don't have experience, that's okay too! We will teach you! 😊 Princess is a young dog with an old soul and she'll make a wonderful, goofy, loyal companion.🩷 We are looking for a special family to adopt Princess. Our goal is to make this a smooth transition and we are here to support you with training and $200 in donated diabetic supplies. Princess is an (almost) one-year-old, spayed 35 pound mixed breed. We don't know her breeds but we think she looks like a kelpie or rat terrier mix. Princess was abandoned by her owner when she became critically ill. She then traveled between multiple facilities and states before settling into her long-term Wisconsin foster home. Her foster family is very familiar with type 1 diabetes and is ready to share their knowledge with you. They are committed to being a long-term resource for any local adopter, including advising on care and boarding for vacations. Princess is a gem; she is a happy thriving girl who enjoys neighborhood walks, playing with her dog friends and chewing on stuffies. She is house and crate trained. Gentle on leash. Quiet. Loves car rides. She is best matched in a routine-oriented home, with adults or teen children. She is great with calm dogs and lives with cats. Princess receives daily Insulin shots, eats a set diet and requires monitoring of her blood glucose levels. Her new owners will need to invest in her ongoing care. We are accepting applications to adopt Princess and we hope you'll consider making a difference in this special girl's life. She is worth the investment and she'll pay you back by following you around the house, falling asleep with her head on your shoulder and snoring in your ear. She also never misses a chance to show you her pearly white teeth. With proper blood sugar management and diet, she should live a normal and happy life! Please consider applying or spreading the word! We know her people are out there! OUT OF STATE ADOPTERS WILL HAPPILY BE CONSIDERED FOR A WELL-MATCHED FAMILY WILLING TO TRAVEL. Story
Jade is a 6 month old puppy, who currently weighs 30 pounds. One of the nice things about Jade is that she's had the chance to spend her puppyhood living in a home, not sitting in a shelter. We've had the privilege of watching her grow from a tiny puppy into such a sweet, enjoyable companion to have around. She’s a social gal who does great out in public and is happy to tag along for whatever you're doing. She loves toys, enjoys playing fetch, and is always curious about what's going on around her. She's crate trained, doing well with potty training, and already understands a lot about everyday life. Jade's family should go into puppyhood with reasonable expectations. She'll occasionally make bad decisions, forget her manners, and need some extra guidance, just like any puppy her age. But if you're looking for a fun, social, easygoing dog who is going to be happy doing life with you, Jade is your girl. Jade is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly preventatives. Story
Teddy is a chocolate poodle, estimated to be seven years old. He was rescued from a breeder and now enjoys a fresh start in life. Teddy is cuddly, quiet, and curious, often preferring to rest his head on your lap. While he doesn't love his crate, he appears to be partially housetrained and does well with a consistent routine. He loves to spend time with his human, watching Netflix and napping. Teddy may be timid for the first few days but will gradually come out of his shell. He gets along well with people, kids, and dogs, although he hasn't shown much interest in playing with other dogs so far. Teddy co-exists well with dogs of all sizes but would prefer a chill furry friend than a dog with energy. Teddy is up to date on all his vaccines and has been microchipped. If you’re searching for a dog who can binge-watch entire seasons without protest—or commentary—Teddy might just be your ideal companion. He’s not one for wild parties or late-night barking sprees, but he’ll happily judge your snack choices from his spot beside you. Teddy excels at perfecting the nap—a skill some of us envy daily.
