Story
Who out there is looking for a good ol’ classic DOG. You know, the kind your grandparents had when you were a kid. The kind of dog that wags its tail at everyone, loves to ride in the truck, swim in the pond and go for walks. The kind of dog that’s up for anything at anytime but can chill when needed. The classic Heinz 57 breed of this and that and it’s all good. Julia is that kind of dog. She is around a year old 45 lbs and ready for a home. She is a fast learner and will catch on to new routines quickly. She crates well and is good out in a kennel when needed. She could do well as an only dog or with a playmate but we wouldn’t recommend her for homes with older dogs or cats as she does enjoy playing with friends. She is located in Warrenton Virginia but can be adopted to most anywhere with transportation. #hmrjulia for more pics. Story
Excellent opportunity to adopt an adult dog with a solid training foundation. This girl already earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen award and she will be testing for her Advanced title shortly. Housebroken and easy to have around the house she isn’t a chewer and has no separation anxiety. Definitely has some Lab type breeding she is an active girl and enjoys lots of various activities. She is easy on a leash and a good walking or jogging partner. She is an engaging partner for training work and could easily transition into a competitive partner for someone looking to get into pretty much any dog sport. Rides in a car very well and has no issue with long trips. She is calm and confident in new surroundings and handles herself with grace in most any environment. If you feel this beautiful girl could be a good fit please fill out an application and a volunteer will be in touch. Story
Eve is a 2 yr old 22 lbs Dachshund/Corgi mix. She was living loose in a pack until being trapped and taken to shelter. She has learned that humans are pretty nice and she loves her foster mom very much. She thinks she should follow her EVERYWHERE. She does cry for a bit when put in laundry room at night or when left during day but she does settle. She also will alert you to any person coming your way and makes an effective and portable guard dog. She is vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped and goes in for a spay on 5/28. She needs to stay local to Warrenton VA until, after the spay but can go on a foster to adopt option locally. She is dog friendly, housebroken, hasn’t been crated yet and she shows no aggression towards cats. She could adjust to a variety of homes with an adopter willing to help her along. Story
Meet Buxton! This stunning boy is a courtesy post and is not a Hail Mary Resuce dog. Please share his post so we can hopefully help find him an ideal home. Buxton is in Louisa, Virginia and is 82 lbs and turned 3 yrs old in September of 2024. He is fully vetted and has been well cared for by his owners who have had him since 8 weeks old. While they have prior Rottie and Dobie experience Buxton has been a challenge from the get go and sadly due the a daughters medical issues the time to keep Buxton happy and thriving doesn’t exist anymore. He knows his basics, (will post videos in comments) he is housebroken, crates quietly, loves truck rides and enjoys trips to Tractor Supply for cookies. He does live in a home with other dogs and some cats, however he is very demanding of being his mom’s favorite and can be aggressive towards the other dogs and if he gets bored enjoys irritating the cats. He has seen livestock from the fence and has been calm but hasn’t been with any animals. A home with time and knowledge to provide a structured environment for him will be ideal. He was doing better when his family had more time to give him attention. He is social when out of his house but becomes territorial at home and will need to be worked with to be polite when strangers come to visit. If you are interested in Buxton please send us a message and we will reply with his owners contact info. You can also fill out and application and we can forward that to the owner. Any shares would be greatly appreciated and please no negative comments. More photos and videos will be posted in comments. Thank you 🙏🏻 You can find my form "Hail Mary Rescue Adoption Application" at: https://form.jotform.com/hailmaryrescue/hail-mary-rescue-adoption-applicati

Story
Reevah has come so far in her time with us. She didn’t handle the loud shelter well, she came into heat while there and then after being spayed made the trip from LA to VA. She has settled and adjusted into a super good dog. Working hard on her social skills with other dogs she no longer feels threatened by them and can easily handle car rides and walks with many other dogs. She is absolutely fabulous in an urban environment, load noises and busy streets don’t phase her at all. She is learning to be less reactive when cars pull up and when new people approach. This girl is more than ready for a new home, her adopter will need to be willing to continue working with her to develop a partnership but this girl has so much to give in return.

Story
Luke (7yrs old) is a great family pet never had issues around other pets. Never had an issue with him running far from the house. He understands command inside/outside when you want him to go in the house or out to use the bathroom, plus other basic commands. 100% house trained. He’s not too fond of young puppies or kittens. He’s not aggressive, just ignores them and walks away from them. He is not good around farm animals. He has eaten 6 of my chickens. He likes to run around outside, but he is at the age where he does like to relax and take naps during the day. Pretty calm does not bark a lot and loves to put his head on your shoulder for hugs. He does think he is a lap dog and will try to climb in your lap for cuddles and kisses.
