Story
Coco is a 3-4 yr old girl weighting 28 lbs. Available to go home early march she is finishing up her heartworm treatment. She is spayed, vaccinated, chipped and fully treated for heartworm disease. She is dog friendly, but bossy. Having raised a few litters while in Louisiana she doesn’t tolerate dogs being disrespectful to her and prefers dogs of similar behaviors. House trained and rides well in a car, good on a leash. Does have some prey drive so will need to be trained to live with cats. Fine around kids.

Story
Diamond! #hmrdiamond is seriously one heck of a find! She was a cruelty case and was taken in as an emaciated girl. She has gained weight and muscle well over the past month and a half and we know she will continue to fill out and blossom once she gets into a real home. She absolutely adores all humans. She currently would do best in a home with kids over 8 as she is quite enthusiastic and might be too much for a house with little kids in it all the time. She is very good with other dogs, was even kenneled with a chihuahua while in shelter as they were overfilled. She is 1-2 yrs old and around 32 lbs at this point. She isn’t very big, maybe 15 inches tall at shoulder. Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. Currently located in Warrenton, VA but can be transferred for an approved application. Application and Petfinder can be found here- https://linktr.ee/hailmaryrescue1?utm_source=linktree_profile_share&ltsid=e19407ae-0c4e-45ac-9860-80c9da3d38a8

Story
Is Valentine’s Day not your deal? Wanna skip the whole dang month of February and get right to the good stuff? Are you looking for a friendly and outgoing new friend to celebrate with? Jordan could be your man! This guy is rocking the Saint Paddy vibes with his new collar and we can definitely see this social guy enjoying outdoor bars and restaurants. He is around 3 yrs old, 60 lbs and is most likely a Bully mix. He is very friendly, the type of guy that’s never met a stranger. Walks into new environments like he owns them. Has been fostered with other dogs as well as cats. He is a wonderful blend of play and chill and while he does need to polish up his leash skills he is definitely a type that won’t mind you going to work after a walk, just leave the TV on for him. Housebroken, crates well and is fully vetted. #hmrjordan in Warrenton, VA. But transport available. https://form.jotform.com/hailmaryrescue/hail-mary-rescue-adoption-applicati

Story
Abbey #hmrabbey This is one striking young lady. If she was a human she would be a run-way model. She is tall, leggy and all things elegant. She is also very sweet, well mannered and LOVES to have fun. She is around 5-6 months old and was trapped as a roughly 2 month old puppy. Good and bad news is she was raised in a shelter, while they were safe and well fed and attended to they didn’t get out to see the world so all this is new to her. Click her hashtag for some videos, she is wonderful with other dogs, listens well and aims to please. She is very food motivated and a quick study. She will benefit from another dog in a home to show her the ropes, but with a patient adopter she will do fine alone. She has been kenneled alone and in company and is fine either way. She is very neat in the house, crates well and is reliable left out in a safe room. Has displayed no chewing habits on bedding. No food or toy aggression and tested fine with the cats. Should do fine with kids, it would likely take her a few days to figure out they are basically moving food dispensers and she will probably follow them around waiting for a snack. Fully vetted and ready for a home! The snow won’t last much longer! Located in Warrenton, Va but transport can be arranged. https://form.jotform.com/hailmaryrescue/hail-mary-rescue-adoption-applicati

Story
Sadie Claire #hmrsadieclaire 1-2 yr old 50 pounds black spayed female Labrador mix who is vaccinated and heartworm negative. Sadie was taken in by a rural shelter in Louisiana in June of 2025. She is very sweet and well mannered but hasn’t had much experience outside of a shelter environment. She walks well on a leash and is very trusting of her humans so she will be an easy one to have adjust and settle into a home. She crates quietly and aims to keep her kennel clean. She was around kids and other dogs in her 4 week foster home before coming to Virginia. She loved the backyard and the freedom to run around and play tag. She has met the tester cats here in Virginia and shows no aggression, the one cat does enjoy playing with friendly dogs and Sadie seemed like she could learn to play politely. She She rides well in a car, laying quietly in the back seat. This is a beautiful young dog who will quickly become a cherished family member, if you missed our other recent Lab girls Noel and Zita, don’t drag your feet on this sweet girl!
