Story
Meet Goose! Your new best friend and professional snuggle buddy. Goose is a young adult mixed-breed dog (with just a touch of unicorn, obviously) and 100% Good Boy! Have you ever wondered what would happen if you crossed a teddy bear with a four-legged ray of sunshine? Wonder no more — because Goose is on the loose! About three years old, Goose loves humans of all shapes and sizes and firmly believes that every new person is a potential best friend who just doesn’t know it yet. He’s affectionate, playful, and happiest when he’s by your side — personal space is merely a suggestion in Goose’s book. Goose is smart, eager to please, and very trainable — he already knows how to sit and shake for a treat! He can get a bit strong on leash (there’s just so much to see and sniff!), but he’s working on that and improving every day. He’s also crate trained and house trained — basically the total package. Goose is looking for: A family who appreciates his winning personality and devastating good looks Humans who understand that cuddles are a full-contact sport A co-pilot for all of life’s adventures Bottom line: Goose isn’t just a dog — he’s a tail-wagging, face-licking, adventure-seeking bundle of joy wrapped in a perfectly dog-shaped package. He’s the kind of companion who makes you wonder how you ever lived without him. Ready to change your life for the better? Contact The Humane Society of Loudoun County today to meet Goose! Story
Meet Ariana (10 lbs) and Xena (12 lbs), two sweet 3-year-old Maltese–Bichon mix sisters looking for an experienced small-dog home. They’re a bonded pair who love to snuggle—Ariana sleeps close to her people, and Xena curls up at the foot of the bed. These girls are active, playful, and would thrive with an active family, ideally one with a fenced yard for daily exercise. They enjoy fetch, tag, and playing together, and may even do well in agility. Ariana is the calmer, more confident one, while Xena follows her lead. They are food-motivated, know basic commands, and are crate trained when left alone. They still need consistent housetraining and some leash-walking practice, especially Xena, but they’re smart and eager to learn. They are UTD on vaccinations and will be spayed through HSLC. They can be vocal at times, especially when they hear noises outside. If you’re looking for a loving, energetic pair who will bring lots of affection and fun into your home, Ariana and Xena just might be your perfect match. Thanks to a generous sponsor, Ariana and Xena are BOGO-you get two great pups and one of their adoption fees is waived! Story
Hi my name is Curly and I have a great story to tell. I am a good boy that’s shy and unsure at first. People, car rides, and loud noises scare me. So I need a home that is quiet and 1-2 people at most would be best. I do great with other dogs, they bring me out of my shell. I know I’m not for everyone but I am the right one for the special person, who can work with me and go at my slow pace, who won’t get frustrated that the world is sometimes scary to me and I need time and help figuring it out. I really want to be loved and give you love, it will just take time, trust, and understanding. I am kennel trained, house trained, and like the backyard. Leash walks are not my favorite but I am working on that. Since I am scared, I like to be able to go in and out of my kennel when I am scared or just feel like it. If you want a special dog that’s not like everyone else, but will always hold a special place in your heart…. I am your boy! I have been around dogs and cats with no issues. I've also been around kids, but I prefer to keep to myself when little ones are around. I'm also crate and housetrained, neutered, heartworm negative, and have age-appropriate vaccinations!  If you're interested in adopting, please email your phone number to rockcityrescue@gmail.comAugust 20, 2024, 12:05 am
