Story
Are you looking for a dog who doesn`t just want to be near you, but wants to be with you? Then you need to meet Rowan. This sweet boy has perfected the art of the `lean`—his favorite way to ask for pets is to gently rest his weight against your legs, letting you know he’s right there. Rowan is the total package: playful enough for a game of fetch, but gentle enough to settle down for a relaxing afternoon. Rowan has enjoyed several Shelter Skip Days out. His companions report that he is affectionate, calm, and laid back. He showed his appreciation with lots of kisses and cuddles. He did great riding in the car. He walked great on a leash. He did not pull and did not react to strangers or other animals or bikes and cars riding by. He did like to meet human friends on his outing. One of his companions added, `Rowan seems perfect for anyone looking for some physical touch, kisses, and an easy going companion.` If you are looking for a loyal, polite, and incredibly loving companion to walk by your side (and lean on you when you stop), Rowan is your guy. Come meet him today!Rowan is enjoying time in a foster home. Please email dclifesaving@bvspca.org to set up a meeting. Story
Meet Nino! Nino is an older puppy who is looking for his forever home. Nino is an ideal companion for both brisk walks and long afternoon naps. The hustle and bustle of shelter life has been a lot for Nino to take in, and he often feels overwhelmed by the noise and constant activity. However, he recently enjoyed a much-needed Shelter Skip Day, and his true personality blossomed the moment he stepped through the front door of a home. His companion for the day was delighted to report that Nino relaxed almost instantly, trading his nervous energy for a spot on the furniture. It turns out that Nino is a professional-grade couch potato at heart. Once he feels safe in a calm environment, his favorite activity is simply being near his people and soaking up the comforts of home life. He is a gentle, sweet boy who just needs a patient family to show him that the world isn`t such a scary place after all. If you have a soft spot on your sofa and a quiet corner in your heart, Nino is waiting to fill them both. Come meet Nino today! This pet is available at:Brandywine Valley SPCA1201 New York Ave NEWashington DC 20002
