Story
Merlin is a 5 year old 80lb Shepard mix. We are a family of 5 with three boys ages 11, 15 and 17. Merlin has been in our family for 4 years. He was adopted from Milo foundation a 1 year old. He is a happy high energy dog that loves to chase sticks and roam. Despite a secure gat around our house he occasionally escapes when a door to the house is left open (there are several) or he finds an open gate. Despite a hike with me in the morning and one with a hired walker that knows him well he continues to escape. We live in a suburban community with many hiking trails but still have busy roads that pose a threat. He’s a free spirit that needs more space, maybe a job to keep him busy and a person or people to love him.

Story
Angie is a 12 month old, 33-lb, tri-color female cattle dog mix who was brought into the shelter as a stray. She was rescued from the Modesto shelter, and shelter workers described her as sweet, calm, affectionate, gentle with treats, and medium-energetic. She knows sit and some other commands. She is great with other dogs (both alpha dogs and submissive). She coexists with cats, but will chase them when she has the zoomies (she won't hurt them). She has no resource guarding and loves to cuddle. She is potty and crate trained, and is currently in obedience classes. At the time of adoption, she will be up to date on vaccines and spayed. Story
Chip is a 12 year old neutered male terrier mix, weight in at 16lbs. He is a sweet and mellow older gentleman who is looking for a quiet home where he can live out his golden years. He is generally fine with other dogs, and has been with other dogs in his foster home. He has not been seen with cats but would probably be fine, based on his temperament. If you are interested in meeting Chip, please contact: marinmutts@gmail.com

Story
"Hello Kitty" is a female brown and white terrier mix, weighing in at 16lbs. She is a mild-mannered and sweet dog, estimated to be 2 years old. She was a little bit scared and noted as "stoic" at the shelter but has come out of her shell in foster care and is now a happy little girl. She is not good with young kids, but fine with older children. She does not get along with cats. She is chipped, spayed and up to date on vaccines. She bonds very quickly with women and is slower to warm up/more shy with men. She walks well on a leash. She is quiet sitting next to her foster mom all day while she works from home. We think she is mixed with Border Collie.

Border Collie

Story
Bronx was adopted from the Humane Society of Silicon Valley (HSSV) on April 23, 2023. He was 11 weeks old and weighed 9.20 lbs. and presumed to be a Border Collie Mix but staff was unsure what he was mixed with. Since his adoption he has completed the required Puppy Training course provided by HSSV while also receiving continued training by his family. Bronx is potty trained, knows the basic commands (sit, stay, leave it, etc..) but could benefit from more extensive and regular training and strong leadership from pack leader or family. Bronx loves to run, fetch and socialize with other dogs and people. He has been trained to be both on and off leash and responds to commands when off leash; but keep in mind he's still a puppy and sometimes gets distracted and may need commands repeated. Bronx also can get a little over excited when it comes to meeting other dogs and people and may jump on them or at them to greet them. This is something that will need continuous work to be corrected.
