Story
Meet Ekolu, our resilient, affectionate 6-year-old tripod. We adopted him from the Kauai Humane Society in 2020 after he was rescued as a puppy with a severe leg injury that required amputation. Despite his difficult start, he has grown into a loving, goofy, loyal companion who adores adults, cuddling, walks, and being close to his people. He weighs about 35 pounds and has recently developed mild arthritis related to life on three legs. As Ekolu matured, he developed reactivity that progressed to aggression toward other dogs. After an incident involving our infant daughter (no contact was made), we made the heartbreaking decision that he can no longer safely live with children. Ekolu is looking for a quiet, adult-only home with no other pets and an experienced adopter. He is deeply loved and has so much love to give the right family.

Story
Two family members who came from the same home, and have always lived together so we would like to try to place them together! Steven, at 18 pounds is the little Bro and Leroy Brown is the big bro at 34! They are charming and very sweet natured - happy and social pretty classic Mini Schnauzers. A bit talkative, eager to participate, they are housetrained and a pleasure to walk. Great companions who deserve a loving family or happy person/couple with the time to provide daily exercise and plenty TLC. The boys keep each other company and are very easy. ( Priced at $500 each and thus $1000 for the pair. IF we were to split them up the price individually would be higher. )

Story
Meet Foxie! She was actually rescued by two staff members in pt. Richmond with her baby and the dad. They all went to CCAS and foxie was the last one who needed a home, so Milo pulled her! So far she is sweet once she warms up and she is still learning the basics of the world. She would do well with owners who have experience with dogs and ideally adults only as she can be a bit nervous with too much going on. She walks well on leash.

Story
Titan is a big, lovable boy with an even bigger heart. This gentle giant adores attention and affection — he’s happiest when he’s close to his people, soaking up all the love he can get. This lucky boy is enjoying his time in a loving foster home until we can find his right match forever home. Here’s what his fosters have to say about him; “Titan is always up for an adventure, he’s the perfect co-pilot for car rides, errands, or exploring new places. He doesn’t need a fancy outing to have fun — he just wants to be by your side! Titan has been polite and friendly with every dog he’s met while in foster care. While he’s not quite sure how to “play” yet, he’s content to peacefully coexist with his canine companions. (He hasn’t met any cats yet.) He’s making great progress with housetraining and sleeps quietly through the night on his cozy dog bed. Titan was rescued just in time from a local municipal shelter, and he’s shown every day that he’s grateful for his second chance. He’s ready to find a forever family who will give him the love and security he deserves.” If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will fill your days with love, Titan is your guy!

Story
Tony is a sweet, handsome, goofy, and energetic lovebug! He wants nothing more than to play with his people and other dogs. He seems completely unbothered by the loss of one of his front legs, this boy is ready for action and love! Tony has been a longterm resident, coming to Milo in February of 2025, injured, alone and afraid. He was quickly given the care that he needed, receiving a pricey leg amputation to diminish his paid. Despite the traumas that Tony went through, that we will never know and can probably never imaging, Tony keeps his tail held high not giving up on finding his fuever family. Tony sees every person and dog as a friend and potential playmate. He has learned how to navigate the world with his new body and to walk on a leash with good manners, he is getting really good at "sit". He is also quickly learning that his crate is a happy place and does very well once inside and loves a good chewy toy or treat. Tony would be best in a home with a person/people who will nurture him with lots of love, exercise and continued training; he so badly wants to show that he's the goodest three-legged boy ever! He is extremely food motivated so training should be fun and effective. Tony has endless potential and is ready to show the world that tripods rule! Apply today to meet this wonderful boy!

Story
Iggy, Indi, and Irwin are playful, family-friendly dogs looking for active homes where they can continue to learn and grow. These medium-energy pups enjoy spending time with people, get along well with other dogs, and love outdoor adventures, making them great hiking companions. They thrive in homes with a yard where they have space to play and explore. While they are affectionate dogs who enjoy leaning in for attention and companionship, they will benefit from continued socialization with both people and other dogs, as well as participation in training classes. They can comfortably be left alone for short periods of up to two hours and are ready to bring fun, loyalty, and love to their future families.
