Story
Socks’ mom was rescued from being shot and she was pregnant. He was born 4/26/2023. He is beautiful and smart ! He loves to nap on you or in crate. He is house/crate trained and on eye drops in both eyes morning/night - blind in the right eye and can see some in the left eye. The drops have helped a lot with his vision. I have plenty of bottles to give. He will learn the layout and once he does he is confident and will run and play. He does stairs off the back deck. He's ok with loud noises like music, TV, radio, vacuum, etc. so he doesn’t startle. He doesn't get along with his brothers (sibling rivalry)but loves his sister and mom. He eats in his crate, and plays one on one with you while others are put up. He needs to be in a different home environment away from his male litter mates. He has been around kids 10 yr & up. Will travel to rehome. He is so smart & cute !!! Have pics and video to share just ask. Thank you for reading ! He would love to meet you ! Woof !

Story
Buttercup is a sweet, nearly 10 year old girl with some behavioral issues that make it impossible for me to keep her in our new living arrangement. Once Cuppie gets to know people she is the sweetest girl who wants to be near her people and get pets. No issues with hanging out indoors and no accidents in the house. Cuppie’s favorite activity is to hike and an ideal environment would include somewhere for her to run and romp through the woods. The behaviors that are of concern are that she does not get along with small dogs or children who are strangers. Once settled inside, she can get along with people of all ages but when outdoors, if a young person or another dog approaches she becomes scared and aggressive. We recently moved into an apartment building and it is impossible to keep her away from close encounters with stranger dogs and kids.

Story
-85 lbs -9 years old -No food or toy aggression -Loves to sit in a yard, doesn’t run around much so it’s not required. She does love to roll in the snow. -has never been crated (except at the shelter 4 years ago) -barks at strangers. Has never lunged or snapped at a human. -Timid with strangers, especially men. -Great with kids and babies. -Excellent guard dog for your home without being a threat to anyone’s safety. -Does not jump up on anything—people, counters, furniture, etc. -Doesn’t chew furniture or dig in trash, won’t even play with dog toys. (Basically a big cat) -wants to be near you always, but not on top of you. She would do well with someone who wants a calm companion. -MUST BE THE ONLY PET IN THE HOME. While she has had extensive training and socialization with other dogs, she can be reactive with other animalls. -Knows Sit, Wait (stay) Let’s go (frees her from a command), Shake,Down, Heel,Leave it (used when she sees another dog), go potty.

Story
We adopted Henry at 10 weeks from Stray Rescue. He's a beautiful boy who gets compliments every day when walking him. He will be 3 years old this month and has brought us so much joy. We were displaced from the tornado on May 16, 2026, and things have been challenging. I live in a condo with no yard and have to walk him all the time. He needs a yard and loves to play with other dogs and kids. The only issue I have with Henry is when I walk him and he sees another dog. He gets overly excited and pulls me very hard. He can certainly be trained, but I'm alone and trying to piece my life back together. He loves to cuddle, chew on bones, walk and run, and eat. :). This is such a painful decision for me since he's my companion, and I love him dearly. It's hard to imagine life without him, but I can no longer tend to his needs on my own. He's very healthy.

Story
Daisy is a sweet, friendly, adorable dog in need of an owner who will love her and give her the attention she needs. I adopted her from Gateway Pet Guardians in East St. Louis, IL, in September 2022. At the time she was about 2 1/2 years old. She has always been a great dog. She is house trained and great around people, kids and other dogs. My fiancé and I have a 1 1/2 year old and unfortunately we do not have the time to walk her and give her the attention she needs. She is docile and knows basic commands like sit and stay. She loves to cuddle.

Story
5 year old mixed breed (shelter said hound/shepherd mix). Adopted @ 8 weeks from a shelter in Illinois. He can be such a sweet dog - so friendly, loves to cuddle, is playful, & loves every human he meets! He is happy being both active & lazy - loves walks, hikes, & playing outside, but can also be a huge couch potato.Reasons for rehoming:intense separation anxiety and unhealthy attachment. Extremely attached to me & acts like my husband (his other owner) is a threat, seemingly at random. He will resource guard me. He has bitten my husband before while very escalated and stressed. it hasn't happened in a while & wasn't bad, but important to note. We are now expecting a baby and feel this is unsafe. We have worked with vets (meds), group trainers, & private trainers but it hasn't improved. Because of the unhealthy dynamic that has formed, we think he would be much happier in a different home with an experienced owner. He is really such a sweet dog and has so much love to give.
