Story
My name is Gizmo, but I also come to “Gizzy.” I'm a very handsome 5 yr. old 14 lb. Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix. I am very low key, and have a personality that just goes with the flow. I came to All About Paws with significant dry eyes and corneal ulcers. It was so painful for me that after lots of doctors’ appointments, it was determined that I would have the best quality of life by having my eyes removed. Since then, I have been pain free and am enjoying my best life. My foster mom says I am amazing, and very brave. I’m certainly not sitting in the corner, feeling sorry for myself! I’m adventurous and am checking out everything, not being concerned at all when I bump into a few things. It is slowing me down a little, but certainly NOT stopping me! I’m jumping up in the big rocking chair with foster mom and the K9 kiddos, and working my way to the best spot in the chair and grabbing those love pats and giving lots of grateful, slobbery kisses. I’m feeling better with every passing day and my life is very happy. I sleep in a large crate at night with lots of blankets and stuffed animals and hang out on the deck with all the other pups, just sunning myself. I get along well with the other foster doggies, and would do fine in a home with other dogs and kiddos that are dog-savvy, ages 10 and over. I would appreciate having a home with only a few steps, and a wonderful back yard for me to play safely in. I’m doing well with potty training and will be working on walking on a leash. Gizmo is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, heart worm negative and on heart worm preventative, and microchipped. Gizmo’s adoption fee is $325.00. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. If you're looking for a very sweet and lovable boy to join your family, please fill out an application on AAP’s website.

Story
Hi! I’m Joey and I’m a fabulous 13 year old senior gentleman. I don’t mean to brag, but I’m a very handsome red long-haired Chihuahua weighing just 10 lbs. I’m looking for my perfect family who will love me and provide me with a nice, quiet home in my golden years. I’m pretty happy with the simple things in life such as cuddling with my people, meal times and naps. I mean what else does one really need? If you’d like to run errands, I’m your man. I love to ride in the car and am the best little passenger you could ever have. Sometimes, though, I can get a little cranky when it comes to sharing my people with the other doggies. I would do well in a home where I’m the only dog, so the competition for mom or dad’s love won’t exist. Ideally, I would be pampered with attention in my golden years and not be subjected to youngsters, as that wouldn’t be so great for me or them. I would really love it if my new mom or dad would be at home with me more often than not, so I would not have to spend my days being left alone and crated. However, I don’t mind being crated for a couple of hours while my family runs errands. I know it might be asking a lot, but I do love sleeping in bed with foster mom at night and have become kinda spoiled, so a home that would continue to spoil me in that way would make me so happy. I’m working on potty training … let’s say I’m a work in progress. As I came from a puppy mill situation, I was not taught this skill as a young puppy, but I’m working on it now. I do have one small issue with my eyes called chronic dry eye which requires daily medication for the rest of my life. I am really very good about taking my medication for this so it is not a big deal. I am a lovable and sweet little man and would make a wonderful companion. I’m up to date on all my shots, am heartworm negative, on heartworm and flea preventative, neutered, microchipped, and de-wormed. Joey’s adoption fee is $250. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. If you’re interested in having Joey as a part of your family, please fill out an application on AAP’s website.

Story
Hi future family. My name is Maggie. I am a 2 year old rat terrier/ dachshund mix. I am the perfect size weighing in around 17 pounds. I must say I have the prettiest eyes and some of the most fabulous ears you will ever see. I am nervous when I first meet people and will need time to know you are safe. But once I am comfortable you will find I am a curious and sweet little girl who very much wants to be by your side. I adore running around in the backyard, so I will need a home with a fence. I also love going for walks and foster mom feels most secure when I’m wearing my harness as I do want to chase squirrels and birds. Also there are just some things I am not sure of yet that are kind of scary and concerning, such as gnome statues and mailbox flags. So I say safety first and let me wear my harness. I have done ok with the other dogs in my foster home, but have been known to not always want to share with them. I would do best in a home with adults and/ or dog savvy older kids. I am not completely perfect with the potty thing, but am getting there and feel confident that I will master this. Maggie is up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, on heartworm preventative, microchipped, de-wormed and is spayed. Maggie’s adoption fee is $325.00. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. If you are interested in having Maggie be part of your family, please fill out an application on AAP’s website.

Hello there I’m Tilly…..I’m is a 5 year old Chihuahua girl who is a total love bug. I’m a bit shy when meeting new people but it doesn’t take long for me to be best buddy. A fenced yard is a must for me as I feel that I am the great squirrel hunter and I love to be outside. Chewing nylabones and going for car rides are on my top 10 favs as well. Foster mom says I am doing great going potty outside. Foster mom says I would better off in a home with older (12 and up) kids who are respectful of my space. I'm a total princess and do not want to share my new home with another pupTilly is up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, on heartworm preventative, microchipped, de-wormed and is spayed. Story
Hello there I’m Malcom, but I’m also known as “Mac”. I am a 9.5 year old Chihuahua/Rat Terrier. I have lived with the same family, with small children since I was rescued at one year old. I am generally comfortable with other dogs but sometimes I feel defensive when I am on a leash. I do great at doggie daycare and the dog park. I enjoy sleeping on a pile of blankets in front of a heating vent and playing catch. I am obsessed with balls! I would do best at a new home with a fenced in yard. I am mostly potty trained but sometimes I sneak off to pee in the house so I often wear a diaper to prevent any accidents when my parents can’t keep an eye on me. Malcom is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, on heartworm preventative, de-wormed, and microchipped. Malcom’s adoption fee is $250.00. Story
Hello there, I’m Maddie. I am 11 years old and have lived with the same family my whole life. I have lots of energy and I can jump very high so a tall fence is a must in my new home. I am certified as a K9 Good Citizen and can walk well on a leash. I am curious about other dogs walking near me and I am vocal when they pass my house. I do great at doggie daycare and the dog park with other dogs, especially my doggie brother, but I prefer the company of humans of all ages. I have helped raise three small kiddos and would do well in a house with kids. I am very tolerant of their curiosity and energy, plus I like to join in the play. I’m just an overall lovebug looking for a family with a lot of energy that wants a fun and loving companion. I am fully potty trained and although I prefer curling up on the couch, I am also kennel trained. I have some allergies and need a little medicine to keep me from chewing on my paws. Maddie is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, on heartworm preventative, de-wormed, and microchipped. Maddie’s adoption fee is $250.00. Please go to our website aaprescue.org to learn about our adoption process.
