Story
Meet young puppy Bocce. This is a happy go lucky guy with a lot of energy. He loves to entertain himself with toys and is really good walking on aleash. Oh, dont let that adorable face fool you. This puppy will requirea bit more training with polite greetings and to use that puppy mouthappropriately. Luckily, Bocce loves his snacks and will train for cookies. This good boy is looking to join a low traffic home with older kids only tohelp him become his best self. The best situation would be if he could livewith an older, patient dog that will teach him the ropes. Here at theshelter, he has enjoyed play dates with other dogs. We have no history ofwhat Bocce thinks of cats, so a dog-savvy cat would be a possibility.Does Bocce sound like the pup for you? If so, please head to the MethuenMSPCA location Tuesday-Sunday between the hours of 12PM-3PM!

Meet Sophie! This sensitive guy came from a situation with many other dogs living in one home, so he is looking for a patient adopter who can help him settle in and learn how to be successful in a home at his own pace. New people, dogs and environments can be scary for Sophie and he is not afraid to use his voice to communicate his discomfort. He would do best in a low-traffic home and quiet neighborhood that he can explore as he grows comfortable. Sophie would like to be the only dog in the home, but could potentially live with cats and children who have great shy dog skills!

Story
Jewel is a pretty girl who has had a rough go of it. Now she finds shelter life stressful and transitions difficult. Once she knows you, you are her forever best friend and she becomes sweet and cuddly. This dog will really lean in for pets. And she is a kisser! Jewel hopes you like to walk because she has beautiful leash walking manners that she would like to show off. Or, she will show you how she can entertain herself with a tennis ball or a fuzzy toy. Jewel is hoping for an adopter who will start off keeping her world small and predictable as she settles in. While Jewel would prefer not to live with another dog, she enjoyed living with children in her previous home. And she could possibly live with a cat, using a slow introduction. This good girl is looking for a loving home where she can finally become the wonderful dog we know she is. Do you think she is the dog for you?

Story
Amelia Earhart is a staff favorite in Methuen- she`s a sweet, active young dog who has been in the shelter since January and is still looking for her new home! Amelia is looking for a patient adopter who is ready to support a big exciting gal who may need a longer adjustment home since she`s been living in such a stressful environment for some time. While it will be important for adopters to go at her pace, she has made great strides in her training with our shelter team and she is building lots of skills to practice her best manners! Our staff team is excited to share all we`ve learned about Amelia while she`s been in our care.Amelia has many lovely qualities: she loves plush toys, learning, enrichment activities, and staying active. Once she`s settled in with her people, she’s snuggly, affectionate, and quite the jokester! She will need a quiet, predictable environment with limited variables as she decompresses. While she has been building her skills around dogs, at this time we are looking for a home without another dog so that we can focus on getting her some relaxation time away from the noisy shelter environment before trying to introduce a new friend. Amelia would benefit from a quiet, predictable environment with limited variables as she decompresses. She is not a fit for homes with cats. Amelia has the potential to live with kids that are ready to adjust to life with a higher energy large breed dog who absolutely adores her people.Amelia is a smart, loving dog who has been waiting quite some time for the right fit for her new home. If you can offer her a calm space, consistency, and patience, our staff is excited to help you every step of the way! Come meet Amelia Earhart in Methuen during our open hours between 12PM-4:30PM!
