Story
Hound lovers rejoice! Meet Whisper, an active gal who loves sniffy walks and romping around with her dog friends. Whisper came to us by way of the South, so we don’t know a lot about her history. She can be very worried in new environments, and is still getting the hang of living in a house, so she’s likely to need support as she transitions to living in a new home. Whisper is looking for an adopter with some patience and a good sense of humor, and who’s ready to help her channel all of her energy into good manners and home skills using positive reinforcement training methods. As a curious kiddo who likes to try and sniff out snacks and other fun things, Whisper will definitely need some environmental management while she’s adjusting to living in a house to ensure she’s making all the right choices! She might like to go home with a well-matched dog friend, and may potentially be able to go home with a dog-savvy cat with complete separation to start. Any children in the home should be old enough to participate in her training and management plan, and to give her space as needed while she adjusts. If you`re ready to help Whisper shine, stop by our Cape Cod Adoption Center during open hours and our team would be happy to tell you more about her!

Story
Some may say that the prettiest dog at the shelter right now is our girl Mabel. And they would not be wrong! Mabel is a beautiful young lab that is the perfect size. She is dainty and delicate with her people. She is crate trained and really enjoys being in her space. This poor baby girl came from a not great situation where she did not have much chance to learn about many normal dog things. Now she can be fearful and nervous. She will need patient adopters who will keep her world small and safe and give her time to become her best self. Mabel could possibly live with a mature helper dog who can give her some confidence and show her the wonders of being a dog. She could possibly live with a dog-savvy cat. Or maybe live with children who can respect a shy dog. Do you think this sweet girl is for you? Come say hello to Mabel.

Story
Millie is a smushy young pittie mix looking for her new home! This sweet kiddo likes to hit the trails to explore and sniff around, and loves to wrap it all up with some snacks and couch time with her people. Millie can be a bit reserved at first when making new friends, but warms up quickly and is looking for a patient family who can give an adopted dog some time to decompress in the new home.Millie`s a dog with a heart as big as her size, so her greetings can be a little on the rude side - potential adopters should be prepared to help her learn how to get someone`s attention without jumping on them! Lucklly she is a foodie, and loves to train using positive reinforcement methods. This sweet, smushy girl has been through a few transitions recently, and may need a gentle start, but once she feels secure, she’ll reward you with endless love and loyalty!

Rhino is the guy with the awesome ears. You can really tell he wants to hear those magic words from you &#8211: like walk or treat. This good boy is full of energy and would love to live with a family that will include him in their adventures. Rhino looks forward to his long sniffy walks and will melt when you scratch his shoulders just right. He is a smart guy and loves to train. Rhino is working hard on walking calmly and politely. Sometimes, though, it is just too exciting to be outside that it is hard to be calm. He is trying! Rhino has been through many changes recently and will need some time to settle into his new home. He hopes his adopters will keep his world small as everyone gets to know each other. Here at the shelter, Rhino has been able to walk with other dogs after getting a little help settling. We dont know if he has ever met a cat. He could possibly live with one starting with complete separation. And Rhino has previously lived with children as young as 10 and 12 and all was fine. The kids should be able to participate in Rhinos training plan and give him his space when he needs it. Rhino is a such a fun dog. Does he sound like the dog for you?

Story
Kashi is a well-rounded, social girl who knows how to enjoy both playtimeand downtime. She loves curling up in a soft blanket, spending time withher people, and showing off her smarts during training sessions. Kashienjoys walks, play, and outings with canine companions, and she can alsorelax at home with enrichment toys. After a lot of recent change, Kashi is looking for a place where she cansettle in and feel secure. Shell thrive with an adopter who takes the timeto get to know her, read her signals, and advocate for her needs. Kashi iscontinuing to build her skills, including housetraining, and is eager tokeep learning. She has lived with other dogs before and could do so againwith a thoughtful introduction to a calm, confident companion.Kashi would prefer a home without cats or children, where she can settle inand let her personality shine.
