Story
Meet Winnie, Sweet little Winnie was trying to fend for herself in a Houston park, she was following people around, begging for food, and sadly some people were not treating her well. She was being kicked and threatened regularly. Luckily, we were able to get to the park and scoop this beautiful girl up (and her handsome friend Boomer who has since been adopted). We think Winnie may be 1-1.5 years old. She has received all of her vaccines, a microchip and is spayed. She weighs about 42lbs. She is incredibly sweet and loving, trusting everyone. She's happy to give you a kiss and a cuddle. She even seems to be housetrained, keeping her crate nice and clean. She now has a full belly, she LOVES treats, a soft spot to sleep, and AC to keep her comfortable in this Texas heat! Next up, she really wants a family to call her own. Winnie does get along well with other dogs, but can resource guard her food. She should be fed separately. She is currently located in Houston TX, but we offer transport to New England (included in the fee). We have local directors, volunteers, and a foster to adopt option. Story
Hey Everyone, I’m Penny an adorable and highly active 2 year old female looking for a place to call home Forever!  Right now, I’m enjoying the good life in a wonderful foster home in Eastern Maine. I’m up to date on vaccine, spayed, heartworm negative, on prevention and micro-chipped too. I’m house and crate trained and will let you know when I have to go. I walk well on leash and love playing with other dogs too. I’ve never been around cats but I’m a typical young Brittany with a high prey drive so a cat free home is highly recommended. Seeing as I’m such an energetic and active girl, my new house should also have a secure 5-6 ft physically fenced in yard so me and my new “bro-fur or sis” have a place to run and play safely.  I would really enjoy a home where my people do not leave me home all day long, even though I can spend time in my crate I’d rather be out playing with my people.   I do enjoy the company of women the most; however I have learned that men can be fun too. I just need to be given time to warm up to them. Once I do, we will have lots of fun playing and having adventures together!  I’ve not been with children much, but I’d probably do well with older, dog-savvy kids who are looking for a playmate to run around with. So, if you’re looking for a young Miss like me and have the love, patience, and time to give me a place to call home,  please consider filling out an adoption application for me Penny/ME online at: https://nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application. Once your application is submitted the coordinator in the State where you reside will follow-up with you. Need to reach your State Coordinator, find their contact information here https://nbran.org/about/state-provincial-coordinators Penny’s  adoption fee is 400.00 which will help NBRAN cover the vetting costs and other expenses associated with bringing Brits like Penny back to good health and readying them for adoption. Don't live in ME or close by, No Problem!  NBRAN has a wonderful transport team willing to help bring Brits like Penny to their new family, up to 1400 miles with the adoptive family being responsible for the last 100 miles, at no additional fee. Still have questions? Contact ME Coordinators Carla Gunn at  carladgunn@gmail.com or Karen Bailey at tmmb98@yahoo.com, Thank you.   November 8, 2025, 11:37 am

Introducing Vixen! This gorgeous little lady came to us from our friends @bostonanimalcontrol after being found as a stray. Many thanks to fosters Erica and family for taking this sweetheart in and giving her a safe place to decompress and play! Vixen is emphatically described as a Velcro dog, happiest when she is glued to the hip of her favorite people. She’s also a huge snuggle bug- her favorite winter activity is to get cozy in one of her favorite fleece jackets and curl up on the couch with anyone who’s willing to snuggle, human or canine! This cutie isn’t picky, a snuggle is a snuggle When Vixen isn’t busy singling out a cuddle buddy, she’s romping around the yard with her three canine foster siblings. She absolutely loves playing tug and fetch with her foster brothers! Snacks, did someone say snacks? Vixen LOVES food, especially cheese In true pittie fashion, this little one will happily work for food. Easy going is this cuties middle name, she’s a go with the flow kinda lady and would mesh into most households quite smoothly! If you and your family are looking to grow by one stunning and sweet little pup, look no further than Vixen! Topping her Christmas list is a family to snuggle and call her own, could this be you?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.www.pittieloverescue.org Please consider a donation so that we may continue the important work we do. Adoption Fee: $300 Our information is current if you are interested in adopting please read our  Adoption Policies before filling out an Adoption Application. https://www.pittieloverescue.org It is the easiest way to start the communication and adoption process. Introducing Kane! This frosty faced, most handsome boy came to us from our friends at Dakin Humane Society after being surrendered when his family could no longer care for him. It’s always sad to see a beloved family pet surrendered but especially so when that pet is a senior who has only known family life for his entire ten years. We knew we had to get this older boy out of the crowded shelter and into a loving home ASAP! Amazing brand new PLR foster Joanne immediately rose to the task and welcomed sweet Kane into her heart and home. While he is a senior dog, Kane has plenty of energy and even more love to spare! In his foster mom’s words, “Kane is just happy being happy”  . He enjoys meandering walks with plenty of sniffs and pee breaks, and will often bust out his senior zoomies around the house or backyard! He isn’t 100% sure what all toys are but he has chosen a favorite one and entertains himself (and his foster mom  ) happily tossing it up in the air then chasing it down. This sweet senior is completely housebroken, rides in a car like the perfectly distinguished gentleman he is and walks well on a leash. Silly Kane also loves to start and end his night of snuggling *right* under the blankets as close to his people as possible. As is common with older animals (and people!) Kane is being worked up for a medical condition that he came to us with. Our amazing veterinarian team is working diligently with his foster mom to get the answers we need to ensure that the remainder of his life is as happy, comfortable, and fulfilled as it can possibly be! In the meantime, Kane is patiently wondering if his forever family is out there somewhere. His dream family would consist of plenty of two-legged people to shower him with love, snuggles and all the walkies he could want! He does have a history of living with cats so could possibly coexist with a feline sibling with proper introductions. Kane has so much love to give that he would prefer he is the only pup in the house, so he doesn’t have to share your affection. If you and your family are looking to grow by the most affectionate, loving frosty face pibble- Kane is your man!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.www.pittieloverescue.org Please consider a donation so that we may continue the important work we do. Introducing Maverick! This high-flying cutie came to us from our friends at Winchester Animal Control. Many thanks to brand new foster Erika for giving this goofball a safe and loving place to stretch his wings, errr legs . Maverick, like his pilot counterpart, is a charming combination of loyalty and passion- passion for snuggles! This big boy is happiest when he’s as close as possible to his person. Did someone say they were looking for a 90lb lapdog?? It’s a good thing that our Maverick hasn’t expressed aspirations of piloting a plane yet, he’s a bit of a clumsy boy. He’s been known to walk directly into some objects, who put that chair there anyways? as well as roll right off the bed on occasion . This silly boy, however, loves long leash walks and a good old-fashioned game of fetch. Maverick has yet to meet a stranger, greeting all with a big ole smile and wagging tail. He’s working like a studious peer to contain his excitement and not jump up to express his happiness. Among his many adorable qualities, Maverick is a self-proclaimed food snob- it took his foster 3 tries to get his food dish in *just* the right spot, and to learn that it must be slightly elevated but not move. Hey, we love a man who knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to wait for it. If you and your family are looking to grow by one big goober who will endlessly keep you entertained and snuggled, albeit he’ll probably never fly high like his namesake, Maverick is your man! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.www.pittieloverescue.org Please consider a donation so that we may continue the important work we do.
