Story
Born approximately 3/20/2017 Hes been with us since late May 2017 Attended daycare as a pup where he was bullied and bitten. Never returned since 2020. Major surgery March 2020 to remove 6 golf balls in stomach. 2 other vet visits to sedate and remove sticks embedded in his teeth. Does not like his feet touched. Has some territory barking, I believe since we moved multiple times. We did our best to train him but he still needs help with that. He loves to run in the woods off leash. I am only able to walk him on leash with a Hermspringer prong collar. He goes with a dog walker 1-2 times a week. He has always lived with cats and free roam bunnies. Due to recent personal health issues, I can not provide him the care and attention he deserves. I am open to answering any questions you may have. Megan 978-879-7518

Story
Anita is a one-of-a-kind little athlete wrapped in an adorable 35-pound package. Just over a year old, this low-slung, medium-sized cutie has the most gorgeous markings, expressive ears, and a spring in her step…literally! Don’t let those short legs fool you; Anita can jump like a pro and loves to play, explore, and make new friends wherever she goes.Anita absolutely adores people and dogs alike. She’s happiest when surrounded by her favorite humans or canine companions and thrives on attention and connection. Because she loves so deeply, she struggles with being left alone and experiences separation anxiety. When left by herself, she can panic and become overly excited when people return — sometimes jumping up or nipping in her enthusiasm. She’s looking for a dog-experienced home that can provide patience, structure, and continued support from a trainer or behaviorist. No young children are recommended, as she’s still learning how to manage her big feelings in a calm way.Outside of the shelter, Anita truly shines. On multiple off-site outings, she’s been completely appropriate and well-mannered with new people and dogs. She’s also spent time in a staff member’s home, where she was affectionate, snuggly, and relaxed — though she did show some anxiety when she thought her person was leaving.Anita would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not and where she can have the steady companionship she craves. A confident, balanced dog friend would likely help ease her anxiety and show her that being alone isn’t so scary.Anita has so much love to give and just needs the right person (or people) to help her feel safe, secure, and at home. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will make every day brighter, Anita Collar may be your perfect match.Anita is also apart of our extended stay program so her fee has been reduced to help her find her forever home!Anita is currently available to meet by appointment only. Please submit an application for her and an adoption counselor will be in touch with the next steps!.
