Duchess is an 11 year-old female mixed breed. Duchess is a friendly old girl who still has a lot of pep in her step! She loves to get out for walks with her volunteer friends, and motors along like she’s half her age. She came to the shelter with her little buddy Jackie Boy, a pint sized Chihuahua, so we think she could live with a smaller dog, but she says no thanks to bigger dogs We would love to get this senior gal out of the shelter and into a quiet home as soon as possible so she can rest easy, so let’s share her info and get her adopted this week! Zeus is a walk in surrender on 2/3/26. He has been ill for two weeks and his family could not afford additional medical diagnostics to determine what is ailing him. He was rushed to the animal hospital where he had radiographs, but there was no definitive cause of his issues. Today (Wednesday 2/4/26) he will undergo exploratory surgery so we can try to help him. Please consider donating to his care, which could be $3,000+. 2/4/26-UPDATE! Zeus had exploratory surgery today and they found a plastic SQUEAKER from a toy in that boys intestine, which was causing him to feel so yucko! He`s not out of the woods yet, as this is a pretty invasive surgery and we need to make sure he is going to start eating again and passing everything through as usual. He`ll spend the night in the hospital and hopefully we`ll have an update tomorrow!2/6/26-UPDATE! Zeus is back at the shelter and recovering. We are working on getting him to a foster home for the rest of his recovery. His surgery expenses came to $3,000.
