Meet Mila: Professional Drama Queen, Occasional Dog.Are you ready to have your life slightly (okay, completely) taken over by a diva in a floofy husky coat? Mila is a 6-year-old sass machine with eyeliner better than yours and opinions about everything.Mila enjoys long walks where she pretends she`s in a movie montage, singing the song of her people (LOUDLY) just to keep things dramatic. She is selective about her canine company—some dogs she likes, some she doesn’t, and some she simply judges from afar. Honestly, same.Cats? Hard no. Mila says they’re shady and probably plotting something.Teenagers and up are her kind of people—she needs a home where the humans get her vibe: “I’m gorgeous, I’m sensitive, I will not be rushed.”If you’ve got a good sense of humor, a soft couch, and an appreciation for strong independent women, Mila just might be your soulmate. Apply today and start preparing your acceptance speech—this diva doesn’t settle for less than star treatment. Our shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-4 (closed Mondays). If you are interested in this pet, please review our adoption process at www.lowellhumanesociety.org/adoption/#process so you`re prepared to adopt & stop by the shelter with the required information to take home this pet.

Story
Kira and Lexy are a bonded pair, mother and daughter. Kira is an easy going girl who can be reserved but once she comes out of her shell she is a complete sweetheart, gives the easiest sweetest kisses. Calm and happy dog indoor and outdoor. Happy to just be by your side along with her side kick Lexy and her canine friends. Lexy is shy and timid and unsure of new humans, but be patient and she is a total love bug who loves love, attention, pats and belly rubs and can`t get enough of your love. She`s super gentle, likes hugs and snuggles. She`s also very calm girl indoor and outdoor who enjoys human company and her buddy momma Kira.No Cats for these girls. They are both excellent walkers on leash. Can walk together no problem. They will do happy dance for treats if you want them to but have really good manners with commands like sit, down, wait. Really easy to care for, they are so calm, gentle, not destructive if left alone. Crate trained as well, so pretty perfect girls. They jus need time to decompress in a new place, so a patient human who is ok giving then few days to let the come out of shell and let them make the first move is ideal. These girls can`t be rushed. But show them a treat and they warm up pretty quickly. She is just a love. Kira & Lexy are in a foster home. If you would like to be considered for adoption, please email adopt@lowellhumanesociety.org to inquire and we can schedule a meet and greet . Applications will be accepted and the best match will be selected for the pet.

Story
Awooo from our energetic friend Stormy! She is a young black & white female suspected husky/pitbull mix with the bluest eyes you`ve ever seen. Stormy tends to enjoy putting her crazy-pants on most days, but hey, she`s still a puppy, it`s her job! She would heavily benefit from some training sessions due to some height seeking & mouthiness. Our wonderful volunteers work with her every walk on these things and she`s already showing improvement, she has a big brain ready to learn. When she calms down a tinge, she is a sweet & snuggly girl.It will be very important for Stormy`s adopters to provide regular training to ensure she takes paw-steps towards her best self. Another important thing: enrichment! This girl`s big brain will do best when kept busy, so her family will ideally have an array of ways to keep her mind stimulated & her cute butt out of trouble.Due to this energetic side, we think Stormy will be best in a home with dog-savvy teens+ in the home. She has been dog selective so if you have a dog at home please speak with staff about their personality to see if they may get along. We do not believe she would be good with cats. Our shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-4 (closed Mondays). If you are interested in this pet, please review our adoption process at www.lowellhumanesociety.org/adoption/#process so you`re prepared to adopt & stop by the shelter with the required information to take home this pet.

Story
Berries n Cream is a lovely pup who is spending time in a foster home as we work on managing her KCS, also known as dry eye`. She is a sweet girl who is very wary of being touched around her eyes and face due to her eyes not receiving the treatment she needed. Berries is tolerant of other small, calm dogs and would do well in a quiet home. She recently had special implants put into her eyes that will dispense medication that will help limit the amount of medications she will need temporarily while we desensitize her to being touched around her face. She is already responding well to treatment and allowing her foster to touch around her face more. We hope to transition her to an adopter who will take this over. She will need lifelong eye drops, so needs an adopter with a good relationship with their veterinarian to continue her eye treatment. If you are interested in taking over her foster care as a trial adoption, please reach out to us at forms@lowellhumanesociety.org for more info.
