Story
Dori is a pet I've had for well over a decade, who's been with me between two different moves. She's lived with several other pets during her life, including 2 cats and 2 dogs. Dori likes chasing squirrels, which are pretty common in the areas I walk her around. She also loves wearing clothing, and will enthusiastically jump into a harness. When I was a kid, I remember really liking the unique sounds she made when she yawned. Dori is about 13 years old now, but she still has energy. That said, she'll start to howl if left alone at home, and is needy about walks. She can coexist with other dogs at home, but might be apprehensive around cats or strangers. If anyone does take care of her, it's recommended that they have someone at the house capable of addressing her needs at almost all times of day.

Story
Rex is an 8-year old, very energetic pitbull. He was adopted at 8 weeks old in Massachusetts. He is a sweet boy who loves intensely. This can cause him to have big feelings in the house. He has separation anxiety and would need an owner who is willing to put in the time to work with him. He loves to run around and be around his people. We can no longer take care of Rex. His ideal home would have someone who is willing to work with him to work on his outside manners as well as his anxiety. He is a very sweet dog who loves attention and play. Recent events have made it not possible for our family to care for Rex anymore. He would be a great dog for any owner who is willing to put in the effort to work with him.

Story
Jules is a fun loving goof ball who loves nothing more in life than chasing his orange rubber ball all day long. He is more of a people dog than a dog, dog and is soon to be 10 years old but has the energy of a 5 year old. His place as king of the household has changed with two young sisters now running around and sadly he cares so much about them that he howls/whines every time they cry. He would be much happier to have another house to himself so he can chase his ball in peace.

Story
Mabel came in with Melody and Mickey. Her Virginia fosters says she's easy-going and has moderate energy. She loves to get her belly rubbed and lay in the sun and be where you are. She's very quiet for a Beagle, walks well on a leash ( does not need long walks), and is doing well wth crate-traning. She does not need another dog, although she’s fine with other dogs around, but has no interest in playing with them yet. Melody is about 4 yrs old and weighs about 20 lbs. Arriving in late February. Story
Annie is a 7 year old coonhound who was originally adopted in 2022. Due to a move and change in the family's situation, Annie needs a new home. Annie is a very sweet dog who loves her people and loves her tennis ball almost as much. She has done well living with other dogs these last couple of years but would also be fine as an only pet or with one companion. She eagerly meets new friends at the dog park and gets along with males and females. Annie is crate-trained and loves to curl up in a ball on her bed but she would prefer to sleep with her humans if permitted. Annie is a high-energy dog and requires daily exercise. She will tirelessly play fetch and loves doing so as much as she likes her walks in the park. She would be a great running companion. Annie is vocal when she anticipates an outing or when playing ball. Annie would love a home where her owner(s) can be be with her much of the time and someone can meet her energy needs If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below. Story
Rusty came to us from rural North Carolina where he was found stray. He's a nice hound who makes friends easily. Rusty has a sweet disposition and was apparently someone's pet. He's housebroken, does well in a crate and knows some commands like 'sit' and 'paw'. He loves to play with his toys and enjoys attention from new people. Rusty can be an escape artist and will need secure leashing and a secure fenced yard. He has plenty of energy and enjoys his outings Vets have estimated Rusty's age between 2 and 6 and he weighs about 55 lbs. Rusty has arrived and is available for visits in the Boston area.
