Story
Phinney is a special dog with a big heart. He turned 8 on September 4th. We planned to adopt a puppy from a litter he fathered, but we fell in love with him. Due to a genetic eye condition, his breeder could no longer use him for breeding, and in January 2019 he joined us While we aren’t sure of the extent of his condition, we do know that he has some vision impairment. This can make him a little skittish on walks, especially around loud noises.Despite this, he is affectionate and loving. He does have a few special needs, including IBS, which causes accidents in the house, though he is trained to go outside. With two young children, one curious toddler and one who is about to start crawling,it has become difficult for us to keep up with his care alongside the needs of our family Phinney is a sweet, gentle boy who deserves attentive and patient home where he can thrive. We love him deeply but we know he would do best with a family that can give him the extra care and attention he needs.

Story
Meet Birch, an adorable young pup with a gentle heart who’s still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. This sweet girl missed out on early socialization, so many everyday things—like new people, sounds, and environments—can feel overwhelming to her. Birch is looking for someone patient and understanding, who will move at her pace and help her build confidence one small step at a time.Birch would really benefit from a calm, confident dog sibling to show her the ropes and help her learn that new experiences can be fun. With time, stability, and lots of kindness, this nervous little girl has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. She just needs the right person (and dog friend!) to help her feel safe and supported as she discovers the good life.

Story
MY ADOPTION FEE WILL BE WAIVED 12/08-12/14!This bouncy beaut is Princess! She`s 8 years old, but nobody told her that - she`s a bundle of energy who loves playing with squeaky toys, hanging out with dog friends, and jumping up to give kisses. Princess is still working on her manners, and is looking for a patient adopter who`s prepared to manage the environment to help support her needs. She has big feelings when she sees other animals, and her new owner should be ready to help her disengage from tempting squirrels and exciting dogs when out on walks. She wants to explore the whole house, but is still learning to keep all four paws on the ground - luckily she`s more than open to other outlets for her energy, including sniffy walks, playtime, and long-lasting chews. She understands the value of a nice comfy bed, and will make herself at home for solo naptime once her needs have been met. Princess could live with a well-matched dog friend, given a proper intro (which we`re happy to help with!) and appropriate management in the home. She has a history of living with cats in a foster home, but was very interested in their stuff, and would benefit from her own separate space.

Story
MY ADOPTION FEE WILL BE WAIVED 12/08-12/14!Meet Blessings! This playful girlie loves to zoom around the yard and chase her favorite toys. She’s full of energy, and would make a great companion for someone active and outdoorsy. Blessings is pretty excitable, so her adopter should continue her training and help her learn to settle down for quiet time. Once she`s ready for a nap, she loves nesting in big cozy blankets. She has big feelings about the volume of dogs at the shelter, and we think she’d thrive as an only dog, but canine siblings aren’t off the table - they’ll just need to come meet her at the shelter prior to adoption, to ensure it’s a good match.

Story
MY ADOPTION FEE WILL BE WAIVED 12/08-12/14!Meet June! This energetic girl loves to play with her stuffed toys, and is so snuggly once she gets some of that energy out. She would be a great match for an active and outdoorsy adopter with a calm, structured home environment. June likes to interact with other dogs, but quickly becomes excited or frustrated when she sees dogs that she can`t say hello to. She would do best in an environment that is not densely populated with other dogs, and should be walked in areas where there is little to no risk of off-leash dogs running up. She could do well living with a well-matched, tolerant dog, and resident dogs are welcome to come meet her at the shelter to ensure they get along before adoption. She can live in a home with children who can help provide consistency and participate in training.
