Remo is 15 months old all mastiff mix. He loves attention and loves to play. Will do well with older children (teenagers) or no children. He needs a patient owner who will work with him during his teenager stage when mastiffs tend to be stubborn. He would do well with a yard that he can run up and down. Best with someone who has experience with the mastiff breed. Has shown some agression but no biting. Believe aggression stems from Remo being over protective of me. Also, rehoming due to him being obsessed with eating baby wipes and my kids little toys. Worried he might get something stuck. Not asking for any money, willing to rehome for free with the right candidate! We also can supply a cage, bed, toys, and any dog food we have left at the time of rehoming. I took Odie in from an old friend that was keeping him in one room due to litter syndrome with his brother. They had 2 other dogs also that I was told he got along with. I realized that Odie needs more attention than I can offer him. I work alot and he deserves someone that can be home more often. I also has an issue walking and if he gets excited and decides to run after something I risk falling. He is afraid of new people but gets attached easily. He can be playful and also enjoys laying next you on the couch. He was afraid of my cat at first but seems to be warming up to him. He does not chase him, he just looks at him. My cat has eaten dog food out of Odies bowl while he was eating and it did not bother him. He does not pull his leash. He waits for me to open the door to go out. Then he will wait for me to go up or down the stairs. He stays right by your side when walking. He barks constantly when he is left alone.

Meet Elvira — “V” for Victory! 🐾 The “V” in Elvira’s name stands for Victory — because this brave girl has truly gone from victim to victor. V’s journey is one of tragedy and triumph. She is a survivor of abuse and neglect who has shown incredible resilience every step of the way. V came to the North Smithfield Animal Shelter after an anonymous call prompted a welfare check. Following an investigation in collaboration with North Smithfield Animal Control, Burrillville Animal Control and the North Smithfield Police Department, V was taken into safe custody and received immediate veterinary attention thanks to our friends at the North Smithfield Animal Hospital and Friends of North Smithfield Animals Shelter. Thanks to the generosity of our friends at the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, she was lovingly cared for until she regained her strength and was ready to return to the shelter. During that time, her previous owner was arrested and charged with animal cruelty. Now safe and thriving, V is learning what it truly means to be a dog — something she’s been discovering for the first time in six years. She will proudly greet you with her beloved “stuffies” and a big, joyful smile. She’s steadily gaining weight and is expected to be about 65 pounds when fully healthy. Given her history, we feel she would do best as the only pet for now so she can fully bond with her person. In time, another furry roommate may be possible — but for now, she deserves to be the palace princess of her home. She is: * Spayed * Vaccinated * Microchipped * Heartworm free * Crate trained * Great in the car * Wonderful on a leash * Up for an active lifestyle * Also a certified couch potato Recently, V spent a weekend away as a “Blizzard Buddy” at a farm, where she soaked in the sights, sounds, and smells of the horses and delighted in meeting every person she encountered.
