Story

Panda was adopted from a no kill shelter in Lexington Virginia! I would frequently go and walk the dogs while at school, and that is where I met Panda. Panda was the only dog in the shelter they were going to put down due to his breed and skin allergies. The shelter told me his skin allergies could not be fixed, but a month into his new home he had clear skin! I try and give him a bath every month which keeps him clear, as well as Benadryl in the spring. Panda is 4 years old, and I am looking to place him in a loving home where he can get regular walks since he is an energetic boy! He is great with kids, other dogs, and cats! I would definitely describe panda as loving, energetic, funny, and is always looking to please his owner. One thing about panda is that he loves to dig through trash. Before I adopted him he came from a home where he was chained up and starved, so he is constantly looking for food. If you are looking for a cuddle bug, panda is your guy!

Meet Freya a 10-month-old 42 pound Border Collie/Aussie Doodle mix with soulful green eyes and a heart full of love. She’s playful, snuggly, smart, and thrives with active humans who engage both her body and mind. She’s gentle with kids, gets along great with other dogs, and loves puzzles, bobbing for apples, and cuddling close. Freya is potty trained, crate trained and knows sit, stay, place, off, and leave it. She’s refining her leash skills (can pull at times) but travels well and picks up training quickly. New environments can make her cautious at first, so she needs someone patient who honors her pace and gives her space to adjust. She’s being rehomed due to a life transition (divorce + relocation). This is a hard and loving choice, made to give her the freedom and care she deserves. Freya will thrive in an active and loving home, where she can run, play, and be deeply loved. Dumpling is a very special girl. She’s a two-year-old hound mix, spayed, and up to date on all vaccinations. She was found as a puppy, starving and hiding beneath someone’s porch. Since being rescued, Dumpling has worked incredibly hard to heal—not just physically, but emotionally too. Learning to trust the world, and especially people, has taken time. In the past few months, she has truly begun to flourish. We’ve learned that Dumpling gains confidence from being around other dogs and does best in a home with canine companions. While she enjoys an occasional quiet woodland walk, she much prefers the comfort of her fenced-in yard and a predictable, peaceful routine. Dumpling is fully house trained and very quiet. She rarely barks unless she needs to communicate something important. She may give a soft grumble if dinner or her favorite bedtime treat is taking too long—her beloved dental stick made with blueberries, and mint. She is a gentle, sensitive soul. Sweet, shy, and a bit nervous, Dumpling does not enjoy a lot of commotion. Recently, she’s made wonderful progress and has started staying out when company comes over instead of immediately retreating. If she does choose to walk away, she calmly finds a quiet space and simply needs time. She will rejoin when she’s ready—checking on her during these moments only increases her anxiety. A bustling household with young children would not be the right fit, as loud or unpredictable environments make her uneasy. Dumpling is looking for a calm, understanding home where patience and consistency come naturally. She is the sweetest girl , with the cutest toothie smile, and will make a deeply loyal, loving companion for the right family—one who understands that the best bonds are sometimes built slowly.
