Story
Sweet Ginger is being returned to us after being in a home about 5 months.  They loved her and are heartbroken but Ginger has high prey drive for free roaming chickens.  That being said she must have a secure fenced in yard, a privacy fence is preferred or at least one that is 5 ft high.  She seems to be fine with other dogs after a proper introduction including small ones.  Ginger could also flourish as an only dog as she loves her people.  She has not been around cats so we are unsure but based on her prey drive a home without cats would be best.   Children should be older and respectful.  Ginger is about 8 years old and 50 lbs, a nice manageable size. She is fully vetted and had a dental last fall.   Ginger is housetrained and loves to ride in the car.  She can be left with the run of the house while you are gone without issue.  Ginger has the most adorable smile, we think it is adorable.   If interested in Ginger, please email hartmanshounds@gmail.com.  Her adoption fee is $150.May 15, 2024, 5:46 pm

Story
UPDATE:  Sully has been with a trainer for the past few weeks and has now moved to a foster home. What we have found is that Sully will need regular exercise otherwise he has been known to climb his way out of a shorter chain link fence.  He is great with other dogs, is fine with cats and great with kids.  He really likes kids but they must be respectful. We believe there was mistreatment by a male and he may bark at them and even back away but once he knows you are no threat he is fine. He would love another dog to play with in a new home and a family who is active and will exercise him.  A house where there is not a lot of outside stimulus is preferred. A house set a bit off the road if possible.  His new foster mom says he has a heart of gold and all he wants is to be with someone, to belong. Sully was originally rescued from City Dogs Cleveland after he tested positive for heartworm.  He has now gone through his full treatment and is fine.  Sully is close to 3 years old and currently 29 lbs but could lose a couple lbs.  His mix appears to be Corgi with a shepherd/lab head. Sully rides well in the car and is housetrained.  In a new environment, he wants to mark but that stops quickly.  (That is why the wrap in the photos).   If interested in Sully, please email hartmanshounds@gmail.com. His adoption fee is $200. May 15, 2024, 5:46 pm

Story
Meet Peanut & Cashew. They were rescued from an overcrowded KY shelter.  We believe they are littermates and we would love for them to stay together but can be split up if necessary.  Peanut and Cashew are about 1 year old, 21 lbs. and Beagle mixes.  They are super sweet and loving.  We just got them so don't really know yet about being housetrained.  They have to receive one more vaccine and they are ready to find a loving home.  Due to their breed, a fenced yard is required.  Based on their personalities, we believe they would be fine with other dogs, cats and respectable children. If interested in Peanut and Cashew, please email hartmanshounds@gmail.com.  Their adoption fee if they go to the same home would be $300.  If separated, it would be $175.  May 15, 2024, 5:46 pm

Story
Meet Peanut. I was originally trying to find him a home with Cashew but can’t seem to. He is a wonderful friendly dog. Peanut is fully vetted, neutered and all vaccines. His personality is top notch so more than likely would be good with everyone. He is crate trained. May be house trained but hard to tell for sure since he is in a boarding kennel. He does walk well on a leash and would need a daily walk.  Peanut will need a fenced yard due to his breed. He’s a little guy at only 21 pounds and he is just barely over a year old. He looks to be maybe Beagle/Black and Tan Coonhound mix. His adoption fee is $175. If interested in Peanut, please email hartmanshounds@gmail.com.May 15, 2024, 5:46 pm

Story
Meet Cashew. He was rescued along with a littermate from an overcrowded shelter. He is the sweetest boy.  He’s a little guy at only 21 lbs and is just over a year old. He is a beagle mix and is fully vetted, neutered and all vaccines up to date. Cashew is dog friendly although a bit excited at first meet. We think he is  probably okay with cats but again, super excited to see them. He should be fine with older respectful children, maybe 8 and up. Cashew walks great on a leash and would need a daily walk. Probably housetrained but hard to tell for sure since he is in a kennel situation currently. We would prefer a fenced yard due to his beagle breed. Cashew’s adoption fee is $175.  If interested in Cashew, please email hartmanshounds@gmail.com.May 15, 2024, 5:46 pm
