Archie is a good dog. We have another dog who he doesn’t get along with and a toddler, and are moving so we unfortunately cannot take care of him anymore. We adopted Archie 9 years ago from the pound, he is now 11 years old. He is a very loyal dog and high energy. He would do great in a home with no other pets or older kids.

Story
Meet Sammy! This special little senior boy is 11-12 years old and is an adorable mix of Cairn Terrier, Jack Russell and possibly chihuahua. Sammy has been with TRI since December 17, 2022 and what a joy he has been. Sammy has allergies that we were working through, and he's ready now to find his forever home! Sammy has a silly personality ten times bigger than his 12 pounds. His fur will never grow back on his belly or around his neck, so he hopes you don't mind his messy look (we think it's adorable of course!). His face will melt your heart. Sammy has been great with with all of his foster canine siblings. He will spend endless hours outside if you let him. Sammy loves toys and wants to play with his humans by throwing the toys for him. If you think Sammy is the little boy for you, email therescueinn@gmail.com or complete an adoption application: https://therescueinn.com/adoption-application.html. Sammy can't wait to meet his family!

Story
Shorty! 🧸 Are adorably cute senior bears your thing? Well, meet Shorty! This handsome 10 year old American bully/pitbull boy is ready to find his home or a foster! Shorty is 84 pounds and has quite the story to tell. We met Shorty only a few months ago when Shorty was found by our humane officer friend outside in a small enclosure....where he lived for the last 10 years (yes, you read that right! 10 years!). Shorty's skin was a mess, and he was heartworm positive. One of our TRI fosters saw Shorty and knew this lug needed a chance! Shorty moved to foster care and has been blossoming into the handsome, lovely guy we know him to be today. Shorty underwent heartworm treatment and he is doing great! He also is now neutered. His skin looks 100% better. Shorty is a senior and has arthritis, but x-rays show he's in overall good health. We have him on Dasuquin and other supplements to support his joints. Shorty's teeth are ground down from his years outside gnawing at hard inanimate objects, so he gets water added to his dog food to help him eat. Shorty's favorite dogs toys now are soft cloth toys and it warms our heart to see him playing. Living outside for 10 years takes it toll. Shorty is afraid of fire, lighters and water hoses. Shorty is very smart and has already learned some commands. Shorty knows "sit" and is working on "wait." If you'd like more information on Shorty, email today at therescueinn@gmail.com or submit an adoption application and we will be in touch: https://therescueinn.com/adoption-application.html

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Tater was surrendered to us on St. Patrick's Day by an Amish puppy mill/breeder after she was attacked by another dog and suffered severe trauma to both front legs. The breeder didn't want to pay for medical care, and so she faced euthanasia. We obviously couldn't let that happen, so we agreed to take her on!Tater was adopted not long after she recovered, but was recently returned as it wasn't the best match with her and her doggie housemate.** We're currently looking for a FOSTER TO ADOPT home for our girl! **Since coming back to us, we've had Tater professionally obedience trained, as we want her to be the best girl she can be! She's a TOTAL lovebug with people, and is silly, playful, affectionate and cuddly. If you look up GOOFBALL, I'm pretty sure you'll find a pic of Tater!Tater is an 8-month-old Beabull (Beagle/Bulldog mix), and is 30lbs, spayed, microhipped, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and current on monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She's house and crate trained, walks well on leash, enjoys going for car rides, and knows basic commands. She's always down for an adventure, but she's pretty darn good at being a couch Tater too! She's cuter than heck and has the BEST little toothy smile! If you're in the market for an outgoing, happy go lucky, affectionate potato dog, you may have found your perfect girl!Tater has started to show some pain in her elbows, and she will be seeing an orthopedic doctor in October for an evaluation. It's possible she has damage secondary to the trauma she suffered as a small puppy, which didn't present itself until she got older and heavier. (Her body could compensate when she was younger and there wasn't as much weight being carried on her joints.) It is possible she will require orthopedic surgery, which the rescue will cover. Her ideal forever home is one where she can the only pet so she can get all the love and attention! It's important to note that Tater is not dog aggressive, and can share toys, go for pack walks, and loves romping in the yard with other pups. Her issue is resource guarding her humans, which has been the primary focus of her rehabilitation and training. However, for her long-term success and happiness, we'd prefer an only pet home for her.An experienced dog owner is preferred, and her family will also have to be comfortable with caring for her post-op should she require medical intervention for her elbows. (Again, the rescue will cover this expense!)If you're interested in giving our spunky little Spudnut the best life she deserves, please click here to submit an adoption application! If you'd like any additional information, please email us at newleashrescue@gmail.com.Tater's adoption fee is $450, which includes all her vetting and training.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 25, 2023, 2:52 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet our Circus puppies! Barnum is an adorable 1 year old Husky/Pitbull mix that was surrendered to us along with his sister, Bailey, as their previous owner didn't have the funds to be able to care for them. Bailey has been adopted, and poor Barnum is still patiently waiting! Barnum is an outgoing, social butterfly who loves everyone he meets! He also adores other dogs, and is gentle and respectful of the cats in his foster home. Once playtime is over, Barnum's good at occupying himself if necessary and will quietly chew on bones during downtime. He's also sweet and cuddly, and when it's time for naps, he loves to snuggle with people and other animals. He's a smart, food motivated boy and learned sit and lay down in only a couple of days! He's attentive, eager to please, and loves to learn. He is house and crate trained, enjoys car rides, walks well on leash, and knows basic commands. Barnum's a great pup that would be a wonderful addition to a family home, or an active, adventurous household! He greatly enjoys the company of other dogs, and would do best with another playful pup in his forever home. A fenced yard is strongly preferred. Barnum is a year old, 65lbs, and is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and current on monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $450.  Please click here to submit an adoption application!  If you'd like any additional information, please email us at newleashrescue@gmail.com.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 25, 2023, 2:52 pm
