3/8/24 Update Big News - Tucker completed his board and train program with Cold Water K9 in Castalia. He did great and will need an owner that is willing to continue his training and commands he has leaned. Big thanks to Cold Water K9 for helping Tucker be the best dog he can be! **This is a great opportunity to adopt a professionally trained dog!! He has wonderful house manners and is housebroken, and crate trained. If you are interested in Tucker, please complete our online Love-A-Stray application. We can only consider homes with a completed application, so we can learn a little about you to make sure Tucker is a good match. Thank you! Application: www.loveastraydog.com/application **If you are interested in offering a temporary foster home for Tucker, as we search for his forever home, Love-A-Stray provides everything needed for the foster program. You have zero expenses. PLEASE consider helping this GREAT dog while we work on finding Tucker a forever home!! Tucker completed a 6 week board and train program and he knows all his commands. Tucker is ready for his next adventure! If his new potential family or foster has a dog, Tucker would do best with a calm dog that is not reactive and can be a positive influence on him. Tucker is a typical playful young dog, he is 60lbs and 11 months old, DOB 4/20/23. We are hopeful to find an adopter that will help Tucker by continuing his training. Tucker is super sweet and very smart. He will need daily exercise, typical of a young dog. Tucker has lived with a cat and he is curious about the cat, but since his board and train he does very well just leaving the cat alone ;-). We prefer a home with older children, since he is a larger dog and could easily knock down a toddler. We would love for Tucker to have a fenced in yard (not electric) so he can burn off some young dog energy and he really loves to play fetch, but it is not required as long as new owner is very active and can offer daily walks in all types of Ohio weather;-)! Tucker rides well in the car too. Tucker is completely vaccinated and neutered. If you are interested in Tucker, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Tucker would be a perfect match for you and your family. We are looking for local adoption within a 65 mile radius of Avon Lake Ohio, due to our trial adoption process. Adoption fee/donation is $ 150.00. If you have specific questions, please email the adoption coordinator at info@loveastraydog.com If you can't foster or adopt, please consider donating to help us with medical expenses and ongoing care. You can mail your donation to: Love-A-Stray, P.O. Box 125, Attn: Tucker, Avon Lake, OH 44012 or visit www.loveastraydog.com for credit card/PayPal information, adoption application, available dogs and upcoming events. Thank you!

Story
Hello! I'm roscoe, a 3 year old male whose ready for his forever home. I'm a very sweet and loving boy who loves cuddles and kisses. I really love any stuffed animal type of toy. I walk really well and listen to commands. I am very goofy and love to play. However I may need some time to decompress since I've been moved around a little. I might get confused. It will take a little time for me to warm up to the sweet side of me, so please be patient and give me a little space to adjust. Being an only dog to be spoiled would be best as well. I don't really like being petted by strangers, it scares me. But that's okay. I'm really worth the extra effort. I just need the right people to find me. Thank you for considering me to be part of your family!

Story
Henry He is the sweetest cuddle bug!!! I have never seen a dog so skilled at giving the “puppy dog eyes”. He will just look at you and then rest his head on you. He Loves his treats!! Pretty quiet but will bark if someone comes to the door. He follows you everywhere. He does not have the puppy energy but not an old man by any means. Best guest is 4 or 5 years old. Vet had no idea on breed… most likely Doxie and Lab mix, approx 30 lbs. Good with other dogs, cats, kids…. He’s pretty bomb proof. Does not do well being kenneled or left alone for any amount of time, but is well behaved when left with another dog and can roam around the house. Definitely potty trained and no longer marking now that he has been neutered. Knows basic commands and eager to please.

Story
Hello! My dog’s name is Mace! He loves to play, run, go on hikes and play in the snow. He was from a breeder in Herndon PA right now he is almost 10 months old. I currently have gone through too many life changes to where I can’t keep up with him. I work 12 hour shifts and currently in the process of moving. It is not fair for him to be inside all day and not have anyone to play with. I love him with all my heart but he needs someone who can put more time in with him. For anyone interested in being his new forever home you must be active, patient and super loving. He is great with other cats and dogs. He also loves kids!

Story
This is Rocky and we’ve had him just over a year. He’s a sweet guy but due to big lifestyle changes, new job schedules, and allergies we need to rehome him. HE IS GREAT WITH KIDS! we just can’t provide him with the proper training and consistency he needs to thrive with the lots of changes coming and changes already in place. He is potty trained, and is due for his vaccines. He’s protective and will let you know if something is going on. He loves to sleep, and hang out with his family. He does okay with other dogs as long as they’re not constantly in his face. He definitely needs crate training due to him getting into things he shouldn’t be and that can be a little dangerous. He’ll come with anything we have for him.

Story
Meet Sammy! This special little senior boy is 11-12 years old and is an adorable mix of Cairn Terrier, Jack Russell and possibly chihuahua. Sammy has been with TRI since December 17, 2022 and what a joy he has been. Sammy has allergies that we were working through, and he's ready now to find his forever home! Sammy has a silly personality ten times bigger than his 12 pounds. His fur will never grow back on his belly or around his neck, so he hopes you don't mind his messy look (we think it's adorable of course!). His face will melt your heart. Sammy has been great with with all of his foster canine siblings. He will spend endless hours outside if you let him. Sammy loves toys and wants to play with his humans by throwing the toys for him. If you think Sammy is the little boy for you, email therescueinn@gmail.com or complete an adoption application: https://therescueinn.com/adoption-application.html. Sammy can't wait to meet his family!
