Story
Tank is a young, neutered male Staffordshire terrier/Lab mix who is looking for a home where he can get a lot of love and attention. He is very affectionate, curious, playful, energetic, and smart. He is eager to please, very inquisitive, and likes learning new things. In his spare time, Tank enjoys watching tv, playing fetch, going for walks, chewing on his toys, cuddling with his human, and even walking on the treadmill! He is very well behaved in the house and is potty trained. He knows his basic commands and does pretty well on a leash. He has made great strides in socializing with other dogs. Tank would do best in a home with no toddlers or very young children, as he doesn’t realize how big and strong he is. If you are looking for an active dog to play and explore with, Tank is your boy! Foster will pay half of the adoption fee. Tank is being fostered in Richfield, OH through Powellpaws.org.

Story
Meet Sebastian (aka “Sea-bass”) – The Sweetest Catch AroundSay hello to Sebastian, lovingly nicknamed “Sea-bass,” a 2½-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix weighing about 55 pounds of pure goodness. With his handsome light brown coat and soulful eyes, this charming guy is ready to swim right into your heart.Sebastian came to the shelter through no fault of his own. His previous canine housemate simply wasn’t interested in sharing the spotlight. His mom loved him dearly and trusted us to find him another equally loving home, and we’re determined to keep that promise. This sweet boy has experience living in a busy household—with five cats! That’s right, Sea-bass is practically a cat connoisseur. He’s also dog friendly (though as always, a meet and greet with your resident dog is required) and he does well with children, too.Sebastian has a medium energy level, making him a great companion for families who enjoy walks, playtime, and relaxing together afterward. One of his favorite pastimes? Playing with squeaky toys—nothing brings out his joyful side faster than a good squeak. He’s also a well-mannered gentleman. His previous owner reports that he is crate trained and house trained, and he’s known for being quiet—not much of a barker at all. A home with a physical fenced in yard is ideal for him. Mostly, Sebastian just wants to be near his people, soaking up love and giving it right back.Sebastian is available for adoption and comes neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative—all ready to start his next chapter. If you’d like to add this lovable, gentle soul to your family, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online dog adoption application to meet him. Sebastian’s adoption fee is $160. Sebastian truly is an angel—and he’s ready to bring a whole lot of love to his forever home.

Story
Meet Nicole, a 5-6 year old Schnauzer mix with 10 pounds of gentleness and sweetness. This little lady was found as a stray and found herself at the shelter. No one claimed her. Nicole is ready to start her next chapter with a family who will adore her as much as she deserves.Nicole is the kind of pup who believes every person she meets is a potential best friend. Nicole is shy and timid at first but warms up quickly. Nicole has shown great potential with other dogs while at the shelter, though she can be a little shy at first. As always, a meet and greet with any resident dog will be required to make sure everyone is a good match. She hasn’t had the chance to meet cats yet, so that remains a mystery waiting to be solved. Compatibility with children is unknown. She has a low-to-medium energy level and enjoys her daily walks at the shelter. Being a Schnauzer mix means Nicole will need regular grooming to keep her beautiful coat looking its best. Professional grooming and routine brushing will be part of her self-care routine, but she promises the adorable results are absolutely worth it.Nicole is currently available through the shelter’s Foster-to-Adopt Program, which means you can start bonding with her right away while she finishes her vetting with the shelter veterinarian. Her vetting includes her spay surgery, vaccinations, microchip, and heartworm test.If you’re ready for a sweet, affectionate little companion who prances through life with style and charm, Nicole might just be your girl. Email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online dog adoption application to meet her. Nicole’s adoption fee is $200. Come meet this tiny doll — she’s ready to prance her way straight into your heart.

Story
Meet Cyrus, a 91-pound bundle of personality with a heart just as big as his paws. This handsome 2½-year-old boy came back to the shelter through no fault of his own when he decided that living with cats just wasn’t his thing. Cyrus would much prefer a home where he can be the only king of the small critter kingdom—no cats or tiny furry roommates, please.Cyrus is the kind of dog who wakes up every day excited about life. Walk? Yes please. Car ride? Don’t mind if he does. Random pond along the way? Even better—he’s ready to jump right in. He walks nicely on leash and enjoys staying close to his person, though every now and then his enthusiasm for adventure sneaks in and he will pull. A strong handler is needed. With his high energy and joyful spirit, Cyrus would love an active family that enjoys getting outside and making the most of the day.Despite his big size, Cyrus is a very polite house guest. He keeps his kennel clean and has proven that he can be respectful in a home environment without being destructive. Crates aren’t really his style, but give him a comfy spot and some people to hang out with and he’s perfectly content. He already knows several commands like sit, down, stay, paw, and even “gentle” when accepting treats, which he happily soaks up whenever they’re offered.Cyrus grew up with other large dogs and did well, so he may enjoy a canine sibling his size after a proper meet and greet. He’s also good with kids, though because he’s such a big, enthusiastic guy, a home with older children would probably be the best fit.One more important detail about this lovable goofball: Cyrus is a serious foodie. Peanut butter, strawberries, cucumbers, blueberries—if it’s snack time, he’s ready to participate with great enthusiasm. Treats, adventures, belly rubs, butt scratches, and maybe the occasional splash in a pond are pretty much his recipe for happiness.Cyrus is already neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and waiting for his next chapter. He’s available through the foster-to-adopt program while he finishes up his vetting and updated vaccines. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who’s equal parts playful, curious, and loving, Cyrus is your guy. Reach out to dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application to come meet this big, happy boy. Cyrus adoption fee is $160.

Story
Meet Scout, a 70-pound bundle of enthusiasm who approaches life like every day is the best day ever. This handsome boy is a male Border Collie mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for adventure. He was found as a stray and no one claimed him. If you’re looking for a dog who’s ready to get out, get moving, and make the most of every moment, Scout is already wagging his tail to meet you.Scout is full of energy and would thrive in an active household where walks, hikes, playtime, and outdoor adventures are part of the daily routine. He’s the kind of dog who wakes up ready to go and can’t wait to see what fun the day will bring. Now, in the spirit of honesty, Scout is still working on his leash manners. He’s strong and can pull when he gets excited, so he’ll need a confident handler who can keep up with his enthusiasm and help guide him in the right direction. With some basic training and consistency, Scout has all the potential to learn the ropes and become a great walking partner. Right now he’s just a little too excited about the world around him to remember his manners.Scout also has a serious interest in the local wildlife population. Squirrels, birds, and anything that scurries tends to grab his attention immediately, which means a home with cats or small furry pets probably isn’t the best match for this curious guy. Compatibility with other dogs is unknown. Compatibility with children is unknown but older children are a better bet. Scout is currently available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program. That means you can welcome him into your home and start bonding right away while he completes his vetting with the shelter veterinarian. His vetting includes neuter surgery, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and a microchip. If you’re ready for a big, fun-loving dog who will keep life exciting and make sure you never skip leg day on your walks, Scout might just be your perfect adventure buddy. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an online dog adoption application to meet Scout. Scout’s adoption fee is $160.
