Story
Kobe is in da house! And he’s ready to steal the show — and your tennis balls.Meet Kobe, a 75-pound black Lab/Shepherd mix who is 7 years young and somehow powered entirely by joy and fetch. You would never guess his age because this guy moves like a rookie with something to prove. He came to us when life changed unexpectedly for his loving family, and while that was a hard goodbye, we promised them we’d find him another incredible home. We intend to keep that promise. Kobe is high energy and happiest when he’s on the move. Walks? Yes. Hikes? Absolutely. Backyard zoomies? Count him in. But his true life passion is tennis balls. Kobe is not casually interested in tennis balls — he is committed. Toss one and you’ve made his day. Toss one repeatedly and you’ve earned hero status. He’ll chase and retrieve with pure, unfiltered happiness until the sun calls it quits. He’s also the total package when it comes to family life. Kobe is dog friendly, cat friendly (he’s lived successfully with cats), and kid friendly too. He grew up alongside children ages 4 and 7 and would absolutely love to be part of a family with kids again. Previous owners report that he’s house trained and well-mannered in the home, and he isn’t destructive when left alone. And when the big athlete is done playing? He transforms into a 75-pound lap dog. Kobe is fully convinced he’s small enough to fit wherever you are — couch, chair, or bed. If you’re looking for personal space, he respectfully declines. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow and professional snuggler, he’s your guy.Kobe is available through our foster-to-adopt program, which includes neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and heartworm testing. If you’re willing to open your home and your heart to Kobe, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online dog adoption application for Kobe. His adoption fee is $160.If your home is missing a joyful, kid-loving, tennis-ball-obsessed best friend who gives gold-medal cuddles, Kobe is ready to move in and make himself comfortable — probably right in your lap.

Now he’s looking for a loving family to give him the stable, happy life he deserves.Lucky is crate trained, housetrained, and very well-mannered. Story
Meet Bonita, a sweet and silly mixed-breed girl with a heart full of love and about 44 pounds of pure joy. Estimated to be between one and two years old, Bonita was found as a stray and sadly never claimed. But her resilient, happy spirit hasn’t faded — she’s ready to bring her charm and snuggles into a new forever home. Bonita has a medium energy level and absolutely loves going for walks, though she can get a little excited and pull on the leash at times. She’s a total cannonball of affection — playful, goofy, and full of personality. Whether she’s zooming around the yard or rolling over for belly rubs, she’s always living in the moment and soaking up the love. Her love for life is truly contagious. She should be the only dog in the household. Because she can be a bit of a bowling ball when she plays, she’d do best in a home with older children. Bonita is not a match for homes with cats or small furry pets — she prefers her companions to be less... scurry. The great news is that Bonita is already house trained and crate trained, and she’s an absolute pro when it comes to snuggling. She’s available through our Foster to Adopt program, which means she can settle into your home while she completes her remaining vetting, including spay, microchip, heartworm testing, and updated vaccines. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a dog who’s equal parts joy and affection, Bonita might just be the perfect match. To learn more or to apply, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and complete the online dog adoption application. Her adoption fee is $160.

Story
Smokey is a 67-pound Catahoula/Husky mix with movie-star good looks and a heart of gold. Turning 6 years old on Saint Patrick’s Day (talk about a lucky charm!), this handsome guy sports one striking blue eye and one warm brown eye — he’s basically born to stand out. Smokey came to our shelter with his son Cannon when their previous owner had to move and could not take them along. Smokey carries himself with a calm, steady confidence. He has a medium energy level, meaning he’s just as happy going for a nice walk as he is relaxing by your side after a long day. His beautiful grey and white coat matches his gentle, loyal nature perfectly.Smokey loves kids, gets along well with other dogs, and according to his previous owner, is both housetrained and crate trained. He’s already neutered and ready to bring stability, devotion, and a whole lot of heart into his forever home.Smokey is available through our foster-to-adopt program, which allows you to welcome him into your home while he completes his veterinary care which includes vaccinations, microchipping, and heartworm testing. If you’re willing to open your home and your heart to Smokey, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online dog adoption application for Smokey. His adoption fee is $160.Smokey isn’t just looking for a family — he’s looking for one lucky enough to love him (and his favorite sidekick) forever.

Story
Meet Waylon —your future adventure buddy with a heart of gold!Waylon is a 5-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix weighing 62 pounds of pure love, energy, and goofiness. This handsome guy came to us through no fault of his own when his previous owner’s work schedule didn’t leave enough time for him. Now he’s ready for a fresh start with someone who can give him the attention he deserves.Waylon is fantastic with kids, gets along great with female dogs and smaller dogs, and is a total sweetheart once he knows you. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and already knows his manners—sit, shake, lay down, stay? Nailed it.That said… if left uncrated too long, his mischievous side might come out (think “curious husky energy,” not chaos). This boy has a high energy level and lives for agility courses, running and car rides, toys, toys, and more toys. He also enjoys playing in water. Waylon would thrive in a home where someone is around often, because he doesn’t love being left alone for long. He’s affectionate, easy-going, playful, and always happy to be by your side once he bonds with you. Compatibility with cats and small furry pets is currently unknown.Waylon is available through our foster-to-adopt program, which includes neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and heartworm testing. His adoption fee is $160.If you’re ready to meet this sweet, affectionate boy and give him the loving home he’s been waiting for, email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online adoption application for Waylon.Trust us—this is one very nice dog.
