Story
You may have heard of CITY DOG Suzy. She is a bit of a celebrity around the Cleveland area-she's been on the news multiple times, graced the cover of Cleveland Magazine and much more. You can check out all her shenanigans on her IG & FB profiles-Just look up CITY DOG Suzy. She actually came into the kennel over 3 years ago. When she first arrived, Suzy had an infected mass which we sent her to the vet to have removed. Unfortunately, the biopsy revealed that Suzy had mammary cancer. She was only expected to live 3-6 months, so a CITY DOGS Volunteer took her home as a hospice foster. Flash forward 3+ years and now it is time to find Suzy her forever home! She is thriving, with no signs of slowing down anytime soon after beating cancer. She is healthy and active. After multiple vet checks, no recurrence or symptoms of her cancer have come back. Suzy LOVES people of all ages. She has never met a person she didn't love and enjoys showering them with kisses. But she would need to be the only pet in the home, so no other dogs, cats or small animals for her. She knows sit & paw and takes treats nicely. She has energy to take on adventures but also does awesome in a home snuggling up on the couch with you. When at home she mostly enjoys looking out the window or sunning herself in the backyard. She is 100% housebroken & crate trained, but doesn't need to be crated if you prefer not to. In the right environment would also do great as a condo/apartment dog. She also loves going for car rides and feeling the wind through her ears--HAVE YOU SEEN THOSE EARS? They are her signature feature. Suzy is on the petite side, just under 50lbs and is around 7-8 years old. If you would like to find out more about Suzy or are interested in meeting her, please complete the Meet & Greet form on www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog

Story
Bizzy the brindle beauty is one easy-going, well-mannered pup! Currently living in a foster home, Bizzy has shown that she is a low-key lady who makes for pleasant company. She is housebroken, crate-trained, and overall quiet and polite. She rides very well in the car, remaining quiet and calm and content to just watch the world go by. She makes a great walking companion and is easy to manage on leash. She has also been respectful towards the calm, quiet resident dogs, and coexists well with them. Best of all, Bizzy makes a wonderful cuddler and loves being close to her people. She does need a home without cats or other small animals. She is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 54 lbs. She is ready to make a loving companion to a lucky family!Visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog to set up a meet with Bizzy.

Story
Meet Babs, the spunky pint-sized spit fire! Spritely Babs is a bright little ball of energy with a nonstop penchant for fun. She also has the cutest little splooty booty she she stretches down on the ground! Babs is smart as heck and highly attentive. Even when she gets carried away in her excitement and zest for life and starts up with puppy nibbles, Babs is eager to please and figure out what her person is asking. Thanks to some classes, she already has practice with sit, stay, leave it, and wait. Once she gets tired, Babs is all about being a lap dog and will flop right over to snuggle.Currently in a foster home, Babs has been having a great time. She can often be found burrowing under blankets, gleefully going through piles of toys, or climbing on top of her person to dole out exuberant kisses. Babs is a sweet little dynamo who is ready to find a fun-loving, active home of her own! And since Babs has taken classes with Cold Nose Companions Dog Training, her adopters will receive a free course to refresh her skills courtesy of Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland. She weighs just under 40 lbs and is estimated to be about 2 years old.Visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog to set up a meet with Babs!

Story
Imagine that someone took a magic wand to a marshmallow and turned it into a dog. That's Dara! She is a plump and happy gal. As one volunteer phrased it, watching Dara walk is "like watching a waterbed." She is a very healthy 88lbs and she's still learning to rein in that bulk on the leash. For now, she walks best with a harness. Dara can be uncertain in new situations or around new people, but quickly warms up. She especially relaxes around other dogs or around toys. This moo cow has a playful streak! (And we'll be honest, it's hilarious to watch her frolic around.) Given her initial timidity, Dara should live in a home with older children. If you like big mutts and you cannot lie, you'll love Dara! She is estimated to be around three years old. Visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog to schedule a meet. Scheduling a meeting in advance is the best way to ensure that an adoption counselor is available to meet with you. Meets are performed Tuesday and Thursday from 11am - 6pm and Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am - 3pm.

Story
Theo has a majestic exterior and a goofball core. Currently in a foster home, Theo has really been coming out of his shell. Though he can still be a little uncertain in new situations, his silly personality really shines in a home! Even though he is quite regal and stoic when posing for photos, he's a total goober at heart. He is jolly and goofy and totally hysterical and derpy in play. When he's in zoomie mode, he might go falling right off the furniture. In general, Theo enjoys many forms of activity, from fetch in the yard to hikes through the Metroparks or walks around the neighborhood. He has moments of being a little excitable and energetic, but is learning to settle with more and more time in a home. He is pretty well-mannered in the home, as he is housebroken, crate-trained, and fairly quiet. He knows how to sit and is food-motivated and a good listener, so he seems quite trainable if you want him to learn more. He's quite people-oriented and eager to please, making him a loving sidekick! Theo has been social meeting other dogs in play group and hanging out with the older, low-key dog in the home but we believe he would enjoy having his people all to himself. He would also likely do best in a home without cats. He is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs a lean 60 lbs.Visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog to set up a meet!
