Story
Tootie is a cutie patootie! This sweet girl was found as a stray in Morrow County and is 20 lbs at 6 months old. She has a personality and incredible markings that seem consistent with a Beagle and Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. If you have interest in this girl, please know that Catahoula Leopard Dogs are characterized as energetic, independent, loyal, and require extensive physical exercise and mental stimulation. They are best suited for experienced owners with active lifestyles. All of that said, Tootie is super sweet, submissive and gets along well with other dogs. She will also do well with dog savvy cats. Tootie is making great progress with house training, and is still working on crate training. She loves being with her human friends, and sleeps like an angel in her human's bed! Tootie's adoption fee is $250 fully vetted. Save Ohio Strays does not have a shelter. Story
Smokey Joe is a handsome 14 month old German Shepherd/Pit Bull mix who spent some time in the prison Dog Training program. That means he knows some basic commands like Sit, Stay, Wait, Down, Come and Leave it. He walks great on a leash, is housebroken, crate trained, and he is neutered and utd on shots. Smokey is about 55 lbs., and has a stocky, shorter build. He does well with other dogs but plays hard, so only bigger dogs are advised. Smokey would love a fenced in yard to run in, or an active runner/walker buddy to help him get his puppy energy out. He calms down really quickly, and lives to be near his people. Smokey has a prey drive outside, but has not been tested with cats. He can be mouthy like a shepherd so he is best suited for a home with older or no children. Smokey Joe is sweet as pie and will be an easy dog for any dog savvy home. He has an adorable habit of hoarding dog toys so make sure you are stocked up if you apply! He feels you can never have too many, and will be going to his new home with some of his favorites. Smokey Joe promises to be your best friend. Are YOU the one? To meet this adorable boy, His adoption fee is $150 fully vetted. Our first step to adopt is always our online application at saveohiostrays.org. Save Ohio Strays does not have a shelter. Story
Diagnosed July 2026 with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) & is responding well to treatment & regaining weight. This requires daily prescriptions for the rest of her life including PancreVed Powder (vital digestive enzymes her pancreas fails to produce naturally) mixed with every meal & Cobalequin (B12) as well as long term allergy medication Numelvi (or Apoquel) for skin allergies. Takes monthly preventive SimpariTrio. She is usually separated from pets for meals & treats due to occasional reactive, aggressive food guarding. Otherwise, loves dogs, children, & lived for a brief time with cat. Wants to be in your lap or by your side. Loves walks, snuggles, car rides. Kennel trained overnight, when alone & when eating. Trained to use doorbell & electric fence & training to use a new exterior dog door due to recent potty accidents/urgency. Responds to: “Sit, Stay. Come. Off. Kennel. No. Treat? Hungry?” Nothing motivates her more than food.

Story
Duke is a 25 pound, 5 year old Goldendoodle. He was purchased during Covid and became very close and loyal to me/adult female. Now back in office full time and adult children out of house, Duke needs more attention and we feel very bad to keep him in his cage so much of the day. He has not been around small children very much and is very protective of his owner. When not in heat, he is very laid back and a perfect companion dog who loves to snuggle with his person. Would love to see him go to a home that has someone at home full time, he loves his people!Duke has grown up with a small dog and is used to other dogs and loves them more than they love him, lol.Duke was not fixed because my sister wanted to breed him with her Bernese mountain dog. Please email with any further questions.
