Story

Smokey Joe is a handsome 14 month old German Shepherd/Pit Bull mix who spent some time in the prison Dog Training program. That means he knows some basic commands like Sit, Stay, Wait, Down, Come and Leave it. He walks great on a leash, is housebroken, crate trained, and he is neutered and utd on shots. Smokey is about 55 lbs., and has a stocky, shorter build. He does well with other dogs but plays hard, so only bigger dogs are advised. Smokey would love a fenced in yard to run in, or an active runner/walker buddy to help him get his puppy energy out. He calms down really quickly, and lives to be near his people. Smokey has a prey drive outside, but has not been tested with cats. He can be mouthy like a shepherd so he is best suited for a home with older or no children. Smokey Joe is sweet as pie and will be an easy dog for any dog savvy home. He has an adorable habit of hoarding dog toys so make sure you are stocked up if you apply! He feels you can never have too many, and will be going to his new home with some of his favorites. Smokey Joe promises to be your best friend. Are YOU the one? Story

Peanut is a handsome yellow Lab just over 1 year old. We adopted him as a young puppy from a local private shelter. He is neutered, up to date on medical care, house trained, and crate trained. He is a fun, affectionate, people-oriented dog who loves being part of the family. He has grown up with our three children, ages 12, 10, and 9, and loves playing with them. He enjoys running in the yard, chasing a ball, wrestling with the kids, and relaxing with the family. He also does well with our outdoor cat and chickens. Peanut is smart and knows several commands, including sit, lay down, come, go, place, high five, “dead,” and go to his crate. He walks nicely on a leash and does well when left alone. He may be cautious or protective when new people first arrive, but he warms up quickly and has never bitten or snapped. We feel Peanut would do best with a loving family, ideally with children and a yard where he can run and play.

Emmit is a 3.5-year-old American bulldog/labrador retriever mix. Emmit is a special needs dog as he is deaf. He is super affectionate, active and would thrive in a home with lots of attention and walks. He is learning hand signals and very much wants to please. While in foster, this smart boy has mastered 25-30 hand signals! Emmit can be dog selective, and a home with no small animals and older children would be required, due to his size and special needs. He is a huge snuggle bug and wants to be with his people! Emmit also gets in about 20 minutes a day on the treadmill! He loves going for walks and playing fetch!
