Story
To Whom it May Concern, I am in need of a foster for a beautiful black pitbull. She's my daughters ex's impulse puppy and she's been dumped on me. I have known her since she was 6 weeks old and spent a lot of time with her during her first year, socializing her. So now she's just turned 5 and I've had her since March. I myself have 2 dachshunds, a rescued cat and a rescued 9 year old bully/bassett/boxer who's come from an abusive past and has been with me for two years now. I was SO hopeful that I could keep her. But she went for my cat and my rescue attacked her and it was game on. So after breaking up 2 fights, I've been crate rotating since mid March. She's a great family dog. Loves everyone young and old. Not reactive to rambunctious kids. Loves car rides, stores, parties. Spayed. Crate trained. Utd on vaccines. Perfect health. Willing to take back if not a good fit. Sweet girl. Very pretty pitty.

Story
Before her rescue, Ripley was a devoted mom to a litter of puppies. Now, it’s finally her turn to be pampered and spoiled. She loves people and greets everyone with tail wags and enthusiasm—sometimes a little too much excitement, but with some gentle reminders, she’s quick to learn. Ripley is a spirited, high-energy 4-year-old who’s ready to find a forever home that matches her zest for life! This athletic girl lives for movement—she loves to run, play, and will gleefully destroy any toy that crosses her path. She’s fantastic with other dogs and adores children, making her a great match for an active family with kids or playful pups. Ripley thrives in a home that’s always on the go—whether it’s hikes, runs, or backyard zoomies, she’s all in. A quiet, laid-back lifestyle just isn’t her thing; she’s looking for a household that’s as energetic as she is. Ripley is crate trained, housebroken, and knows basic commands like “sit.” She’s also super smart and very treat-motivated, so training is a breeze with the right snacks and consistency. Important note: Ripley cannot be in a home with cats or small animals. She has a strong prey drive and takes her “squirrel patrol” duties very seriously—your yard will be rodent-free! If your home is filled with energy, love, and adventure, Ripley just might be your perfect match. Ready to make her part of your pack? ##2223382##

Story
Meet Rio a 3 yr old Border Collie mix weighing 40 lbs. Rio is house-trained, crate-trained (will go nap in her crate with the door open). Rio was professionally trained and knows all her commands. Typical of her breed mix, she is very smart, maybe too smart?! Rio is a fantastic family dog and very loving and loyal to her family members and the children in her family, however the Border Collie is known to keep its family in check, so Rio struggles with random children running up to the kids in "her family". Rio has stayed with other dogs, cats, and kids. She really just wants to be wherever her people are, whether lying next to your chair on the patio or at your feet under your desk. She loves to play fetch, and because she is a herding breed mix, a physical fenced-in yard is required (not electric), so she has the freedom to run and play. She also has an "off switch" and is content just hanging out at the end of the day. She is a fantastic dog! Rio would do best in an adult home where she does not have to monitor and protect the children in the home. Rio is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for Heartworm. If you are interested in Rio, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Rio would be a good match for you and your family. We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Adoption fee/donation is $200.00 If you have specific questions, please email the adoption coordinator at info@loveastraydog.com If you can't foster or adopt, please consider donating to help us with medical expenses and ongoing care. You can mail your donation to: Love-A-Stray, P.O. Story
Meet Super Trooper!! Trooper is approx 7-year-old Beagle mix and he came to us very overweight, but the good news is with diet and exercise, Trooper has already lost 20 lbs and is feeling like a new dog!!! He currently weights 70# and we anticipate him losing another 15-20 lbs. Trooper is house-trained and knows his basic commands. He is a very sweet dog! Troopers' owner loved him very much and he had Trooper since he was a puppy. Trooper's owner experienced health issues over the past year and was no longer able to provide the exercise he needed and Trooper gained some extra weight. After his owner sadly passed away, Trooper came into our care and is now looking for a loving forever home. Trooper is enjoying Doggie Daycare at Paws by the Lake and loves all the dogs and every human he meets and is super social. If you are interested in Trooper, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Trooper would be a good match for you and your family.
