Story
Please Note: Iggy is not at the shelter. He is currently in a foster home.Meet Iggy! Some dogs leave pawprints on your heart. Iggy leaves pawprints, hugs, and occasionally a tennis ball just out of reach.Iggy is a 3-year-old Terrier mix weighing 24 pounds, and he`s looking for a family to love as much as his last one did. In fact, Iggy was adopted from us three years ago when he was just a puppy. Unfortunately, due to changes in his family`s schedule, he is being returned because he needs someone home regularly to let him outside for bathroom breaks. If left too long, he will have accidents in the home. His family wants everyone to know that this is truly a wonderful dog. Iggy is a world-class cuddler who loves snuggling tightly against your leg or curling up in your lap during movie nights. He is also famous for his `hugs` and isn`t shy about showing affection to his favorite people. When he`s not busy being your personal weighted blanket, you`ll find him playing fetch. Fair warning: Iggy firmly believes that returning the ball 95% of the way counts as a successful retrieval. This handsome guy has had professional training and knows several commands, including `Sit, stay, heel, down, and spot` (which means go to your bed and stay there). His current family is even willing to help his future adopters learn the commands he knows so well. Iggy was crate trained, too. While it may not be his favorite place, he does settle down once he realizes crate time isn`t negotiable.Iggy has proven himself to be a fantastic family dog. He has lived successfully with children, cats, and a large dog who was his very best friend. He has even helped welcome foster kittens into the home and took his role as foster sibling seriously. With a medium energy level, Iggy enjoys a good play session but is equally happy spending quality time relaxing with his people. He offers a wonderful balance of fun and companionship.Iggy is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on all vaccines. He`s ready to pack his favorite toys, brush up on his hugging skills, and head off to his next forever home.If you`re looking for a loyal companion, an expert cuddler, and a fetch enthusiast with a quirky sense of humor, Iggy may be the perfect match for you. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org for more information about Iggy! His adoption fee is $160.
