Story
Jax is a 9 year old pittie. He is a sweetheart who just wants love and attention. He loves new people, however he does jump when meeting them. It’s all out of love, he just doesn’t realize how big he is. I believe in a more open environment, he will be way more chill, as he is pretty calm at home day to day. He will be a great cuddle buddy! I will say he is still pretty active. A bigger, fenced in yard would be ideal for him. He hasn’t been around other pets or children, however he has never been aggressive in the past, so I don’t believe he would be bad with them. However, as I said, he can be jumpy. He is a sweet, handsome dog who just needs a good home to live the rest of his life as happily as possible! I have a big cage, toys, a bed, food, shampoo, doggie bath tub, ect. that I will provide, as well. He is not up-to-date on his vaccines, which is why I’m not asking for money. I do have his medical records, though. He is about 10 months due. Unfortunately, we need him re-homed asap.

Story
Please note: Lucky is in a foster home and not physically at the shelter. Meet Lucky!Lucky is a 7-year-old, 75-pound Husky/Lab mix with a heart as warm as his big smile. Originally adopted from us two years ago, this sweet boy was recently surrendered when his owner could no longer provide for him. Now he’s looking for a loving family to give him the stable, happy life he deserves.Lucky is crate trained, housetrained, and very well-mannered. He knows several commands, including come, sit, lay down, paw, and trade/drop—especially helpful since he’s very food-motivated! Despite being a medium-energy dog, he has a calm, gentle presence and enjoys a nice balance of quiet time, toys, and leisurely walks. He’s also wonderfully social and friendly—great with dogs, cats, and children—making him an easy fit for many types of households.Lucky is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which allows you to welcome him into your home while we complete his full veterinary care, including updated vaccinations and a dental. He is already neutered and microchipped, so you can focus on bonding while we handle the rest.Lucky’s adoption fee is: $85.If you’re looking for a sweet, calm, and loyal companion, Lucky might be your perfect match.

Story
Meet Bonita, a sweet and silly mixed-breed girl with a heart full of love and about 44 pounds of pure joy. Estimated to be between one and two years old, Bonita was found as a stray and sadly never claimed. But her resilient, happy spirit hasn’t faded — she’s ready to bring her charm and snuggles into a new forever home. Bonita has a medium energy level and absolutely loves going for walks, though she can get a little excited and pull on the leash at times. She’s a total cannonball of affection — playful, goofy, and full of personality. Whether she’s zooming around the yard or rolling over for belly rubs, she’s always living in the moment and soaking up the love. Her love for life is truly contagious. She should be the only dog in the household. Because she can be a bit of a bowling ball when she plays, she’d do best in a home with older children. Bonita is not a match for homes with cats or small furry pets — she prefers her companions to be less... scurry. The great news is that Bonita is already house trained and crate trained, and she’s an absolute pro when it comes to snuggling. She’s available through our Foster to Adopt program, which means she can settle into your home while she completes her remaining vetting, including spay, microchip, heartworm testing, and updated vaccines. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a dog who’s equal parts joy and affection, Bonita might just be the perfect match. To learn more or to apply, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and complete the online dog adoption application. Her adoption fee is $160.

Story
Smokey is a 67-pound Catahoula/Husky mix with movie-star good looks and a heart of gold. Turning 5 years old on Saint Patrick’s Day (talk about a lucky charm!), this handsome guy sports one striking blue eye and one warm brown eye — he’s basically born to stand out. Smokey came to our shelter with his son Cannon when their previous owner had to move and could not take them along. Smokey carries himself with a calm, steady confidence. He has a medium energy level, meaning he’s just as happy going for a nice walk as he is relaxing by your side after a long day. His beautiful grey and white coat matches his gentle, loyal nature perfectly.Smokey loves kids, gets along well with other dogs, and according to his previous owner, is both housetrained and crate trained. He’s already neutered and ready to bring stability, devotion, and a whole lot of heart into his forever home.Smokey is available through our foster-to-adopt program, which allows you to welcome him into your home while he completes his veterinary care which includes vaccinations, microchipping, and heartworm testing. If you’re willing to open your home and your heart to Smokey, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online dog adoption application for Smokey. His adoption fee is $160.Smokey isn’t just looking for a family — he’s looking for one lucky enough to love him (and his favorite sidekick) forever.

Story
Meet Waylon —your future adventure buddy with a heart of gold!Waylon is a 5-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix weighing 62 pounds of pure love, energy, and goofiness. This handsome guy came to us through no fault of his own when his previous owner’s work schedule didn’t leave enough time for him. Now he’s ready for a fresh start with someone who can give him the attention he deserves.Waylon is fantastic with kids, gets along great with female dogs and smaller dogs, and is a total sweetheart once he knows you. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and already knows his manners—sit, shake, lay down, stay? Nailed it.That said… if left uncrated too long, his mischievous side might come out (think “curious husky energy,” not chaos). This boy has a high energy level and lives for agility courses, running and car rides, toys, toys, and more toys. He also enjoys playing in water. Waylon would thrive in a home where someone is around often, because he doesn’t love being left alone for long. He’s affectionate, easy-going, playful, and always happy to be by your side once he bonds with you. Compatibility with cats and small furry pets is currently unknown.Waylon is available through our foster-to-adopt program, which includes neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and heartworm testing. His adoption fee is $160.If you’re ready to meet this sweet, affectionate boy and give him the loving home he’s been waiting for, email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online adoption application for Waylon.Trust us—this is one very nice dog.
