Story
Meet Copper! Copper is a great addition to an active family looking for a furry companion. He is 4 years old and professionally trained. He is very well house trained and knows commands such as “kennel”, “sit”, “lay down”, “touch”, “get on your bed”, “no”, “come”, “wait” and “okay”(his command to break from waiting). We adopted Copper off of Craigslist (he was named Jake at the time) 2 years ago, at the age of 2; he’s 4 years old now and we’ve spent a lot of time loving on him and training him. He loves playing fetch—like seriously, he’s obsessed with it. He’s very affectionate, good with even the most “hands on” kids, and does well with other dogs—even in-tact males. We’re looking to re-home him because we’re financially faced with the decision of moving into an apartment and he just isn’t an apartment-friendly dog (plus, no apartments in our area accept dogs of his size). If your interest please reach out!

Story
Our family is looking to rehome our sweet doggy, Sage, due to pregnancy and small home. Sage is turning 1 this month. She is a Shepherd Mix and currently weighs about 55 lbs. Full size will be about 60-70 lbs. Sage is an extremely intelligent and loving dog who needs a home with an active lifestyle. She lives with another dog, 2 cats, a toddler and two adults. She does great with small children, other pets and of course adults who show her love. Sage is crate and potty trained. The only behavioral issue we have had with her is when she doesn’t get enough exercise she WILL dig holes in our backyard or she will want to play at night. You have to be okay with spending time working on this with her. When she gets her physical and mental stimulation, this girl will SLEEP like a rock. Please keep in mind, she is still very young and require more training. Sage loves exercise —walks, running, swimming and eating. She is the perfect family dog

Story
Chico is a 6 year old Pitbull with plenty of love to give. Chico was used primarily as a breeding dog in his past, and when his original owners decided to move, they didn't want to keep him anymore. This sweet boy is very well mannered and falls in love with everyone he comes in contact with. He loves to sit with people and get lots of pets, he loves being scrubbed down during bath time, and he loves just relaxing and sniffing around. He isn't big on playing fetch and I wouldn't consider him high energy. He would be a great walking partner, cuddle partner, and all-around great companion. He always aims to please and listens to every command given to him. Chico should be in a home without cats. Small children may be okay if they are dog savvy because of his size and strength. He could easily knock a child on accident if he bumped into them. As for other dogs, he doesn't pay much attention to them. I have not seen him directly interact with any dogs besides his partner Karma.

Story
Clara is 7 years old, house trained, loves people, likes to snuggle as well and likes going on walks with a leash. She has had a big back yard shared with her brother since we bought her. She is perfect for being a companion at a good home. About 35 pounds and lovely soft hair. We have to re-home her as she is not getting along at all with her brother (within our fenced yard..on walks she is fine with him). We are not putting a price on Clara as we want to be able to have a new home for her and the person / family who adopts her would be able to afford setting up a pet at home. Thank you, Susan

Story
I rescued Charlie from a woman who had found him, but already had other dogs that she was fostering. I took him for a companion for my male dog of an older age. Charlie is around two years old and my other dog is eight and after seven months together they just aren't bonding. Charlie is good with children, and seems to be good around other dog of his own age and temperament and he needs a place to be able to run. He just needs more attention than I can give him, and i would just like him to be with a family who has time for him.

**This information is current - when you email you can rest assured we will email back within 24hrs., but usually within an hour of receiving your email!**The rescue support donation is not for the 'purchase' of a dog, but rather to cover the medical and other costs of all dogs in our care. Shelter support donations are NOT NEGOTIABLE for that reason. Please respect that and do not email us to ask. Without ongoing support and adoption fees, our rescue WILL CEASE TO EXIST!**No phone calls, EMAIL ONLY, AlphaMom33@aol.com to get an application, thank you for understanding.** **These dogs are in foster homes, not a shelter setting; therefore we only accept appointments for those reasonably sure they WILL adopt the dog for which they are applying.**   At A Glance:   Meet Calico! Breed: miniature Australian shepherd (Aussie) mix Age: 5 months of full-on puppy! Energy: lively and active daily walks and hikes. No dog parks.  Barking: very quiet Size: small, about 18lb. right now and maybe 25 fully grown Kids: over 8 years, she mouths affectionately and this would be too much for most kids Cats: Will chase Dogs: Good, submissive, neutered male preferred Health: excellent  This is Calico, she's a very sweet and submissive dog. Knowledge of working with this temperament will be essential (or willing to learn)  Calico will be spayed soon and can go to her new home after that.  She is about 5 months old, very puppy like. She seems housebroken. We were told she'll chase kitties out of her yard. With proper intros she may get along with a cat that does not run.  She's good with the dogs in her home, but overly submissive with them as well.  She 'mouths' in an affectionate manner but we'd prefer only adults or older kids in the home because of this.  Expect that if excitement is high with visiting kids, she may nip heels and that's not really a good thing, but it's INSTINCT.  She's a very good little girl and will be a great buddy in her new home! $395 donation to adopt Calico.  SEE MORE PICS AND INFO on our Facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-PAW-UP-Rescue-E-WA/92163841238  EMAIL US - AlphaMom33@aol.com TO REQUEST AN APPLICATION-We WILL RESPOND within 24 hours (usually less!) All adopters are required to pick up their new family member HERE, within a week of your application being completed and being approved to adopt. Because this is our home, we have LIMITED SPACE to keep dogs, THANK YOU for your understanding.  The sooner an adoptable dog finds a home, the sooner we can rescue another! ****If you are unable to come adopt for longer than a week, a deposit ($50) and/or a $10/day donation towards boarding may apply!**** *Be aware that if you cannot adopt the puppy you've already placed a deposit on, you forfeit your deposit and it becomes a donation to our rescue.* Thank you for your understanding.      **All our foster dogs and puppies have been vaccinated with Galaxy DA2PPv at least ONE TIME. When appropriate and available, they get a rabies vaccination, and they have been dewormed at least once. They come with a health record that reflects this at the time of adoption. They are also Microchipped and come with a free month of health insurance.** No meet and greets take place without a completed/approved application.  **We DO allow out of state adoptions, but we DO NOT ship our pets.  **These dogs are in foster homes, not a shelter setting; therefore we only accept appointments for those reasonably sure they WILL adopt the dog for which they are applying.**  The rescue support donation is not for the 'purchase' of a dog, but rather to cover the medical and other costs of all dogs in our care. Shelter support donations are NOT NEGOTIABLE for that reason.
