Story
Nyx, came to me Dec.23rd, 2025. She is a young energetic dog. She is not yet 2 years old. She need someone that enjoys playing fetch with her. She needs strong chew toys. She has been through beginning obedience class. She is learning to share toys. She is crate trained and sleeps in her crate. She's a good girl who just needs a stable home environment. Her personal belongings, New crate, and toys to go with her. I was hoping to start her in service dog training, but she needs more classes. She's a good girl who deserves love and the attention a loving family can give her.

Story
Meet Katana!Katana is a gorgeous Shepherd/Husky mix with a heart full of sweetness and a playful spirit. This friendly girl loves to run and gets the zoomies when she’s excited—she’ll keep you laughing with her bursts of energy! Katana is still getting used to loud noises, so she’ll need a patient home that can help her feel safe and secure as she adjusts. With her affectionate nature and adventurous personality, Katana would thrive in a home where she can enjoy playtime, exercise, and plenty of love. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will brighten your days and keep life fun, Katana is ready to meet you! Please do your breed research before applying to adopt. Huskies and Husky mixes are very special dogs with unique requirements. They often have the inclination to roam and can be great escape artists. Huskies need to be active and do best with adopters that can help them burn extra energy with fun training. They can have strong prey drives, and while every dog is different, many huskies will chase cats and livestock. Grooming is also an important part of their routine, brushing them several times a week can help prevent their undercoat from matting and keep them looking their best. Huskies are a fun, active breed that many have fallen in love with over the years, but please keep their breed needs in mind when considering adding one to your household. This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane-Ellensburg Shelter If you recognize this animal, please contact the adoption center at 509-925-7387 Ready to adopt? Story
Meet Marla, a one and a half year old Lab/Husky mix weighing 61 pounds.Marla is a friendly, happy, and silly young pup who came to the shelter with her sister, Abigail. The girls were unfortunately dumped as puppies and didn’t receive much early guidance, so Marla is looking for a patient adopter who’s excited to help her learn good manners and build confidence.Marla is full of enthusiastic puppy energy and is currently working on the command “off”—she’s just so excited to be around people! Because she’s still learning her manners, we don’t think Marla would be the best fit for a home with young children at this time. With consistency and positive training, she has all the potential to thrive. When she’s unsure, Marla looks to her people for guidance and support, and her eager, people-focused nature should make her a joy to train. Sweet, playful, and always ready to be silly, Marla will do best in a home willing to invest time, patience, and love as she continues to grow into the wonderful dog she’s meant to be.This pet is available for adoption on 12/4/2025 4:01 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Meet Abigail, a one and a half year old Lab/Husky mix weighing 67 pounds. Abigail is a sweet, happy, and silly young pup who came to the shelter with her sister, Marla. The two were sadly dumped as puppies and didn’t receive much early guidance, so Abigail is looking for a patient, committed adopter who’s excited to help her learn and grow.Abigail is full of classic puppy energy and enthusiasm—sometimes a little too enthusiastic! She’s currently working on the command “off” and is eager to learn, especially when she has people she trusts by her side. When she’s unsure, Abigail looks to her humans for guidance and reassurance, which makes her a great candidate for training and bonding. She can be a bit uncertain around new or unfamiliar things, but with encouragement and support, she shows just how brave she can be. Friendly, playful, and always ready to be silly, Abigail will thrive in a home willing to invest time, patience, and love into helping her become the confident dog she’s meant to be.This pet is available for adoption on 12/4/2025 4:01 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
