She is kennel trained and sleeps in her kennel at night with no accidents. Muffin understand basic commands but could always learn new ones. She does jump up on new people if she is excited to see them but never aggressive. She is very sweet but we cannot keep up with her energy due to some medical related issues.

Story
Bear is a very loving dog and loves attention. He loves to play chuck it! He is generally good with other dogs if introduced to them. He is very protective, so he will react aggressively towards dogs that are behaving aggressively. He absolutely cannot be around cats or high energy small dogs. He does well on a leash, but should avoid walking him near fenced yards that have barking, active dog or dogs on the other side. He needs someone who can invest some time in behavioral training with him.

Story
Meet Asher, a one year old Lab/German Shepherd mix weighing 68 pounds.Asher is ready for his second chance—and we truly believe second time’s the charm for this smart, lovable guy. He was originally adopted from us as a puppy but returned because his energy level was more than his previous home could handle.Asher is full of personality—friendly, playful, and always ready to have a good time. He enjoys playing, exploring, and yes, sometimes digging when the mood strikes. He also does well on a leash and already knows “sit,” showing he has a great foundation to build on.It doesn’t seem like Asher had much training in his previous home, and he’s not fully potty trained yet, but he’s a bright dog who is eager to learn and a great temperment. With a little guidance, consistency, and patience, he has all the potential to become a well-mannered companion. He also lived with cats previously and did well with them.Asher is looking for an active home that will give him structure, continued training, and plenty of outlets for his energy. In return, you’ll get a fun, loyal companion who’s ready to grow right alongside you. Asher has met many other dogs while with us and has done well with all of them. He is a true joy to be around. Story
Gary`s adoption price has been donated in full!Meet Gary, a one-year-old Retriever/Pit mix weighing 45 pounds. Gary is an athletic, enthusiastic dog who’s still figuring out the world around him. He doesn’t seem to have had much socialization, so new situations can sometimes be confusing or overstimulating for him. With that said, Gary truly wants to do well and thrives when someone takes the time to guide him. This is the same with dogs, he just doesn`t know what to do with them. At first he is a little defensive and unsure but he settles in fast with reassurance and will likely enjoy their companionship if provided time and patience. However, he would be just as happy as an only dog. He soaks up attention and enjoys working with his person, responding well to redirection and structure. Gary is the kind of dog who will bond closely with his handler and flourish with consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement.Gary is looking for a dedicated adopter who enjoys training and building a strong relationship. With the right guidance, he has the potential to become an amazing, loyal companion. This pet is available for adoption on 1/31/2026 at 11:52 AM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Itzly, a five-year-old Doberman mix.She was owner surrendered simply because her previous family could not dedicate enough time to her, and she’s now hoping for a fresh start with someone who will truly appreciate her gentle, people-oriented nature.Itzly is a petite girl for her breed mix, making her an especially charming and manageable companion. She already knows basic commands like “sit” and “paw,” and she’s highly treat-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. She walks well on leash and enjoys getting out for strolls, where she can take in the world at a relaxed, easygoing pace.True to her affectionate personality, Itzly absolutely loves snuggles and being close to her people. She has lived in a home with both kids and cats and did well, showing a social and adaptable side when properly introduced and supervised. She enjoys companionship and will likely bond closely with her family. As a Doberman mix, Itzly reflects many of the traits the breed is known for — loyalty, intelligence, and a strong attachment to their humans. Doberman Pinscher dogs are also typically energetic and people-focused, thriving when they are included in daily life and given both mental and physical engagement. While Dobermans are often alert and protective by nature, they are also deeply affectionate “velcro dogs” who want to be near their people as much as possible.Itzly is playful, loving, and ready to become someone’s constant companion. She’ll do best in a home that can continue her basic training, keep her engaged, and most importantly, give her the time and affection she’s been missing. This pet is available for adoption on 5.8.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
