Story
Laney has been a huge part of my life for more than ten years. She has been a best friend to me. She is cuddly, sweet and loving. I am a new mom to 10 month old baby and I’ve come to the sad realization I just can’t give Laney what she needs anymore while I’m learning to be a mom. I want Laney to experience the life she’s accustomed to. Long walks, sleeping in the bedroom, yummy snacks. She gets along with the new baby but she can no longer sleep in our bedroom anymore which makes me so sad. I’ve loved Laney for 11 years and she has brought me so much joy. I’m looking for a family that is happy to take in a spunky side kick. I want her later years of life to be comfortable and pleasant. I am doing my best but my husband is allergic so she doesn’t have full access around the house like she is used to and certain areas are off limits bc of the baby.

Story
Rehoming to Save- named her LOGAN -- i just recently learned her breed (i think is lab/PIT) is banned in my locality. Had no idea or any reason to know. Ive been in my apt 9 yrs, i took a 2nd place in OC MD for my charity 2 years ago, allowing pets here is brand new. Ive always had dogs, both sons in the Army have several with their fams. I did a private adoption about a month ago from a single mom in DC. She'd posted an add in Craigslist ad for a sweet Yr old pup she rescued who'd been abandoned at her kids DC elementary school. She'd had her, said her first heat was in Feb, got rabies shot in March, she was clearly in Pseudo-Pregnancy from being stressed, understandably.

Story
Brandi and her sister have been with us for quite a few months, their siblings have been adopted and doing great in their homes. She would love a home to call her own! She is currently in a home with other dogs and a cat and does wonderfully with everyone. Brandi can be shy at first, but is cuddly and loving once she gets to know you. She is very agile and would probably do great with some agility training! She is house trained and does great in a crate! She is looking for an active home who enjoys outdoor activities. She would love a fenced in yard because she loves to play outside. Right now, she is being fostered in Tennessee. The rescue lists in areas where transport is available. They use safe USDA licensed dog transports that will bring her to their new family, once they are adopted! Once you send an application, the rescue will contact you for an interview and be able to send more photos and even videos She is spayed and UTD on all required vaccinations. She is microchipped and on flea preventative. Please, you MUST click the following link BEFORE emailing for further information. I'm in a FOSTER HOME! If you want to meet me, you can start the process by emailing my foster parent at ekurland@humanerescuealliance.org to set up a time to virtually meet me.I'm the Captain and my foster mom says I'm super sweet! I'm housebroken and a bit shy with people I don't know. I'm good with cats and I'm not reactive to dogs when I see them on walks. Email my foster mom to learn more about me.

Story
** I am currently being housed at our Oglethorpe St location. Come meet me at 71 Oglethorpe St NW, every day between 12pm-7pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable dogs. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more. "Naomi" means "pleasant, gentle" and is often associated with compassionate women who faced many challenges throughout life. This fits me to a t! Before I came to the shelter, I went through a bit of a rough patch. When I arrived here, I had a bit of healing to do, but look at me today and you'd never know that. I am always sooo happy to see my favorite people here and this is when I may, for a moment, get a teeny bit excited and jumpy (of course just gently jumpy). Playing with toys in the yard is one of my favorite things and I can perfectly self-entertain myself while doing so!On walks, I sometimes get a bit scared -- could have something to do with the said rough patch. But I am getting bolder and braver here by the day -- I am sure we can figure this out. Will you be my pal in meeting life's challenges and cherishing its joys?
