Story
Nala is a female Akita puppy with stunning silver-fawn coat, deep black mask, and flashy white paws, born on January 7, 2026. If you’re looking for a girl with confidence, look no further! Nala is the undisputed leader of the pack. She is as beautiful as she is brave. She sports a tiny white 'soul patch' on her chin and a bright white chest that makes her stand out in every crowd. While Nala is an adorable puppy, Akitas grow into powerful, dignified, and complex adult dogs. Please have experience with this breed, or research and make sure you have the time and interest to raise an Akita. Often recommended as only dog, or with a different sex dog in the same household as they can become same sex intolerant as they mature. Whether she’s the first to investigate a new toy or leading her brothers on a backyard expedition, Nala approaches life with zero hesitation. She is equal parts 'brave explorer' and 'total goofball.' When she isn't busy being the boss, she is hamming it up for the camera and demanding all the belly rubs. Nala needs a family that can keep up with her energy and appreciate her spicy, fun-loving spirit! Adoption fee $525. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, DHPP, Rabies, Flea, tick, heart worm check, worm treatment, and microchip. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to: https://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org/dog-adoption-application/ We are located in Western North Carolina.     Optional transport is weekly.  After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.February 22, 2026, 3:07 pm

Story
Chevy is a neutered male tan Mountain Feist/Mastiff mix born about 6/25. Crate trained, leash trained, and doing well on house training. Chevy is sweet and charming. This is the dog that a lot of people are looking for. He is somewhat intimidating to just look at but is about the sweetest dog ever. He gets along with other dogs and loves the many cats in the foster home. He wants to snuggle with the cats and will lick them like they are his babies. Chevy is calm, and on the submissive side with other dogs. If he’s laying down, he just lets the other dogs who are playing and being rambunctious run all over him like he’s a rug and never gets upset. Silly, playful and a bit shy, he has a wonderful personality. Chevy is happy, healthy and a lover, not a fighter. Adoption fee $50. After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.  February 13, 2026, 5:14 pm

Story
Buckaroo is a neutered male mountain Feist/Smooth Fox Terrier mix, born about May, 2024. He is loving, bright and adores attention. Fox Terriers are smart and trainable and require some daily exercise to live their best lives. Buckaroo weighs about 14 lbs, is neutered, and is healthy. He’s from a former breeder who passed away, but while they look like purebred Smooth Fox Terriers, we don’t have any paperwork and so they could be a mixed breed. Buckaroo will make a loving and lovable companion who also happens to be adorable.  $75 This covers the cost of spay/neuter, DHPP, Rabies, Flea, tick, heart worm check, worm treatment, and microchip.
