UPDATE: Ariel is now at pg animal shelter please if interested and will like to meet this sweet girl and give her a forever home go visit her! 5 year old German shepherd female not spayed Great on long 7+ car rides super calm Great at the beach Great on walks Does get bored easily and frustrated needs to constantly do something and be with her caretakers/loved ones doesn’t like being alone the perfect companion for a person w free time Does not like the dog at the house I had to move in to, reason why I have to sadly let her go, we have adopted her about 4 months ago she is loving and loves to be pet and play fetch, when we adopted her she did seemed to have it rough previously she had just gave birth before we met her she was all bones and scared, she is afraid of stairs at first you gotta be patient but then she’s fine! She is a sweet loving girl just don’t think she likes other dogs at least the pomsky at my house.

Meet Bebe! She’s proof positive that you’re never too old to begin a new chapter. This darling girl finds herself looking for a new home because her owner is terminally ill and closest family members are allergic. At 12-13 years old and very overweight, this poses a bit of a challenge. But here's the good news, our Bebe is full of light and love and ENERGY. So we're looking at her current situation like a caterpillar in a cocoon just waiting to come out and fly. Her theme song is Patti LaBelle’s “New Attitude.” (We hope that doesn’t date us.) Currently she's a 40lb dog stuck inside a 50lb body and she's eager to shed the excess weight and start this next phase of her life. She has Cushings disease and will need to continue her medication to control it. Bebe has good house manners and has left most things alone. She plays with toys if you'll play with her and lives for belly rubs. She knows basic commands but can also be a little headstrong. She LOVES her walks or even just time meandering around the backyard. As the weight is falling off, she’s also starting zooms around the house and lots of play time. She’s definitely feeling herself! She is 99% house trained but has had a few accidents from stress. She wants to know where you are in the house and if she can't find you, she may stress pee. This has been mitigated by talking to her from wherever I am. She is also crate trained. She does well with most other dogs so far. She’s generally fine with them until they gruff at her. She’s a bit alpha in her play so would recommend pairing her with a more submissive dog. I’m excited to get to know her more and for you to join us on this journey. We'll be highlighting her weight loss journey along the way, which will be great for us both! Bentley, is quite typical of what you would expect in a terrier (even though there's no terrier in his background)!. He likes to run, leap and hunt for prey in his foster mom's backyard. But this same strong, fearless hunter, gets weak at the knees when it comes to men. In fact, he would have been better named Courage the Cowardly dog, due to his somewhat peculiar fear of men. Therefore, this strong warrior, a mix of Chihuahua, Chow Chow, Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Shih Tzu, Doberman Pinscher and American Cocker Spaniel, is a sensitive, eager to please ladies' man and would be best suited as the only dog with a female owner who enjoys an active, but loyal and joyous dog. Hi, I'm Katie Shih Tzu | Senior | Female | Small About Me Katie is a 14 yr old shih tzu mix that was rescued from the PG County animal shelter on 09/08/25. Sadly, her previous owner had taken her there for euthanasia but thankfully the shelter sent out a rescue plea instead. She is very low-maintenance – pretty much the only time you hear her is when it’s time for breakfast or dinner and even then, it’s just a low grumbling sound to let you know you aren’t moving fast enough! She’s like Mikey – she eats everything!! (If you know, you know..lol) Due to her limited vision, she will do best in a home with not many or no steps (unless they can be blocked off) and no young children as she is easily startled. She currently lives in a home with four small dogs and gets along with all of them but she will be fine as an only dog. As an older lady, she will probably do best with a family that is home most of the time to let her out for potty breaks. She will also require regular grooming. Katie will lay in your lap while you work or curl up next to you while you watch TV. She is such a sweet girl that will make you smile just from looking at her adorable little face and watching her tail wag when you say her name. Her appreciation for being given this second chance is coming through in her personality more and more each day. Come meet her, you will love her immediately!
