Story
Rocco is a high energy dog that we have had since he was 8 weeks old. He is now a year old and requires a lot of love and attention. He is extremely obedient and has been easy to train so far. Due to our demanding schedules and with the addition of a new born we are unable to give him the attention he requires. He has had no issues with other dogs or children and I am sure he will be a joy to have in an active family who has the time for long walks and daily games of fetch

Chimmu's stats: Age: 5 years Weight: 35 lbs Good with kids: Unknown Good with dogs: Some Good with cats: Unknown Fenced yard: Yes Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: No House trained: Mostly Crate trained: Yes Barks when left alone: No Chews inappropriate items: Yes Training: Working on basic commands Activity level: Medium I have been told I am a handsome young boy, I like to please people who like me for what I am, a doggie born from a street Mammy who had to fight her way with monkeys and other dogs so that she could feed us and keep us safe. But God is Great and saved my Mammy and my siblings from the same destiny. Two nice ladies who knew our new foster Mom in the States got us out of India and into the land of opportunities, so here we are ready to move into a forever loving home with very nice people who want to play, walk, lay on the couch or bed and just have fun. I am very sweet but it takes me a minute to trust people, but I would know who my master would be when I meet you! Chimmu is a courtesy post and not affiliated with our organization. To learn more about him or arrange to meet him, please call or text Morella at (415) 858-9731 or visit the website downwardfacing.dog.

Story
Meet Bebe! She’s proof positive that you’re never too old to begin a new chapter. This darling girl finds herself looking for a new home because her owner is terminally ill and closest family members are allergic. At 12-13 years old and very overweight, this poses a bit of a challenge. But here's the good news, our Bebe is full of light and love and ENERGY. So we're looking at her current situation like a caterpillar in a cocoon just waiting to come out and fly. Her theme song is Patti LaBelle’s “New Attitude.” (We hope that doesn’t date us.) Currently she's a 40lb dog stuck inside a 50lb body and she's eager to shed the excess weight and start this next phase of her life. She has Cushings disease and will need to continue her medication to control it. Bebe has good house manners and has left most things alone. She plays with toys if you'll play with her and lives for belly rubs. She knows basic commands but can also be a little headstrong. She LOVES her walks or even just time meandering around the backyard. As the weight is falling off, she’s also starting zooms around the house and lots of play time. She’s definitely feeling herself! She is 99% house trained but has had a few accidents from stress. She wants to know where you are in the house and if she can't find you, she may stress pee. This has been mitigated by talking to her from wherever I am. She is also crate trained. She does well with most other dogs so far. She’s generally fine with them until they gruff at her. She’s a bit alpha in her play so would recommend pairing her with a more submissive dog. I’m excited to get to know her more and for you to join us on this journey. We'll be highlighting her weight loss journey along the way, which will be great for us both! Bebe's stats: Weight: 57lb, working her way down to 40 Age: 12-13 years Good with kids: Yes Good with other dogs: Some Good with cats: Unknown Fenced yard required: No OK for townhouse or apartment: Yes House trained: Mostly Crate trained: Yes Barks when left alone: I’ll bark when you leave, but then I’ll settle down. Chews inappropriate items: No Training: Knows sit and come. Needs more work but waiting to lose weight before training. Highly treat motivated. Activity Level: Low Needs experienced adopter: Not necessarily. Should be willing to learn about her medications. If you are interested in Bebe, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application. Please consult our Adoption FAQ before contacting us. Please check the adoption-show-attendees page (http://www.pgspca.org/adopt/adoption-show-attendees/) to see if Bebe will be attending the next adoption show. NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. All of our animals are in foster homes. We are unable to place our animals outside of the Baltimore/DC area.

Story
If dogs had sitcom roles, Hazel would be the lovable, quirky fan favorite. This sweet girl is full of personality--from her goofy grin and excited woo-woo conversations to her love of playing in the rain, sunbathing outside, and sleeping on her back with all four legs in the air. Her tail even does full-circle swirls when she's happy! Hazel may have had a rough start to life, so it takes her a short while to decompress in a new setting, but she hasn't let it dim her spirit. She's potty-trained, loves car rides, knows several commands, and is eager to learn more. She's done wonderfully with her foster dog brother, adjusting her play style to match his, and would love a home with another playful pup. With a perfect medium energy level, Hazel enjoys walks, exploring the yard, and playtime, but she's equally happy to curl up for cuddles when the day is done. If you're looking for a dog who will keep you laughing, make every day brighter, and love you with her whole heart, Hazel is your girl. My Profile Age: 2 years Weight: 55 pounds Good with kids: Yes Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: No Fenced yard: No Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes for townhouse, but no for apartment House trained: Yes. Training: Knows basic commands Activity level: Medium Meet Me If you are interested in Hazel, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application.
