You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. &#226&#128&#139Meet Buckley! This handsome 5 year old American Pit Bull Terrier mix is ready to find his forever home. Buckley is a friendly guy who loves people, especially older kids. He will do best in a calm, patient environment where he will receive exercise to burn off his energy. Buckley might be open to sharing his space with other dogs, but cats are probable not a good fit for him. He's a very smart boy who knows commands like sit, shake, down, and stay. When he's not showing off his tricks, Buckley loves going for walks, cuddling up with his favorite humans, and playing with his ball and toys. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with love, Buckley might just be the perfect match! He really is a wonderful dog. A fenced yard is strongly recommended for him, as he loves to chase wildlife. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Do you have tennis balls, like a lot of them, if not will you buy some? If your answer is yes than you might be the home for me! See I am simple girl but I do require lots of tennis balls!! I like other toys but nothing gets me as excited as having tennis balls! My foster says I am just a happy gal, that is good with all people even kiddos! I am house broken, but I may have had a couple accidents but I am still recovering from taking care of my 5 babies for the last several weeks. They all have found their forever homes and now it’s my turn. I was a great mom but my foster promised I never ever have to do it again, which sounds perfect to me! I really love my foster home. See, I also get alone time and have my own room, I have adults and kids who play fetch with me a few times a day. They all helped me get better on the leash, to come when I was called, I am actually even starting to learn how to settle down and watch TV. I would probably like to stay here but they have some big dogs here, I just don’t like when they get in my way. My foster thinks I will much prefer to be the only dog in a home.  I think that is true at least to start. The cats here don’t bother me. Did I mention my NEED for tennis balls, oh I did, okay. Well that’s all for now. Let lastdaydogrescue.org know if you want to meet me by filling out an application. &#226&#128&#139 &#226&#128&#139 Click here to watch a video of Pu Litter Eevee (Mom).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Meet Baron, a majestic Husky/Malamute mix with a noble spirit. At 2.5 years old and neutered, Baron is ready to start a new chapter with a family that understands his breed. Baron is very social with other dogs and loves belly rubs. He walks well on a leash and is non-leash reactive, making him great for outings. He crates well at night, is potty trained, and knows commands like sit, shake, high five, and touch. He's eager to learn more tricks! Baron’s wooly coat requires regular brushing and professional grooming to keep him comfortable and healthy. Prospective adopters need to understand the grooming commitment and the unique needs of his breed. Baron's new home should not have children under 15, cats, or small dogs. While Baron is a sweet and loving dog, he does have a few quirks that come with his personality. He can be a bit of a resource guarder when it comes to high-value treats and food, so his new family should be mindful of this behavior and provide him with proper training and boundaries. Additionally, Baron can be grumbly and a tad moody at times, but if you’re familiar with the Husky breed, you’ll know this checks out as part of his charm. Husky Breed Insights: Huskies are known for their even temperament, love for other dogs, and indifference to strangers, making them excellent companions for active families. They maintain a playful, puppy-like energy well into adulthood and exhibit a zest for life that few breeds can match. Every outing feels like a brand-new adventure for a Husky, and they often express their excitement with what owners affectionately call the "zoomies." These dogs excel in roles that require focus and determination. Originally bred to work, Huskies thrive when given tasks or engaging in activities like mushing, ski-joring, or bikejoring. A tired Husky is a happy Husky, and many owners find that channeling their energy into "jobs" helps them stay balanced and content. That said, Huskies can be a challenge for first-time dog owners. They require extensive training and daily exercise to maintain good behavior. Huskies often have independent minds and short attention spans, but with the right dedication, they become loyal and reliable companions. Those willing to invest time and energy into a Husky will be rewarded with a one-of-a-kind, personality-packed dog. Requirements for Baron's new family: Experience with Husky/Malamute breeds Commitment to regular grooming Understanding of breed-specific behaviors and needs No children under 15, cats, or small dogs If you meet these requirements, Baron could be the perfect addition to your home. Important Note: Baron had entropion surgery to correct his eyelids. His new family should monitor his eye health as part of his ongoing care. &#226&#128&#139 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hello! I’m Tanbo (now named Snoop). I was adopted from Last Day Dog Rescue as a pup and now see myself back here due to family issues. I’m a very inquisitive pup and like to find my way into many things, but I’m learning that I’m not allowed to do so.  Anything to do with treats and I’ll be right there with you, but if you have your own food, I may sniff it. I really like to play with toys. As long as the toys are not stuffed, we won’t have a mess. I shred them within minutes, so harder chews would be best. I like to go for walks, I’m leash trained with slight pulling but I’m learning how not to do that. While we are out on our walks, I like to sniff everything I can because it’s all so interesting to me. After our long walks I like to curl up on the couch next to my humans and sleep. I enjoy being under the covers with them as well! When meeting new people, I do bark. Once I get to know them, I’m fine. I do get along with other dogs, I just bark a lot. However, I also resource guard my toys, so being an only dog may be best for me. I do chase cats, so I might not be the best with them. My current humans think I may have some separation anxiety, so for now I will have to be in a crate until I calm down and learn they will come back. I was just recently diagnosed with Cushing’s disease so I will be medicated for the rest of my life, but that doesn’t make me any different to love.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Styx was part of an unplanned litter in Detroit. While her breed mix would suggest she’d be a bigger dog, the vet thinks she’ll stay on the smaller side of medium as an adult. A perfect size to snuggle up next to you on the couch without taking up too much space. &#226&#128&#139Styx watched as her three littermates found their forever homes. Why them and not her? While they all came into rescue under-socialized, she was the most shy and timid around new people. She shies away from being pet until you have entered her circle of trust (this will take days/weeks, not minutes/hours), and will bark when she’s uncomfortable with a new person in her home. Her future forever family will need to be patient and likely do several meet-ups to build trust before adoption. She does warm up pretty quickly to new dog friends, so a home with a confident dog sibling to help her learn the ropes would be ideal! We do not know how she’d do with cats. To help Styx overcome her ‘Stranger Danger’ mindset, she has started SSRI medication and is doing in-home training sessions to learn how to better manage her anxiety. She’s already showing a lot of progress, but will still prefer a quieter home without a lot of people coming and going. Once Styx trusts you, she’s a wonderful, loving, snuggly companion! She’s very treat-motivated and smart, making her easy to train. She has some bursts of puppy energy, but is overall a pretty chill dog who happily settles on the couch or in her crate for nap time. She loves to play fetch with toys inside. Outside, she tends to get more distracted by all the smells, but does happily engage in a game of chase with her doggy playmate. She rarely barks at anything outside of the house (animals, people, cars, etc.) and is past the put-everything-in-your-mouth stage of puppyhood. While Styx makes it hard for you to earn her trust, the effort will be rewarded with lots of love and loyalty.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption.
