Story
Daisy is a Lab/Pit Bull mix born December 3, 2024, and weighs about 70 lbs. She is spayed, house trained, leash trained, up to date on vaccinations, good with cats, and rides well in the car. She’s an affectionate, people-oriented girl with a great mix of playful energy and calm cuddles. Daisy loves being outdoors, giving “handshakes,” and relaxing close to her person inside. She enjoys being near her people and has a very sweet, loving personality.Daisy originally belonged to my mom, who can no longer care for her due to serious personal and health challenges. We brought Daisy from Oklahoma to Minnesota hoping to find her a safe placement, and are now urgently trying to find her a stable, loving forever home. This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but Daisy deserves consistency, attention, and a home where she can truly thrive.

Story
Osgood is a loyal companion that loves lounging with his (adult) humans on fuzzy blankets, going for hikes, and occasionally chasing a frisbee. fairly low energy, will get the occasional zoomies. Osgood would thrive in an environment where there are no children, he does well with big dogs, we do not know how he does with small dogs or house cats. He can be as active or inactive as you desire, he just wants to be with his people. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Osgood requires a home without children. House trained, basic obedience. He is crate trained;however, he prefers to be loose and does better that way.

Story
Meet Marita, or Rita as her foster lovingly calls her — a gentle little soul with a heart full of potential. Rita came from a difficult past and is slowly learning that people can be kind, patient, and safe. Every day she grows a little braver as she adjusts to her new world. Rita is doing wonderfully with potty training as long as she gets regular trips outside. When left alone for longer periods, she does well in the kitchen with a pee pad. She also sleeps peacefully through the night in her own cozy bed like a perfect lady. While she’s not quite a cuddle bug yet, she’s beginning to build trust at her own pace. One of Rita’s sweetest surprises is how nicely she walks on a leash. She happily trots along on your left side and keeps up impressively well despite her short little legs. She has not discovered jumping on furniture or navigating basement stairs yet, which may actually be a bonus! Rita is a quiet, loving girl who simply needs someone patient enough to let her blossom. With time, kindness, and understanding, this sweet honey is sure to become a devoted companion. All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped. Story
Meet Durango, lovingly known as “Rango”—a 4-year-old bundle of love, curiosity, and personality! Rango is incredibly friendly and truly believes that everyone he meets is a potential best friend. Whether it’s people, other dogs, or even (we suspect!) cats, he’s all about making connections and spreading joy wherever he goes. This sweet boy is endlessly curious and discovering the world one step at a time—literally! He has recently learned how to go up stairs (go Rango!) and is building confidence with new experiences—though he hasn’t attempted going down them just yet. While he’s learning, he’s more than happy to accept the VIP treatment—being carried is definitely his favorite option 😊 Rango is also a social butterfly when it comes to other pups. He absolutely loves spending time with his foster brothers (two Yorkies and a Chihuahua) and would likely do great in a home with other dogs. One thing to note—he’s not a big fan of being in a kennel and much prefers being out and around his people or furry friends. Rango is the perfect mix of: 💛 Affectionate and loving 🐶 Social and dog-friendly 🧠 Curious and eager to learn 🐾 Goofy and full of charm He’s still gaining confidence with new experiences, so he’ll thrive in a home that offers patience, encouragement, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will adore you, make you laugh, and greet every day with excitement—Durango is your guy. Come meet Rango and fall in love! 🐕💛 All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped. To meet this sweet pup, fill out an application today! https://www.carverscotths.org/dogs Durango has a Grade 3 Luxating Patella. That means that Durango’s kneecap doesn’t stay in its normal position. With a Grade 3, the kneecap is out of place most of the time but can still be moved back manually. This is more advanced than mild cases, but dogs can still function surprisingly well! This is a very common condition in smaller dogs, especially Yorkie's. Why isn’t surgery recommended right now? Even with a Grade 3, surgery isn’t always urgent if Durango is currently comfortable, mobile, and not showing significant pain. Many vets base the decision on function, not just the grade—so if he’s walking, playing, and not in distress, they may recommend monitoring for now rather than putting him through surgery immediately. Do you believe he will need surgery over time? There’s a higher likelihood with Grade 3 that surgery may be needed at some point, especially if he develops pain, increased limping, or arthritis. That said, it’s not guaranteed—some dogs adapt well and remain stable for long periods. Do some dogs never have this repaired? Yes, even with higher grades, some dogs never undergo surgery—either because they remain comfortable or because their owners manage it conservatively. However, Grade 3 dogs are more likely than mild cases to eventually need intervention. Would regular walks cause pain or make it worse? Regular, controlled exercise is still important and usually beneficial. Leash walks help maintain muscle strength, which supports the joint. The key is moderation—avoid high-impact activities like jumping or rough play. Watch for signs like consistent limping, stopping during walks, or sensitivity, which could indicate discomfort. At this time CSHS is not pursuing surgical correction of the luxating patella at the recommendation of the veterinarian who performed the orthopedic exam. We always want to be transparent with potential adopters so they feel comfortable with their decision to adopt. I'm always happy to reach out to any potential adopters and chat if needed! Again- this is a VERY COMMON thing in small breed dogs and many never need surgery.

Meet Brownie 🤎 Brownie is a sweet recent mama who’s finished raising her puppies and is now ready to begin a brand-new chapter, one that’s all about her. She’s gentle, loving, and has a wonderful balance of independence and affection. Brownie enjoys exploring with the other pups around the barn, but she’s never far from her people for long. She’s also been wonderful with cats and other dogs, making her an easy addition to a multi-pet home. When adventure time is over, Brownie is all about the snuggles. She loves being held and cuddling on the couch, soaking up every bit of affection she can get. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate dog who’s ready to leave mom-life behind and settle into a loving home, Brownie could be the perfect match. 🐾💛 All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped.
