Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Lainey is a 6-year-old female Bichon mix with the softest eyes and a tender heart that’s still learning how to feel safe. She is a breeder release, which means much of her early life was spent without the love, stability, and everyday experiences most dogs know. Because of that, she is learning a lot of new things and the world is sometimes overwhelming to her. Lainey is a beautiful, sweet, and sensitive girl who is just beginning to understand what it means to live inside a home, to trust people, and to be a family pet. She will need continued time to decompress, build confidence, and learn that she is finally safe. Patience, consistency, and gentle reassurance will help her continue to blossom. She is very attached to her foster mom and happily follows her like a little shadow. Being close to her person makes her feel secure, and she is at her happiest curled up beside someone she trusts. Because she can be quite anxious, Lainey will do best in a home where someone is present most of the day. A fenced yard is important for her comfort and security, and she would do best in a home without shared walls, as new or sudden noises can startle her. As Lainey is still learning about living in a home, she is currently about 60% house trained. She can be left to free roam, but her new family should understand that accidents will still happen as she continues to figure things out and learns your schedule. She truly does not enjoy being kenneled — and when she feels confined, she will passionately make her displeasure known, which sounds a bit like a high-pitched teenage girl scream. For her, the kennel feels scary and overwhelming. With patience, consistency, and a predictable routine, she will continue to gain confidence and make steady progress. Lainey enjoys the company of other dogs and gets along well with the cat in her foster home. She can be nervous around men at first, but with gentle introductions and time, she learns to trust. Older, respectful children would be just fine for her. Lainey has no teeth, so she will need to remain on a wet diet, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying life’s simple pleasures — especially love and companionship. Lainey isn’t looking for perfection. She’s looking for someone who understands that healing takes time, and that the most beautiful transformations happen slowly. In the right home, with patience and a kind heart, this sweet girl will continue to bloom into the devoted, loving companion she was always meant to be. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Flex—a pup with a heart as big as my smile! I’m all about snuggles, tail wags, and bringing joy to everyone I meet. My energy is a good mix of “hooray, playtime!” and “time to stretch out and relax.” I would thrive in a home with another dog that loves to wrestle and goof around in the yard! I may have a slight limp from a past hip injury, but trust me—it doesn’t slow me down one bit. My foster mom says I’m a fast learner, and I am an eager student when it comes to training. I’m so comfortable in my crate and always head outside to go potty. I’m super patient with kids but I think chasing cats would be too tempting, so no cats for me. Walks are tricky for me because of how much I want to chase, well, everything, so I get plenty of exercise running around in the yard with my favorite toys.   I’m just a big lovebug with an even bigger heart, and I can’t wait to find a forever family who’s ready for a loyal, goofy, treat-loving best friend. Story
Willy was found abandoned in an apartment that his previous owner had been evicted from. His age is unknown but I’m guessing he’s around 2 years old. He’s very energetic and eats Rachel Ray small breed food. Baby carrots are his favorite snack but he also eats raw cauliflower, broccoli and apple. He likes to sit on your lap and have his belly scratched. He's aggressive to other dogs and doesn’t play well with others. He’s been exposed to children and is ok around them as long as the don’t try to take his food or toys away. I think he’ll make a good companion for somebody without any other pets. Fee is to recover costs for shots and neutering.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Muttley and Jeff, a bonded pair of Chihuahua/Terrier mixes. Mutley’s date of birth is believed to be around 6/9/22 and Jeff is guessed at 7/3/20. Both were left by their previous owner in Bloomington and found their way to animal control where Wags and Whiskers rescued them.   Muttley is the one with a snub nose, which suggests he might have some pug in him. He is a bit on the chunky side because he’s quick at stealing the resident dog’s food and treats if his foster mom isn’t watching. He is instantly friendly with dogs and people and doesn’t mind cats.    Jeff is skittish in new environments and takes some warming up to new people so if you are interested in adopting them you will need to come to the foster’s home to meet them in the Apple Valley/Lakeville area. Once he gets used to a person, he is very loving and snuggly.    Jeff also has seizures that are fairly controlled by taking a medication called phenobarbital twice a day. The cost of the meds is about $30/month. He takes them easily if you hide them in some cheese or meat.   Both Muttley and Jeff are good about going potty outside if not left alone too long. They have not been kenneled and are used to having free reign of the house and fenced yard. They appear to walk well on a lease but Jeff gets excited when he sees other dogs and tries to enthusiastically engage with them.   Both love toys and having someone to play tug of war with.  Since they are a bonded pair, they will need to go together. They will be very sweet and loving companions once they settle in to their new home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Ferris: Loyal Protector, Snuggle Enthusiast, and Master of Living in the Moment Ferris has one life motto… “life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and snuggle, you could miss it.” And he fully expects you to stop… frequently… so he can lay directly on top of you. At home, Ferris is incredibly affectionate and happiest when he’s as close to his people as physically possible. Personal space? Never heard of it. He’s loyal, intuitive, and always tuned in to what’s happening around him. He also takes his role as household protector seriously and will let you know if something seems out of place. Consider him your very committed (and vocal) head of security. Ferris is also ready for adventure. He would make an excellent running or walking partner and loves getting out and experiencing the world with his person. He has a fun, playful side too. Ferris lives for his rubber toys and a good game of tug, and he’s wonderfully polite about it. He’s quick to grab a toy to play and has shown that he keeps his chewing focused on appropriate items. If you hand him a toy, you’ve got an instant best friend. When it comes to other animals, Ferris has shown positive signs. He has been around a cat and is curious and interested, but respectful… more “trying to make a friend” than anything else. With proper introductions and guidance, he has the potential to live successfully with feline companions. With other dogs, Ferris has shown he can do well, especially with proper introductions or in off-leash settings. On leash, though, he can get a bit overwhelmed and tends to be vocal when passing other dogs. With continued training and a confident handler, he has all the tools to keep improving. And because every good story has a plot twist… Ferris has shown he can be a bit of an athlete, including once clearing a four-foot fence in a foster home. Because of this, a secure setup is important. He has done very well on a tie-out or lead and previously lived successfully without a fenced yard. Ferris is looking for a home that will embrace his affectionate nature, appreciate his protective instincts, and maybe share a few adventures along the way. In return, he’ll bring loyalty, personality, and a whole lot of love… usually delivered at very close range. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi, my name is Elsie and I am a Lab/Terrier X  with a DOB of 10/22/22 (approx. 50lbs). I am a native to Minnesota where I was found roaming the streets in St Paul. Animal Control was kind enough to give me a lift as I thought it was to my home, but it was to the nearest doggie jail where no one claimed me.   I would like to mention a few characteristics I have that make me stand out from the doggie crowd. -  I hop like a bunny around the yard. -  I patrol the yard for squirrels, rabbits & cats. No one gets past this girl’s watchful eye. -  I am non-reactive with other dogs – I just want to play with them. -  I have a 4’ 5” vertical jump.  6’ fence is required as I am escape artist. -  I Pounce on tennis balls while I play with them. I like to ride a shotgun when it comes to car rides. They make a doggie seat belt as I have been told and I guess that should be used for any car rides in the future. I am learning not to dash out the door when it’s open.  I’m just very excited to follow my foster mom wherever she goes. I love toys, but I don’t share them with other animals. You just need to take all my toys, hide them and I can play with other dogs in harmony.  I have been known to escape my kennel. Because of this I now have my own “No Break Kennel”. This now keeps me out of trouble when I’m home alone. I am not a fan of the kennel, but I settle down quickly.   I tend to pull on the leash, so my foster mom bought me a hot pink gentle leader (I'm the prettiest girl on the block now) and is teaching me basic commands such as heal and stay for starters. I can back out of a regular flat collar so a martingale collar/leash is also best to add while out on walks. I have to say, so far so good as I do enjoy my walks in the neighborhood.  I am still working on potty training and am taking Proin daily to help with some urinary incontinence. It has really helped but we are still figuring things out. I may pee on my dog bed at night so investing in a washable bed is a good idea! What kind of home would do best for me: -  Active home that can release my spirited energy and have dog stimulation toys. -  I am food motivated and this works great for training. -  Be patient as I am still young and learning. -  Love me with all your heart as I will do the same.      Are you my forever home?      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal?
